Two newly recorded species of the family Gnaphosidae (Araneae) from Japan 标题日本蛛科二新种
Q4 Agricultural and Biological Sciences Pub Date : 2019-06-30 DOI: 10.2476/asjaa.68.7
Takahide Kamura
Two gnaphosid species, Heser infumatus (O. Pickard-Cambridge 1872) and Hongkongia reptrix Deeleman-Reinhold 2001, are reported as new records from Japan. The genera Heser Tuneva 2004 and Hongkongia Song & Zhu 1998 are recorded from Japan for the first time. Heser infumatus is distinguished from the other Japanese species of the subfamily Zelotinae by the epigyne with a pair of transvers furrows (copulatory openings) in median part. Hongkongia reptrix is separated from the other Japanese gnaphosids by having the posterior eyes closely situated to one another, the posterior eye row distinctly procurved, and the long spinnerets.

A new species of the genus Stedocys (Araneae: Scytodidae), from Japan 标题日本剑虫属一新种(蜘蛛目:剑虫科)
Q4 Agricultural and Biological Sciences Pub Date : 2019-06-30 DOI: 10.2476/asjaa.68.15

― A new scytodid species of the genus Stedocys is described as Stedocys amamiensis sp. nov. from Amami-Ôshima, Japan. This species is similar to S. gaolingensis Wu & Li 2017 from China, but can be distinguished from it by having stouter embolus and abdominal markings on the midline. The genus Stedocys is newly recorded from Japan, and this record is the northeasternmost area for the genus. For future study, partial sequence data of mt-COI gene of the new species is documented.

During a survey of the gnaphosid spider fauna of Iran, two interesting species of Drassodes Westring 1851 were collected. Drassodes marusiki sp. n. (♂♀, Isfahan Province, central Iran) is described as new to science, and its relationship with the closely related D. bifidus Kovblyuk & Seyyar 2009 (Turkey) is discussed, and Drassodes robatus Roewer 1961, which was originally described from Afghanistan, is recorded for the fauna of Iran for the first time; a redescription for its male and the first description for its female are provided.

― The first inventory of the spider fauna of the Lut Desert, known as one of the hottest deserts in the world, is provided. Spiders collected during the Iranian Biological Expedition in November 2016 are reported. We identified 15 species belonging to 12 families, including the new species, Oecobius fahimii sp. n. (female, Oecobiidae), which is described and illustrated here. In addition, three species – Devade tenella (Tyshchen-ko 1965) (Dictynidae), Gnaphosa ukrainica Ovtsharenko, Platnick et Song 1992 and Haplodrassus caspius Ponomarev et Belosludtsev 2008 (both Gnaphosidae) – are reported from Iran for the first time.

A new species of Cyclosa (Araneae: Araneidae) from Southeast Asia 标题东南亚环蛛属一新种(蜘蛛目:蜘蛛科)
Q4 Agricultural and Biological Sciences Pub Date : 2018-12-31 DOI: 10.2476/ASJAA.67.87
A. Tanikawa, B. Petcharad
– A new species of Cyclosa is described under the name of Cyclosa bulla n. sp. using specimens collected from Thailand, Singapore and Brunei. Females of the species can be easily distinguished from other congeners by the shape of the abdomen, which has a globose posterior end. In contrast, males cannot be distinguished from those of Cyclosa bifida, which seems to be the most closely related species, even by the shape of the palpal organ. In this study, male specimens are identified by DNA barcoding.
