The article will present the results of research carried out under the Innovation Incubator 2.0 project in the 2018/2019 school year in a selected kindergarten, in a metropolitan environment (Łódź). All the project activities involved the implementation of three areas: first, constructing the program assumptions of the ‘Two Languages – One Way’ project and analysing the educational market, and second, developing a cultural ‘toolkit’ (Bruner, 2010, p. 35) in the form of demonstration charts and methodological aids, thirdly, testing the final product “Two Languages – One Way” by the teacher of glottodidactics. Ostracism is an aversive experience and may lead to a decrease in empathy. However, according to previous findings, exclusion may cause positive emotions and an increase in prosocial responses as well. We anticipated that these ambiguities in results might be caused by gender. The results of the two studies indicate that, indeed, ostracism is related to a drop in empathy among men and an increase in empathy among women. The difference in responding with empathy among men and women may be due to diverse evolutionary patterns of reacting and the social functioning of men and women. Although the described differences between men and women may also be a result of socialisation the process, we focus on an evolutionary perspective in the present article. keywords: ostracism, empathy, exclusion in a close relationship.
