In Smart Cities, vehicles can share intentions and retrieve information through IoT (Internet-of-Things) devices. This work proposes a reservation system that exploits communication between vehicles and city infrastructure to reduce the time a road user needs to find parking. The system is designed to manage the coexistence of next-generation vehicles, that communicate with city infrastructure and traditional vehicles that don't. We reconstructed an IoT-instrumented urban area using the MATSim simulator to evaluate the system. The proposed system reduces the parking search time of next-generation vehicles without disadvantaging traditional vehicles, making it a candidate for scenarios where both vehicle types coexist. Multi-core architectures have grown to be a popular choice for deploying Mixed Criticality Systems (MCS). The focus of research in MCS has been to provide timing assurances for jobs with different criticality levels. Due to their significant processing demands and energy-aware/constrained nature, energy conservation in these systems is becoming mandatory. This article presents, mcDVFS, an energy management technique based on Dynamic-Voltage-and-Frequency-Scaling for multi-core MCS. mcDVFS achieves significant energy reduction while maintaining timing guarantees. It also prioritizes quality of service whenever feasible. Extensive experimental simulations show energy savings of ≈ 52% and 34% when compared to EDF-VD and EDF-VD with QoS.

Defining adaption measures for organisational multi-agent systems 定义组织多主体系统的适应措施

Designing adaptive multi-agent Systems (MAS) is a challenging development effort. A key point of adaptive systems is that they provide alternative options for acting and designers have to weight the number and elaboration of these alternatives. Here, we concentrate on organisation-oriented MAS and show that organisational models provide suitable means for identifying key measures of this adaptivity. We derive measures both from the static description of the organisation as well as from the induced adaptation dynamics grounded on a Markovian analysis of the behaviour. These measures allow for a goal-directed planning of adaption.

Hypermedia Multi-Agent System (MAS) Simulation is a novel approach to building agent-based simulations in which the environment is modelled as a set of linked hypermedia resources that are implemented using microservices. This paper discusses the implementation of an prototypical simulation system based on this concept and the lessons learnt in the process.

The rapid adoption of Cloud, Fog, and Edge computing paradigms, along with Digital Twin (DT) technology, is being observed across numerous domains. Smart Agriculture is one such domain, where diverse requirements exist for applications that range from Augmented Reality, Satellite, and auto harvesters to a multitude of agricultural devices and sensors. While the integration of Cloud, Fog, and Edge computing can address various challenges, it can also pose some difficulties, including resource allocation, resource scheduling, and task scheduling. To address these challenges and enhance the productivity and sustainability of Smart Agriculture, this paper presents a novel architecture based on Cloud, Fog, Edge computing, and Multi-Agent Systems (MAS), incorporating the concept of Digital Twin. This proposed architecture is implemented in Smart Agricultural farms and fields, opening up new contemporary applications in the Agriculture domain.

Exploiting autonomy in a User-IoT system collaborative trust model 利用用户-物联网系统协同信任模型中的自主性

Smart devices have a significant presence in our life. Humans and artificial entities are continuously interfacing across a variety of scenarios such as smart transportation, smart healthcare, smart grid, smart city, etc. Nevertheless, there are still different critical points to be faced. Among the many, given the ever-growing potential for action, a major issue concerns the autonomy of these devices. We propose a possible solution on how IoT devices may act to get more autonomy, in relation to the specific user they interface with. Thus, we considered a possible implementation in a simulation context, showing how the proposed approach works.
