The accession of Poland to the group of NATO member states was undoubtedly one of the milestones in the modern history of the country and in the direction of strengthening security in the international arena. The whole process was conditioned by various types of determinants: technological, organizational, political and ideological (Kupiecki, 2016). Many publications have been dedicated to Poland's accession to NATO and its later role among the allied members. Nevertheless, there is a lack of particular studies in the professional literature that presents a detailed chronology of Polish pre-accession activities and the diverse opinions of the US administration regarding the enlargement of NATO with new member states recruiting from the former Warsaw Pact. This gap in available literature was a trigger for writing this article with the purpose to present the undertakings of Poland aimed at accession to NATO in the aspect of “Partnership for Peace” and the US point of view. In the research process, two basic methods were employed: analysis and synthesis. The method of analysis was used in relation to the verification of collected literature, normative acts and documents on international security. The method of synthesis was applied for conclusions. The undertaken research on the topic proved that without consistent actions and initiatives conducted by Poland in the international area and without the support of the US, joining NATO would be highly difficult or even impossible. At the same time, a detailed analysis highlighted that the accession of Poland to NATO was and still is mutually and beneficial for Warsaw and Washington.

One of the most transparent manifestations of globalization processes currently occurring is the phenomenon of economic migration. It is associated with the movement of large masses of people from poor, economically underdeveloped regions often disturbed by armed conflicts to economically developed countries with already shaped prosperity. Migration processes pose many economic, social and cultural problems that discourage the population of wealthy countries from receiving incoming migrants. This article was organized in order to firstly consider the impact of economic migration on the phenomenon of changes in the population structure and thus cultural changes that might result from it. The next stage of the conducted analysis refers to the problem of commodification of artworks created within the area of culture. An important effect of the conducted research is to draw attention to the phenomenon of blurring differences, and, as a result, the emergence of widely accepted, supranational cultural patterns. Finally, the undertaken research identifies possible opportunities and threats for sustainable development of culture on an economically diverse world.

The scientific considerations presented in this paper concern threats to national security arising from the activity in outer space. The objective of this analysis is to identify these dangers and to propose solutions to minimize them. The theoretical research methods employed in this study are: synthesis, analysis, abstracting and generalization. In the course of the analysis, several modern threats were established, including anti-satellite and hypersonic weapons. Another important sphere discussed in the paper is the cyber security of satellite/communication devices and systems operating in space. With respect to satellite systems, the EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft was presented as one of the concepts developed with the capability of disrupting their operation. The results from the conducted study emphasize the need to create a Space Domain Awareness (SDA) system, which is substantiated by the indication of natural threats that must beminimized, namely space debris, space weather and the possibility of collision with Near-Earth Objects. The presented considerations are concluded by the analysis of the legislative state regarding space security, which in reality accentuate the incompatibility of the existing laws with the emerging threats, and other issues concerning space law.

The main goal of the paper is to present the leadership of Mustafa Kemal (also known as Mustafa Kemal Atatürk) during the Gallipoli Campaign in the context of mission command principles as defined by the U.S. Army Doctrine (2014). After itemizing the six mission command principles, the paper provides a brief overview of the Gallipoli Campaign, which serves as a context for further analysis of Mustafa Kemal’s leadership during the campaign. Next, four of the six principles are discussed in detail, namely (1) providing a clear commander’s intent, (2) using mission orders, (3) creating shared understanding, and (4) building cohesive teams through mutual trust. The paper is concluded with a reflection on the connectivity of the discussed principles and their current relevance for successful military leadership.

The article describes the characteristics of the spatial disorientation simulator constructed for the Polish Air Force Academy aviation training. Using the spatial disorientation simulator enables safe training for military pilots, as it simulates visual illusions and spatial disorientation. The simulator makes it possible to train pilots in spatial disorientation conditions for every possible type of aircraft, through designing and conducting the proper aircraft cabin models. Spatial disorientation training has to main aims. The first one is familiarizing the pilots with spatial disorientation phenomenon, and providing them with essential knowledge and abilities through theoretical and practical acquaintance with physiological limitations. Such limitations are related to the impact of different aviation environmental aspects on the human body. The second aim of the training is increasing the efficiency of aviation training, in relation to recognizing, analyzing and proper reacting to real and simulated occurrences, which lead to spatial disorientation. The author describes main stages of the training conducted during the spatial disorientation course. The article categorizes major features of different spatial confusion types and characterizes types of air illusions.

The aim of the article is to show areas in which unmanned aerial vehicles are used for protection purposes and to show that drones are increasingly used for criminal purposes, an important aspect is also to present the possibilities offered by these devices. Increasingly, new technologies are used daily in human activities. They become supportive, and at the same time, they facilitate many activities. With the introduction of unmanned aerial vehicles, they have become an object that has been adopted in many industries, from simple flight operations, to filming and shooting, to complex transport or search. Due to the many constraints inherent in the human factor, the necessity of introducing drones into many everyday industries has been recognized. Particular attention has been paid to unmanned aerial vehicles in the area of security and protection, where daily activities involve a high risk of human loss. For this purpose, new technologies are introduced, but drones, due to their characteristics and many other factors, a tool used by criminals for the purposes of trade, data theft, illegal shooting and photographing. These are just a few of the offences committed by means of unmanned aerial vehicles. This poses a threat and conducive to the emergence illegal market using drones.
