Eberspächer | Safety in Autonomous Driving TE Connectivity | Connectors for Sealed Applications The fuel cell bus Toyota Sora now features networked security systems such as the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) Connect. It not only promotes accident-free road traffic, but also improves transport capacity, speed and punctuality. Through vehicle-to-infrastructure communication, ITS Connect also alerts the driver to red traffic lights and reduces speed well in advance. A screen indicates the remaining time until the traffic light returns to green. Using ITS radio, the driver in the last bus can also achieve an extended green phase so that everyone can cross the intersection in one go. The vehicles are also equipped with a radar-supported distance control system that enables smooth acceleration and deceleration. It exchanges information with the cruise control systems of other vehicles via V2V communication in order to coordinate behavior at an early stage, keeping speed and distance and improving the flow of traffic.
