Geography and environment play a vital role in shaping the motifs and themes of the Idu Mishmi funeral narratives. The description of places, mountains, cliffs, valleys, rivers and gorges etc. with different species of animals, plants and spirits form the allegorical representation of the elements of nature. In the subjective component of the Idu Mishmi death ritual, nature’s shape, formations and objects not only become the driving force but also become essential parts of the culture. As a whole, nature and nature’s formations become the necessary components that determine the thought process and spiritual sustenance of the community. This dimension explores the community's attitudes to the environment are conditioned by their traditional beliefs that have played a crucial role in the conservation of the environment and organisms in their region so far. This paper looks at the Idu Mishmi Community's approach to the Environment as manifested in the funeral rite Ya and attempts to understand how this aspect has been a driving force in the conservation of ecology.

The study examined the morphophonemic alternations in derivation of nouns in Ekegusii to describe the types of derived nouns, the phonological processes involved in the nominal derivation and to formulate phonological constraints of prefixation. A descriptive research design was employed to collect, analyze and describe data. A list of 50 derived nominal was generated, Rogooro dialect speakers of Ekegusii in Moi University were identified to verify data. Sample data were obtained from each noun class through purposive sampling which were analyzed and coded into semantic classes and explained using Transderivational AntiFaithfulness (TAF) Theory. Findings of the study indicate that nominal derivation forms deverbal, deadjectival, diminutive and abstract nominals. Noun Class prefixes induce vowel deletion, alternation and lengthening, consonant mutation, deletion and nasal assimilation because of unfaithful mappings of inputs to the outputs as a result of the interaction of markedness and faithfulness constraints in Optimality and TAF Theories.

The call to stay woke emerged in the early 19th century as a metaphor for social justice. However, despite early exposure, this globally perceived culture was obscured in some communities. The proponents utilized Creative Research and interviewed active individuals in this echo chamber: one public historian and a professor, one journalist who writes primarily on pop culture to debunk the roots of this culture, and five participants from different universities and organizations in the Philippines who are actively participating in the social and political discourses. The researcher found that the term woke is more prevalent within left politics while the critics are right-winged. However, both could be a target, especially if their political stance no longer favors the government. With the help of existing studies and respondents, the proponents have magnified the idea; contrary to the widespread presumptions, the wokeness of Filipinos is the effect of social realities, and activism is a norm in such culture. Furthermore, the creation is apparent in Philippine democracy; it has been subject to democratic pitfalls because of political polarization resulting from canceling culture. Today, slang embraces progressive activism and is evident in our information ecosystems. This study is vital to human society regardless of their stance and affiliated circle.

Most often, when children are neglected and abused, this situation dangerously impact both their souls and minds. Observably, many children are unfortunately exposed to both neglect and abuse in various environments. Toni Morrison’s The Bluest Eye is a profound showcase of a careful building of a (female) character traumatized by hurting attitudes from parents. Heavily depending on trauma theory, this paper offers a detailed insight into the protagonist’s experiences saturated by lifelong impacts of neglect and abuse.

This paper investigated the use of defective verbs. The data were collected by the means of written continuous assessment administered to one hundred and fifty EFL learners of English Department of the University of Doba. They were analyzed through Corder’s (1967) Error Analysis (EA) approach. The results of this study revealed that those students encountered a lot of difficulties in using defective verbs in their essays. Five types of errors have been identified. These include the insertion of complete infinitive after defective verbs, the adding of ‘-ed’ at the end of defective verbs, the use of preterit after defective verbs, the adding of ‘s’ at the end of defective verbs and the use of ‘do’ with defective verbs in negative form and interrogative form. The analysis indicated that 37.81% of error regarded the insertion of complete infinitive after defective verbs, 18.48% concerned the adding of ‘-ed’ at the end of defective verbs, 17.64% concerned the use of preterit after defective verbs, 15.96% concerned the adding of ‘s’ at the end of defective verbs and 10.08% regarded the use of ‘do’ with defective verbs. These errors are influenced by the phenomenon of overgeneralization of English grammatical rules on the one hand and the lack of mastery of the use of defective verbs on the other hand.

This paper attempts to bring new women in Manju Kapur’s A Married Woman taking into account the hopefulness and frustration in domestic life. With diverse cultures, histories, and distinct forms of ethics and values, the women’s question, despite essential solidarity, needs to be tackled about the socio-cultural circumstances. The lives of women who survived and struggled under the suppressive mechanism of a restricted society can be manifested in the novels of Kapur. She has written fiction focusing on the predicament of contemporary women particularly in their struggle for empowerment and independence from the male- chauvinistic social structure. Now “Woman Question” is no longer a problem limited to the condition of women within the family or their rights to equality with men in different facets of social life. It is part of the total, far broader question considering the direction of change that Indian society is making - social, political, economic, and the intellectual viewpoint and examination of that process.

This study explores the psyche of female characters in Sudha Murthy‟s 'Dollar Bahu.' 'Psyche' refers to the totality of elements forming the mind – all the elements that form a human mind are collectively called the psyche. To understand someone‟s psyche, we need to comprehend their thoughts, behavior, and personality. This paper aims to analyze the psyche of only the female characters in the novel 'Dollar Bahu.' Upon its publication, the book garnered significant success. Within its pages, Sudha Murthy skillfully portrays the Indian value system and family relationships. Sudha Murthy is a distinguished Indian writer who consistently addresses reallife incidents in her novels.
