Family planning is an increase in community awareness and participation through maturing the age of marriage, birth control, fostering family resilience, increasing family welfare to create a small, happy and prosperous family. Belawan II Village, Medan Belawan District, where most of the population lives as fishermen and laborers with a medium economic level, very dense population settlements, surrounded by wide beaches and lack of public awareness and knowledge about family planning to make family planning coverage in the village. This is still low, namely 40% of the total couples of childbearing age. From the results of the observations of the puskesmas in accordance with the indicators of healthy families, it was found that the family index value based on families participating in the family planning program was 33%. The intervention carried out to overcome this problem was to provide counseling about family planning, distribution of posters and installation of banners as a form of family planning campaign. Counseling was carried out to 73 heads of families. All the families who attended were very enthusiastic about participating in the counseling. The distribution of posters and banners is done to serve as a reminder to the public about the importance of family planning. The results of the evaluation of this activity indicate a change in public knowledge about family planning.

Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) coverage in Sibolga city is still relatively low. This article aims to reconstruct the residents' understanding of the pillars of open defecation free (ODF) in Huta Tonga-Tonga Village, North Sibolga District. This activity is important to do in connection with the results of environmental observations and interviews with residents and health workers which highlight the understanding of personal hygiene and regional geographic conditions as the main obstacles. The socialization method was used in this work were lecturing in the form of counseling, measuring the volume of feces, compiling a flowchart of contamination by residents. The extension method is equipped with making BABS mapping, proper handwashing, and discussion of questions and answers with content of triggering elements. The resulting output is in the form of increased understanding of the importance of changing the behavior of open defecation and awareness of the potential diseases it can cause. In addition, the output can also be seen from the ability of residents to compile a fecal contamination flowchart. The follow-up of this activity is that the Health Office, the Sub-district side, the Puskesmas, and the Village Head should monitor and evaluate the results of the STBM triggering until finally the Huta Tonga-Tonga Village actually becomes a ODF Village.

To overcome the problem of low fetal weight (BBJR), then neonatal health problems can be resolved early. Recording, reporting and early intervention are necessary to avoid these losses. Including awareness of pregnant women in terms of fetal health status is an important key in the preventive paradigm. Therefore it is necessary to provide a light and simple application that pregnant women can use independently to find out whether their fetal weight status is normal or not. The activity of using this application is targeted at 164 pregnant women who have their pregnancy checked by midwives / obstetricians in Palembang City. The results of this activity are very helpful for mothers to know their fetal weight independently with the main display of the application which is very simple and easy to use; for shortcomings the operation of this application requires hardware in the form of a Personal Computer (PC). This tool will facilitate the data collection process for pregnant women with high risk, which in the future is expected to be integrated with the existing surveillance system in the health office

Ovitrap is one of the effective methods in controlling Aedes aegepty sp. Ovitrape is expected to be used by the community to reduce the incidence of dengue fever. The training using video media and leaflets is one way to increase the knowledge and skills of the community in making ovitrap. The purpose of this study was to determine the training in making ovitrap as an effort to reduce dengue hemorrhagic fever. This type of research is quasi-experimental research using a pretest-posttest design. The location in this study was conducted in Nagori Pematang Simalungun, Simalungun Regency. The sample of this research is the entire population (total sampling), namely all cadres who are still active as many as 40 people who are divided into two groups. This study will compare the knowledge and skills in making ovitrape in the film and leaflet media group. This study indicates that leaflet and film media can increase bad knowledge into good knowledge in making ovitrape. Leaflet and film media can improve skills in making ovitrape.Cadres have characteristics with the majority of the age 30-39 years old, complete junior high school education and work as housewives. Training using leaflets and video media can increase knowledge in making ovitrape. Leaflet and film media can improve skills in making ovitrape.

Indonesia is a country that is very prone to natural disasters. Nutritional problems that usually arise in natural disasters are malnutrition in the age group of infants and toddlers who do not get breast milk (ASI) because the child is separated from his mother when a natural disaster occurs. The worsening nutritional status of a group of people due to frequent delays in food aid and limited food availability in evacuation sites can exacerbate existing conditions. Nutrition problem is essentially a public health problem, however, the prevention cannot be done with a medical approach and health services. The cause of the emergence of nutritional problems is multi-factor, therefore the tackling approach involves various related sectors. Emergency nutrition management during a disaster becomes the first priority where food and nutrition services are an integral part of emergency management. Nutrition counseling provided by nutrition officers during a disaster emergency has significant meaning. Extension is an effort to change human behavior, both individuals and society so that it can create mental attitudes and the ability to solve problems it faces in order to improve and maintain good nutrition. The hope of this effort is that people can understand the importance of food and nutrition, so that they are willing to behave and act according to nutritional norms.
