Classifying Functions via growth rates of repeated iterations 通过重复迭代的增长率对函数进行分类

In this paper we develop a classification of real functions based on growthrates of repeated iteration. We show how functions are naturallydistinguishable when considering inverses of repeated iterations. For example,$n+2to 2nto 2^nto 2^{cdot^{cdot^2}}$ ($n$-times) etc. and their inversefunctions $x-2, x/2, log x/log 2,$ etc. Based on this idea and someregularity conditions we define classes of functions, with $x+2$, $2x$, $2^x$in the first three classes. We prove various properties of these classes whichreveal their nature, including a `uniqueness' property. We exhibit examples offunctions lying between consecutive classes and indicate how this implies thesegaps are very `large'. Indeed, we suspect the existence of a continuum of suchclasses.

Factorization and piecewise affine approximation of bi-Lipschitz mappings on large sets 大集合上双唇隙映射的因式分解和片断仿射逼近

A well-known open problem asks whether every bi-Lipschitz homeomorphism of$mathbb{R}^d$ factors as a composition of mappings of small distortion. Weshow that every bi-Lipschitz embedding of the unit cube $[0,1]^d$ into$mathbb{R}^d$ factors into finitely many global bi-Lipschitz mappings of smalldistortion, outside of an exceptional set of arbitrarily small Lebesguemeasure, which cannot in general be removed. Our main tool is a corona-typedecomposition theorem for bi-Lipschitz mappings. As corollaries, we obtain arelated factorization result for bi-Lipschitz homeomorphisms of the $d$-sphere,and we show that bi-Lipschitz embeddings of the unit $d$-cube in $mathbb{R}^d$can be approximated by global piecewise affine homeomorphisms outside of asmall set.

Symmetry of bounded solutions to quasilinear elliptic equations in a half-space 半空间准线性椭圆方程有界解的对称性

Let $u$ be a bounded positive solution to the problem $-Delta_p u = f(u)$ in$mathbb{R}^N_+$ with zero Dirichlet boundary condition, where $p>1$ and $f$ isa locally Lipschitz continuous function. Among other things, we show that if$f(sup_{mathbb{R}^N_+} u)=0$ and $f$ satisfies some other mild conditions,then $u$ depends only on $x_N$ and monotone increasing in the $x_N$-direction.Our result partially extends a classical result of Berestycki, Caffarelli andNirenberg in 1993 to the $p$-Laplacian.

Local existence for systems of conservation laws with partial diffusion 具有部分扩散的守恒律系统的局部存在性

This paper is dedicated to the study of the local existence theory of theCauchy problem for symmetric hyperbolic partially diffusive systems (also knownas hyperbolic-parabolic system) in dimension $dge 1$. The system underconsideration is a coupling between a symmetric hyperbolic system and aparabolic system. We address the question of well-posedness for large datahaving critical Besov regularity. This improves the analysis of Serrecite{Serr10} and Kawashima cite{Kawashima83}. Our results allow for initialdata whose components have different regularities and we enlarge the class ofthe components experiencing the diffusion to $H^s$, with $s>d/2$ (instead of$s>d/2+1$ in Serre's work and $s>d/2+2$ in Kawashima's one). Our results relyon Gr{a}rding's inequality, composition estimates and product laws. As anexample, we consider the Navier-Stokes-Fourier equations.

We continue to study a quintic Z2-equivariant Li'enard system $dot x=y,doty=-(a_0x+a_1x^3+a_2x^5)-(b_0+b_1x^2)y$ with $a_2b_1ne 0$, arising from thecomplex Ginzburg-Landau equation. Global dynamics of the system have beenstudied in [{it SIAM J. Math. Anal.}, {bf 55}(2023) 5993-6038] when the sumof the indices of all equilibria is $-1$, i.e., $a_2<0$. The aim of this paperis to study the global dynamics of this quintic Li'enard system when the sumof the indices of all equilibria is $1$, i.e., $a_2>0$.

On the asymptotics of real solutions for the Painlevé I equation 论潘列特 I方程实解的渐近性

In this paper, we revisit the asymptotic formulas of real Painlev'e Itranscendents as the independent variable tends to negative infinity, whichwere initially derived by Kapaev with the complex WKB method. Using theRiemann-Hilbert method, we improve the error estimates of the oscillatory typeasymptotics and provide precise error estimates of the singular typeasymptotics. We also establish the corresponding asymptotics for the associatedHamiltonians of real Painlev'e I transcendents. In addition, two typos in thementioned asymptotic behaviors in literature are corrected.

Finite Bivariate Biorthogonal M-Konhauser Polynomials 有限双变量双谐波 M-康豪斯多项式

In this paper, we construct the pair of finite bivariate biorthogonalM-Konhauser polynomials, reduced to the finite orthogonal polynomials$M_{n}^{(p,q)}(t)$, by choosing appropriate parameters in order to obtain arelation between the Jacobi Konhauser polynomials and this new finite bivariatebiorthogonal polynomials $_{K}M_{n;upsilon}^{(p,q)}(z,t)$ similar to therelation between the classical Jacobi polynomials $P_{n}^{(p,q)}(t)$ and thefinite orthogonal polynomials $M_{n}^{(p,q)}(t)$. Several properties likegenerating function, operational/integral representation are derived and someapplications like fractional calculus, Fourier transform and Laplace transformare studied thanks to that new transition relation and the definition of finitebivariate M-Konhauser polynomials.

We prove Sobolev-Poincar'e and Poincar'e inequalities in variable Lebesguespaces $L^{p(cdot)}(Omega)$, with $Omegasubset{mathbb R}^n$ a bounded Johndomain, with weaker regularity assumptions on the exponent $p(cdot)$ that havebeen used previously. In particular, we require $p(cdot)$ to satisfy a newemph{boundary $log$-H"older condition} that imposes some logarithmic decayon the oscillation of $p(cdot)$ towards the boundary of the domain. Somecontrol over the interior oscillation of $p(cdot)$ is also needed, but it isgiven by a very general condition that allows $p(cdot)$ to be discontinuous atevery point of $Omega$. Our results follows from a local-to-global argumentbased on the continuity of certain Hardy type operators. We provide examplesthat show that our boundary $log$-H"older condition is essentially necessaryfor our main results. The same examples are adapted to show that this conditionis not sufficient for other related inequalities. Finally, we give anapplication to a Neumann problem for a degenerate $p(cdot)$-Laplacian.
