Abstract Let 𝒭 be a commutative ring with unity, 𝒜, 𝒝 be 𝒭-algebras, 𝒨 be (𝒜, 𝒝)-bimodule and 𝒩 be (𝒝, 𝒜)-bimodule. The 𝒭-algebra 𝒢 = 𝒢(𝒜, 𝒨, 𝒩, 𝒝) is a generalized matrix algebra defined by the Morita context (𝒜, 𝒝, 𝒨, 𝒩, ξ𝒨𝒩, Ω𝒩𝒨). In this article, we study Jordan σ-derivations on generalized matrix algebras.

A note on adaptivity in factorized approximate inverse preconditioning 关于因式近似逆预处理的自适应问题

Abstract The problem of solving large-scale systems of linear algebraic equations arises in a wide range of applications. In many cases the preconditioned iterative method is a method of choice. This paper deals with the approximate inverse preconditioning AINV/SAINV based on the incomplete generalized Gram–Schmidt process. This type of the approximate inverse preconditioning has been repeatedly used for matrix diagonalization in computation of electronic structures but approximating inverses is of an interest in parallel computations in general. Our approach uses adaptive dropping of the matrix entries with the control based on the computed intermediate quantities. Strategy has been introduced as a way to solve di cult application problems and it is motivated by recent theoretical results on the loss of orthogonality in the generalized Gram– Schmidt process. Nevertheless, there are more aspects of the approach that need to be better understood. The diagonal pivoting based on a rough estimation of condition numbers of leading principal submatrices can sometimes provide inefficient preconditioners. This short study proposes another type of pivoting, namely the pivoting that exploits incremental condition estimation based on monitoring both direct and inverse factors of the approximate factorization. Such pivoting remains rather cheap and it can provide in many cases more reliable preconditioner. Numerical examples from real-world problems, small enough to enable a full analysis, are used to illustrate the potential gains of the new approach.

Abstract Let R be a commutative ring and M an R-module. In this article, we introduce the concept of S-2-absorbing submodule. Suppose that S ⊆ R is a multiplicatively closed subset of R. A submodule P of M with (P :R M) ∩ S = ∅ is said to be an S-2-absorbing submodule if there exists an element s ∈ S and whenever abm ∈ P for some a, b ∈ R and m ∈ M, then sab ∈ (P :R M) or sam ∈ P or sbm ∈ P. Many examples, characterizations and properties of S-2-absorbing submodules are given. Moreover, we use them to characterize von Neumann regular modules in the sense [9].

On Constraint Manifolds of Lorentz Sphere 论洛伦兹球的约束流形

Abstract The expression of the structure equation of a mechanism is significant to present the last position of the mechanism. Moreover, in order to attain the constraint manifold of a chain, we need to constitute the structure equation. In this paper, we determine the structure equations and the constraint manifolds of a spherical open-chain in the Lorentz space. The structure equations of spherical open chain with reference to the causal character of the first link are obtained. Later, the constraint manifolds of the mechanism are determined by means of these equations. The geometric constructions corresponding to these manifolds are studied.

Abstract In this paper we present limit theorems for lifetime distributions connected with network’s reliability as distributions of random variables(r.v.) min(Y1, Y2,..., YM) and max(Y1, Y2,..., YM ), where Y1, Y2,..., are independent, identically distributed random variables (i.i.d.r.v.), M being Power Series Distributed (PSD) r.v. independent of them and, at the same time, Yk, k = 1, 2, ..., being a sum of non-negative, i.i.d.r.v. in a Pascal distributed random number.

Abstract In this paper we are going to investigate a free boundary value problem for the anisotropic N-Laplace operator on a ring domain Ω:=Ω0Ω¯1⊂𝕉N Omega : = {Omega _0}backslash {bar Omega _1} subset {mathbb{R}^N} , N ≥ 2. Our aim is to show that if the problem admits a solution in a suitable weak sense, then the underlying domain Ω is a Wulff shaped ring. The proof makes use of a maximum principle for an appropriate P-function, in the sense of L.E. Payne and some geometric arguments involving the anisotropic mean curvature of the free boundary.

Congruences of Sheffer stroke basic algebras Sheffer笔划基本代数的同余性

Abstract In this paper, congruences and (order, prime and compatible) filters are introduced in Sheffer stroke basic algebras. They are interrelated with each other. Also some relationships between filters and congruences by focusing on their properties in these structures are given. In addition to these, a basic algebra is constructed by the help of compatible filter and 𝒜/ Θ (F). Moreover, a representation theorem for Sheffer stroke basic algebra by using prime filters and 𝒜/ Θ (F) is stated and proved.

Abstract The family of finite local Frobenius non-chain rings of length 5 and nilpotency index 4 is determined, as a by-product all finite local Frobenius non-chain rings with p5 elements (p a prime) and nilpotency index 4 are given. And the number and structure of γ-constacyclic codes over those rings, of length relatively prime to the characteristic of the residue field of the ring, are determined.

Iterative Solution of Weighted Linear Least Squares Problems 加权线性最小二乘问题的迭代解

Abstract In this report we show that the iterated regularization scheme due to Riley and Golub, sometimes also called the iterated Tikhonov regularization, can be generalized to damped least squares problems where the weights matrix D is not necessarily the identity but a general symmetric and positive definite matrix. We show that the iterative scheme approaches the same point as the unique solutions of the regularized problem, when the regularization parameter goes to 0. Furthermore this point can be characterized as the solution of a weighted minimum Euclidean norm problem. Abstract A plume model is used to describe the variation of the salt concentration at the discharge of a river into a saline water. The integral model of the plume behavior consists of a set of ordinary differential equations derived from conservation of mass, momentum and salt concentration. The temperatures of the plume and ambient saline water are considered equal. The concentration of the salt in the river water is null. The saline water is assumed motionless. After release from the river, the concentration of the salt in the plume increases by mixing with the ambient saline water. The rate of mixing depends upon the local plume and ambient fluid properties such as velocity and salt concentration.
