A novel pulse shaping method for Ultra-Wideband communications 一种新的超宽带通信脉冲整形方法

In order to enable Ultra-Wideband (UWB) spectral mask compatibility and provide simple hardware implementation, novel pulse shaping methods based on orthonormal Hermite functions are proposed to enable the pulses to fulfill given spectral mask. Simulation results show that the proposed method can be used to obtain pulses that fulfill the FCC spectral mask, optimize transmission power spectrum, and realize simple hardware implementation as well.

Relay protection for ladder-shaped shipboard transmission network with multiple modes 多模式梯形船载传输网的继电保护

This paper introduces the developing direction of power systems in future naval vessels, and summarizes the characters of present shipboard construction and protection. In order to find the most suitable protection scheme for future complicated systems, a ladder-shaped shipboard with multiple stations was simulated with software PSCAD/EMTDC. For comparison purposes, this paper discusses both the traditional shipboard power system protection and the longitudinal differential protection which is common in a land-based power system. It also analyzes how these protections work in different modes when a three-phase fault happens in different places at different time. A vector of the breakerspsila state is used to describe the changes of topology. From the simulation, the benefits and drawbacks of these protections used in such a system are spread out. This paper will give some suggestions for future researches on the shipboard power system protection.

Quantization adjusting algorithm using difference rate value 基于差分率值的量化调整算法

This paper presents a quantization parameter (QP) adjusting algorithm. In this work, final QP can be obtained by difference value of rate and distortion. In order to obtain the adjusted quantization, the method adopts quadratic relationship between DeltaR and DeltaQ, and uses the iteration processing. This adjusting process can be used in adaptive quantization algorithm in video compression coding such as MPEG standard. Simulation results demonstrate that this algorithm can adjust QP automatically and obtain the better performance in PSNR.

A new method of building detection from a single aerial photograph 基于单张航空照片的建筑物检测新方法

A novel approach based on multifold building features for the task of detecting buildings in aerial photograph is presented. Firstly, a coarse classification based on the texture features was used. Secondly, line adjacency and spectrum features detection are applied to select possible building regions. Thirdly, the fuzzy logic inference is applied to solve the problem of uncertainty and imprecision in building detection. This approach not only has the capability of detecting buildings effectively but also is easily understandable.

Lip feature extraction and reduction for HMM-based visual speech recognition systems 基于hmm的视觉语音识别系统的唇部特征提取与约简

Lipreading is a main part of audio-visual speech recognition systems which are mostly faced with redundancy of extracted features. In this paper, a new approach has been proposed to increase the lipreading performance by extraction of discriminant features. In this way, first, faces are detected; then, lip key points are extracted in which four cubic curves characterize lip contours. Next, the visual features are extracted from the contours for each frame. To discriminate each speech unit (word) from others, features of that speech unit frames are arranged in a feature vector. Moreover, differences of each frame features from k previous frame features are used to construct more informative feature vectors. To solve the small sample size problem, direct linear discriminant analysis (D-LDA) is employed to reduce the feature size. To classify these transformed features, hidden Markov model (HMM) is used to recognize the speech units. The proposed algorithm was applied on M2VTS database. Results show that applying of D-LDA for feature reduction provides the better classification accuracy compare to employ HMM without feature reduction.

Application of fingerprint recognition on the laboratory management 指纹识别在实验室管理中的应用

Focuses on the demand of the opening administration for the laboratory in high school, combined with the fingerprint recognition technology, this paper designs a universal laboratory management system, which contains checking on work attendance, students information management, querying and course management functions. The fingerprint recognition technology is analyzed in detail. The two manners of the computer system applying the fingerprint recognition technology both verification and identification are introduced. Using fingerprint collection technique, software program and database technology, the architecture of the system and the realization method of each function are provided. The system gets a good stability and accuracy through the practical test.

Design of communication interface in a video vehicular detection system based on ARM and DSP 基于ARM和DSP的视频车辆检测系统通信接口设计

A new design of dual-cored embedded video vehicular detection based on ARM processor S3C2410A and TMS320C6211 DSP is presented. It lays emphasis on the design of communication interface between ARM and DSP units, including hardware implementation and software program. Exploiting ARM-Linux as embedded operation system, ARM unit communicates with DSP unit in real time through the host port interface (HPI) of DSP. ARM regards the HPI as a character device to do operations such as reading and writing on it. Compared with common video vehicular detection systems, this system has advantages of small volume, low cost, low power consumption, good stability and expandability, facility of operation, friendly interface and high operating speed, and it can satisfy the demand on real-time.

Adaptive filter by using proportionate frequency domain extended correlation LMS algorithm in the double-talk condition 在双通条件下采用比例频域扩展相关LMS算法进行自适应滤波

Echo path estimation in echo canceling for teleconference system is a problem in double-talk condition. The correlation function based algorithms were defined by the authors to solve this problem. In this paper, in order to improve the convergence speed of correlation function based algorithm, we propose a new modified proportionate step-size adaptation method, and then implement it into frequency domain extended correlation LMS algorithm (FECLMS). The new algorithm is called proportionate frequency domain extended correlation LMS algorithm (PFECLMS). The computer simulation results support the theoretical findings and verify the robustness of the proposed algorithm in the double-talk situation.

A robust speaker recognition approach based on model compensation 一种基于模型补偿的鲁棒说话人识别方法

Model compensation is an important means to improve the robustness of speaker recognition in noise environment. The robust speaker recognition approach based on model compensation is proposed in this paper. The proposed method combines data reliability estimation and feature components effectiveness estimation, so the errors of the second kind due to the estimation error are reduced greatly. The proposed method estimates the reliability of data in time-frequency domain based on the fuzzy reasoning, and estimates the effectiveness of feature components in the current environment. Then according to the result of estimation, the model compensation in the noise environment is determined based on fuzzy reasoning to improve the robustness of speaker recognition. The experiments compared the proposed method to the missing data and feature selection combined method. The results showed that the proposed method is more effective in different noise environment.

The proposed method combines data reliability estimation and feature components effectiveness estimation, so the errors of the second kind due to the estimation error are reduced greatly. The proposed method estimates the reliability of data in time-frequency domain based on the fuzzy reasoning, and estimates the effectiveness of feature components in the current environment. Then according to the result of estimation, the model compensation in the noise environment is determined based on fuzzy reasoning to improve the robustness of speaker recognition. The experiments compared the proposed method to the missing data and feature selection combined method. Regression of SVM based robust watermarking algorithm 基于回归支持向量机的鲁棒水印算法

This paper presents a robust watermarking algorithm based on regression of SVM. The host image is divided into two parts firstly. The first one is to train SVM using features including four relationships between the neighbor pixels, and the other part is to embed watermarks. The center pixels of image blocks are compared with the predicted pixels of trained SVM, and then modified to embed watermarks. Because of the introduction of Pseudorandom Circular Chain (PCC) scheme, the training pixels and the test pixels can spread all over the host image, which increases accurate rate of the watermark-extraction. Otherwise, for the security consideration, logistic mapping is used to permute the watermark image. Experiment results demonstrate that this algorithm can get good perceptual invisibility, and robustness against many attacks.
