RESUMO Este artigo trata da urgencia de construcao de memoria desencadeada pela pandemia de COVID-19. Compara-o com o momento da gripe espanhola quando as pessoas preferiram “esquecer de lembrar”, referencia-se no movimento de valorizacao da memoria e do testemunho nas sociedades ocidentais contemporâneas, e, utilizando o metodo documental, apresenta o projeto colaborativo Objetos da Quarentena, cuja proposta e aprofundar a discussao sobre o papel dos objetos na intermediacao das relacoes humanas e construcao da memoria em tempos de isolamento social. A analise preliminar aponta que objetos escrevem e inscrevem nossas memorias, enquanto narramos esse tempo de confinamento.

The article examines the practices of conservation of the cultural heritage adopted by the federal government since the democratization of the country in the 1980s, focusing on the heritages nominated by the "tombamento" and "registro". It analyzes to what extent national identity concepts traditionally welcomed by IPHAN since the Vargas dictatorship have been effectively revised when new protected heritages are selected.

The article intends to analyze the intersections between cinema, public history and the circularity of historical knowledge. The reflections are developed following the study of the film Chico Rei (directed by Walter Lima Jr., 1985). The dimensions of public history are considered as a space for the production and dissemination of historical knowledge, in dialogue with other areas, not necessarily academic ones. The film with a historical theme is discussed in view of historical knowledge following the analysis of the social imageries present in the films, that are built in the interface between historiography and other narrative fields such as literature, music and carnival.

Gustavo Barroso (1888-1959) colaborou na revista O Cruzeiro entre 1948 e 1960 assinando a secao “Segredos e revelacoes da Historia do Brasil”, dedicada a divulgacao de fatos da historia patria nao abordados nos meios convencionais. Desejava atrair a atencao dos leitores para o passado de modo a estimular o patriotismo. O presente artigo analisa essa producao e a compreende como uma experiencia de historia publica, a partir da qual grandes feitos e herois sao exaltados sob a perspectiva das curiosidades desconhecidas do grande publico. O trabalho aqui apresentado caracteriza essa narrativa e suas estrategias para atingir os objetivos pedagogicos da secao.

The aim of this article is to present aspects of the political career of Amilcar Cabral in the context of the struggle for liberation in Guinea-Bissau between the decades of 1950 and 1970, and then analyse how the Brazilian educator Paulo Freire, from his experience of literacy in Guinea-Bissau in 1974, was inspired by Cabral's political action and theoretical production. Through this historical reconstruction we intend to promote reflections on colonialism and, as Amilcar Cabral would say, on "liberation struggle as a factor of culture".

The themes that were studied by scholars and politicians interested in the agrarian issue in Portugal throughout the centuries are also present in literature dealing with the agrarian world. During the 20th century, the literary current that most strongly expressed the social concerns of the rural world was Neorealism. This study of the universe of neorealist authors and themes has the purpose of synthesizing images that were constructed over the Alentejo region, in the southern part of Portugal, and which were important for the agrarian reform that took place in the Alentejo in 1975.

The present article aims to articulate individual experiences in the interpretation of collective culture, by means of examining the influence of flavors experienced by Câmara Cascudo in his trip to Portugal in 1947 in his writing of History of food in Brazil. The article is based on the notion that the taste of food carries cultural and historical influences, as well as individual experiences. It presents fragments of Cascudo's personal memories and the arguments with which he defends traditional Brazilian cuisine, in order to identify the influence of individual taste experiences in his history of food.

Tourism studies have highlighted the quest for novelty and the exotic in the tourist experience and have given a prominent role to class-determined aesthetic sensibilities in the consumption of places. This paper engages with these debates through empirical examination of the feelings and practices of tourists in the Spanish Mediterranean. The existing literatures ignores the complex ways in which holiday destinations are entangled in generational change, mobility patterns and perceptions of landscape dynamics. It concludes by advocating a type of tourism studies that take history seriously in order to understand critical turning points and path dependencies in landscape change.
