This section of the book titled Homer's Winged Words presents some illustrations and maps of Paisos, Ithome and Isos. The illustrations include the speech spectrogram of the author uttering a sentence, the reconstruction of the text Iliad from various periods, the mural crown of the goddess Tyche (Fortuna), the heavily reconstructed figure of the bird and the bath tub from the Palace of Nestor. The book is an attempt to shed new light, via the tenets of oral-formulaic theory, on the evolution and meaning of several dozen words and phrases found in early Greek epic whose etymologies have puzzled philologists for over 2500 years.Keywords: Greek epic; Homer; Isos; Ithome; Paisos; philologist
