This study views STEM as a space with the potential to dismantle the narrow disciplinary silos that have led to inequitable gaps in achievement. Responding to the latest recommendations for teachers from NCTM and NSTA, this study aims to examine the instructional design of secondary mathematics and science pre-service teachers in an interdisciplinary STEM lesson about a pandemic. Starting with two images, teachers are asked to design the associated activities that they would implement in the classroom. Researchers utilized a qualitative methodology based on the categories of the 5E Model: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate. The findings highlight responses to each of the 5E factors are very mixed. Teaching strategies consisting of posing questions predominate, promoting the Engage factor; while the Explore factor is barely considered, which could hinder the incorporation of group skills and critical thinking. This study offers a pathway on how to assess the professional learning of novice teachers following the 5E model through a contextualized activity with bacterial growth.

The article reveals some aspects of the problem of transforming the Ukrainian design education system through the prism of international experience. This problem is caused by the long-term neglect of the importance of the humanitarian segment of education in Ukraine, which, in turn, has become a determinant of the accumulation of numerous problems. In order to achieve the goal and objectives, it was important, firstly, to refer to the relevant source base, and secondly, to analyse certain aspects of the educational activities of higher education institutions abroad, in particular Seian University of Art and Design (Otsu, Shiga, Japan), Royal Collage of Art (London, Great Britain), KEDGE Design School (Marseille, France), Istituto Pantheon Design & Technology (Rome, Italy). The analytical and synthetic activities carried out allowed us to identify the best international practices in this area and propose vectors for the transformation of domestic design education. These include: multidirectional international cooperation; introduction of a practical component of student training on the basis of business institutions and enterprises; focus on the educational needs of students; active use of digital innovative technologies, etc. We see the prospects for further research in this direction in the practical application of the proposed steps to modernise design education.

The purpose of the article is to analyse the Google Classroom learning cloud environment, to identify its advantages and disadvantages in the modern information and digital society, as well as to achieve this goal, the methods of analysis, synthesis, deduction, and induction were used, and also a survey that allowed to evaluate and to establish the advantages and disadvantages of using Google Classroom in the educational process was conducted. The results focus on the peculiarities of this learning platform the functioning and practical assessments of its potential. The author emphasises the peculiarities of organising video meetings, creating and editing training courses, publishing announcements, grades, and establishing feedback from teachers. Google Classroom boasts significant features, such as seamless integration with other company services, a robust security policy, and widespread accessibility across iOS and Android devices. Nonetheless, the realm of digital learning technologies is continuously evolving at a rapid pace. Consequently, it is only a matter of time before the next advancement in cloud-based learning environments emerges. According to survey findings, Google Classroom's ability to personalize students' educational paths is rated relatively modestly. As a result, future improvements in this aspect are likely to be necessary to enhance its efficacy further.
