The purpose of this study is to analyze the perception of vocational students about the perception of use (PU) of Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL), the second goal is to analyze the perception of ease of use (PEoU) regarding Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL). This study uses a quantitative approach. The purpose of this study was to determine the perception of the use of Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) in learning English for vocational students at the Mataram Tourism College. 100 respondents were involved in this study. Respondents answered statements about perceived usefulness and ease of use of MALL. Responses to the questionnaire were measured on a 5-point Likert scale, from 5 (“strongly agree”) to 1 (“strongly disagree”). The results of this study indicate that respondents as learners of English as a second language show a positive attitude in terms of usability and ease of use in MALL. In addition, the role of MALL is believed to be able to improve the results and teaching and learning process of foreign language learning.

The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy of using technology-based teaching media to improve the speaking skills of STP Mataram Hospitality Study Program students. Several media that use computers and the internet will be used in this study to teach speaking. Rosetta Stone is used as learning media for students' speaking learning.  In this study, 30 students served as the experimental group, while 30 other students served as the control group. According to the findings of this study, the value of the t-test > t table (3.462> 2.676) indicates a significant difference in English speaking skills when using technology-based learning media. Finally, the use of technology-based learning media is effective in improving students' speaking abilities.

The Use of Collocation to Improve English Vocabulary 运用搭配提高英语词汇量
Pub Date : 2022-06-23 DOI: 10.56517/jteal.v1i1.3
Primus Gadu, Lalu Mahsar
Learning English is very useful, especially regarding the role of the tourism education institute to provide human resources in the tourism sector who have the ability to communicate with tourists and fills labour needs such as selling souvenirs, working in hotels, or being a tour guide. The tourism information service will use at least one foreign language, especially English. However, the reality shows that existing graduate students lack the required English language skills. This is due to the lack of vocabulary owned by students majoring in tourism.  This study will use a quasi-experimental research model with one group pre-test and post-test design. The data will be analyzed using a quantitative approach and a qualitative approach using statistical analysis (test score results), and a descriptive qualitative approach (Observation, questionnaire, interview). This study aimed to determine whether there was an effect of using collocation in increasing the vocabulary (vocabulary breadth) of the STP Mataram students in the hospitality study program. Researchers took 50 students as research samples.  This study used a quasi-experimental research model with one group pre-test and post-test design. Based on the table of results of the paired sample test t-test with SPSS, the sig value is obtained. (2-tailed) is 0.000 with a 5% probability is less than 0.005. So, it can be said that there is a difference in the effect of using collocation in improving the vocabulary skills of STP Mataram students.
