espanolResumen El presente articulo se propone reflexionar en torno a las relaciones intersubjetivas en el campo de la interculturalidad. Desde esta perspectiva, es posible senalar que el dialogo juega un rol importante, pues es un elemento fundamental en las relaciones intersubjetivas existentes entre los kimches y los profesores occidentales. Esto favoreceria la convivencia en un contexto intercultural, debido a que el conocimiento del Otro constituye una de las fuentes imprescindibles para la construccion de proyectos de vida en comun. Al respecto, en el marco de la educacion intercultural, los saberes culturales mapuche se deben reconocer, comprender, valorar y legitimar desde un plano epistemologico, a fin de contribuir a la formacion de personas mapuche y no mapuche que conviven e interactuan en una misma sociedad. EnglishAbstract The following article presents a critical reflection on intersubjective rela tions in the field of interculturality. From this perspective, dialogue emerges as an im portant factor, as it represents a fundamental element of intersubjective relations between kimches and Western teachers. This would favor coexistence in an intercultural context, since the knowledge of the Other constitutes one of the essential sources for the construction of common life projects. In this respect, within an intercultural educational framework, Mapuche cultural knowledges should be recognized, understood, valued and validated from an epistemological perspective, in order to contribute to the education of Mapuche and non-Mapuche people who live and interact in the same society.

DISEÑO TEXTIL INTERCULTURAL: ALCANCES SOBRE UNA INTERVENCIÓN EN TERRITORIO MAPUCHE-WILLICHE 跨文化纺织设计:马普切-威利什地区的干预范围

espanolRESUMEN El presente articulo expone los alcances de una intervencion de diseno realizada en la localidad de Llahualco, Region de Los Lagos, Chile, a artesanas textiles con ascendencia mapuche-williche. En particular, busca tensionar el concepto de desarrollo, en funcion del contexto intercultural donde se situa, analizando la figura de la mujer en la transmision de conocimiento heredado y sus nuevos escenarios de validacion. Junto con lo anterior, expone como la asimilacion de nuevas tecnicas artesanales, sus apropiaciones y nuevos usos, va generando nuevas tradiciones textiles para los territorios multiculturales del sur de Chile. Se espera realizar una aproximacion a los principios de integracion cultural aplicables a procesos de diseno, que permitan prospectar el desafio de la interculturalidad en los territorios de la globalizacion. EnglishABSTRACT This article demonstrates the scope of a design intervention carried out in Llahualco, Los Lagos Region, Chile, with textile artisans of Mapuche-Williche ancestry. In particular, it seeks to question the concept of development as a function of the intercultural context of the village, analyzing the role of women in the transmission of inherited knowledge and new scenarios for validation of that knowledge. Furthermore, the article demonstrates how the assimilation of new artisanal techniques, along with their appropriations and novel uses, is generating new textile traditions for the multicultural territories of southern Chile. This project offers an approach to the principles of cultural integration applicable to design processes, thus enabling us to explore the challenge of interculturality in territories open to globalization.

Pero disienten en lo esencial de sus concepciones. Para el primero, las cualidades de un clasico son externas y su valoracion cambiante, ademas, cada tradicion tiene su propio centro; para el segundo, las cualidades canonicas son intrinsecas y Shakespeare es el centro de una unica tradicion occidental. Aqui propondremos una comprension intermedia del modo en que las obras devienen clasi cas o canonicas. Determinar ciertos atributos "objetivos" resulta indispensable para su canonizacion, segun insiste Bloom, pero tales atributos, como querria Borges, varian a traves de la historia y las culturas. No hay, en consecuencia, un unico canon, sino una multiplicidad de ellos, seleccionados y organizados, sin embargo, no por misteriosas razones, sino bajo criterios estetico-ideologicos instaurados por cada tradicion. EnglishABSTRACT Jorge Luis Borges and Harold Bloom are in agreement that the classics or the "Western Canon" are steeped in mystery, worthy of the description, "deep like the cosmos," or that they impose a certain "strangeness" on us. But when it comes to their fundamentals, their two views differ. For the former, the qualities of a classic are external and their value can change, and each tradition has its own center. For the latter, the value of the canon is inherent, and Shakespeare is at the center of a single Western tradition. Here, we will draw from both views to understand the way in which works become classics or canonical. Bloom insists that determining certain "objective" qualities of a work proves indispensable for assessing if they should be part of the canon or not. But as Borges noted, said qualities vary throughout history and between cultures. There is not, therefore, a single canon, but a multiplicity of them, selected and organized, however, not for mysterious reasons, but under the aesthetic-ideological criteria established by each tradition.

espanolRESUMEN Los diarios de viaje de Francisco Echaurren (1852-1857) son los mas antiguos que se conservan hoy de un viajero chileno alrededor del mundo. Para profundizar en los mismos, exponemos el perfil social y politico del autor, la estructura y estilo literario de los diarios, y los vinculos entre la autoria y la representacion de otredades como las elites locales, los criados y los guias. Escritos para recordar el viaje y no para ser publicados, los cuadernos se caracterizan por la franqueza de su intimidad. Concluimos subrayando la presencia en los textos de valores modernos de predileccion por la aventura, el exotismo y el protagonismo del sujeto, asi como de estrategias escriturales que marcan un clasismo constante en la construccion del otro. EnglishABSTRACT Francisco Echaurren's diaries from his voyage around the world (1852 1857) are the oldest extant example of this genre from a Chilean traveler. In order to deepen our understanding of this work, we explore the social and political profile of the author, the diaries' structure and literary style, and the links between authorship and the representation of otherness through Echaurren's descriptions of local elites, servants, and guides. The diaries are characterized by their candor and intimacy, as they were written as a personal record of the journey but not meant to be published. We con clude by emphasizing the work's embodiment of modern values, such as a predilection for adventure, exoticism and the subject's centrality, as well as the scriptural strategies that reveal the author's class bias in the construction of otherness.
