Chiral and $U(1)_A$ restoration: Ward Identities and effective theories 手性与$U(1)_A$恢复:Ward恒等式与有效理论

We discuss our recent results regarding chiral and $U(1)_A$ restoration, both from the formal point of view of QCD Ward Identities (WI) and from an Effective Theory analysis provided by $U(3)$ Chiral Perturbation Theory (ChPT) at finite temperature. Our results lead to relevant conclusions regarding the behavior of chiral partners (in terms of susceptibilities) in the limit of exact restoration and provide useful results for lattice analysis. In addition, it helps to understand the temperature dependence of lattice screening masses in terms of quark condensate combinations. The U(3) ChPT calculation supports the conclusions obtained within the WI analysis. Finally, the role of the thermal $f_0(500)$ state in chiral symmetry restoration, regarding the scalar susceptibility, is also discussed.

Pion structure from lattice QCD 晶格QCD的介子结构

We present preliminary study of parton distribution inside the pion using mixed action approach with HYP smeared valence clover quarks on HISQ sea within the framework of Large Momentum Effective Theory. We use 2+1 flavor $48^3 times 64$ HISQ lattices with lattices spacing of a=0.06 fm and valence quark masses corresponding to pion mass of 300 MeV.

Atmospheric charm, QCD and neutrino astronomy 大气魅力,QCD和中微子天文学

We present predictions for the prompt-neutrino flux arising from the decay of charmed mesons and baryons produced by the interactions of high-energy cosmic rays in the Earth's atmosphere, making use of a QCD approach on the basis of the general-mass variable-flavor-number scheme for the description of charm hadroproduction at next-to-leading order, complemented by a consistent set of fragmentation functions. This same scheme is used for the description of charm hadroproduction at both the Tevatron and the Large Hadron Collider. We compare the theoretical predictions to those already obtained by our and other groups with different theoretical approaches. We provide comparisons with the experimental results obtained by the IceCube Collaboration and we discuss implications for parton distribution functions.

Baryonic or quarkyonic matter? 重子物质还是夸克子物质?

During the last years it has become possible to address the cold and dense regime of QCD directly for sufficiently heavy quarks, where combined strong coupling and hopping expansions are convergent and a 3d effective theory can be derived, which allows to control the sign problem either in simulations or by fully analytic calculations. In this contribution we review the effective theory and study the $N_c$-dependence of the nuclear liquid gas transition, as well as the equation of state of baryonic matter in the strong coupling limit. We find the transition to become more strongly first order with growing $N_c$, suggesting that in the large $N_c$ limit its critical endpoint moves to high temperatures to connect with the deconfinement transition. Furthermore, to leading and next-to-leading order in the strong coupling and hopping expansions, respectively, the pressure is found to scale as $psim N_c$. This suggests that baryonic and quarkyonic matter might be the same at nuclear densities. Further work is needed to see whether this result is stable under gauge corrections.

Composite Higgs Models: a new holographic approach 复合希格斯模型:一种新的全息方法

We revisit the construction of the composite Higgs models in a context of the bottom-up holographic approach. The soft wall framework is under consideration imposing the translation of the $4D$ global symmetry breaking characteristic to the new strongly interacting sector in the $5D$ bulk. The focus stays on the minimal $SO(5)to SO(4)$ breaking pattern. The $5D$ model has a specific form inspired by the effective models of QCD, representing a generalized sigma model coupled both to the composite resonances and to the SM gauge bosons. The latter are treated as external $4D$ sources and conceptually develop no propagation into the bulk. The holographic description allows for the consideration of spin one and spin zero resonances. The resulting spectrum leads in a natural way to a variety of new composite resonances, four of which represent the massless Goldstone bosons. Existing experimental constraints on the electroweak precision parameters permit to accommodate vector and scalar resonances with masses in the $1 - 2$ TeV range without difficulties, but higher masses are possible too. Moreover, for the SM gauge fields holography provides relevant vacuum polarization amplitudes and mixing with composite resonances. Further considering higher order correlation functions we can formulate semi-quantitative predictions for the effective couplings and cross-sections. These provide additional restrictions that are currently being investigated.

4d ensembles of percolating center vortices and chains 渗透中心涡和链的4d系综

In this work, we review a recently proposed measure to compute center-element averages in a mixed ensemble of center vortices and chains with non-Abelian d.o.f. and monopole fusion. When center vortices percolate and monopoles condense, the average is captured by a saddle point and collective modes in a YMH model. In this manner, the Luscher term, confining flux tubes with N-ality and confined gluons were accommodated in an ensemble picture.

Forward particle production in proton-nucleuscollisions at NLO

Reaching next-to-leading order accuracy in perturbative calculations of particle production in QCD at high energy is essential for reliable phenomenological applications. In recent years, the Color Glass Condensate effective theory (the natural framework for such calculations) has indeed been promoted to NLO accuracy. However, the first NLO calculation of single-inclusive hadron production met with an unexpected difficulty: the cross-section suddenly turns negative at transverse momenta of the order of a few GeV, in a range where perturbation theory is expected to be reliable. We summarize recent efforts to understand and solve this issue, as well as to develop a running coupling scheme that can be used to consistently describe various processes in this formalism.

Wigner function approach to polarization-vorticity coupling and hydrodynamics with spin 用Wigner函数求解极化涡度耦合和自旋流体力学

Newly introduced equilibrium Wigner functions for particles with spin one-half are used in the semi-classical kinetic equations to study a possible relation between thermal vorticity and spin polarization. It is shown that in global equilibrium both the thermal-vorticity and spin polarization tensors are constant but not necessarily equal. In the case of local equilibrium, we define a procedure leading to hydrodynamic equations with spin. We introduce such equations for the de~Groot, van~Leeuwen, and van~Weert (GLW) formalism as well as for the canonical scheme (these two frameworks differ by the definitions of the energy-momentum and spin tensors). It is found that the GLW and canonical versions are connected by a pseudo-gauge transformation.

It is shown that in global equilibrium both the thermal-vorticity and spin polarization tensors are constant but not necessarily equal. In the case of local equilibrium, we define a procedure leading to hydrodynamic equations with spin. We introduce such equations for the de~Groot, van~Leeuwen, and van~Weert (GLW) formalism as well as for the canonical scheme (these two frameworks differ by the definitions of the energy-momentum and spin tensors). Mass-deformed Yang-Mills theory in the covariant gauge and its gauge-invariant extension through the gauge-independent BEH mechanism 协变规范中的质量变形Yang-Mills理论及其通过与规范无关的BEH机构的规范不变推广

In this talk we consider the mass-deformed Yang-Mills theory in the covariant gauge which is obtained by just adding a gluon mass term to the Yang-Mills theory with the covariant gauge fixing term and the associated Faddeev-Popov ghost term. First, we reconfirm that the decoupling solution in the Landau gauge Yang-Mills theory is well reproduced from the mass-deformed Yang-Mills theory by taking into account loop corrections. Second, we show that the mass-deformed Yang-Mills theory is obtained as a gauge-fixed version of the gauge-invariantly extended theory which is identified with the gauge-scalar model with a single fixed-modulus scalar field in the fundamental representation of the gauge group. This equivalence is obtained as a consequence of the gauge-independent Brout-Englert-Higgs mechanism proposed recently by one of the authors. Third, we show that the reflection positivity is violated for any value of the parameters in the mass-deformed Yang-Mills theory to one-loop quantum corrections. Finally, we discuss the implications for the existence of positivity violation/restoration crossover in light of the Fradkin-Shenker continuity between Confinement-like and Higgs-like regions in a single confinement phase in the gauge-scalar model on the lattice.
