VACTERL association represents a rare condition with a broad spectrum of coexisting congenital abnormalities. Although a multifactorial origin has been described, the etiology is still unclear. Prenatal diagnosis can be challenging, as specific characteristics may be difficult to be determined before birth. This case report describes the finding of multiple congenital abnormalities in a male fetus at 30 weeks of gestation. The most notable findings were the presence of duodenal stenosis, esophageal atresia with distal tracheoesophageal fistula (type 3), interatrial septal communication foramen ovale, and left nostril and choana agenesis. After birth and making a broad differential diagnosis, all these characteristics oriented the diagnosis towards the VACTERL association. To the best of our knowledge, no cases of VACTERL association and unilateral nostril and choana agenesis have been previously described.

Background: In developing countries, postpartum hemorrhage is responsible for 30% of maternal deaths. Although the World Health Organization recommends the use of oxytocin for the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage, the use of misoprostol is increasingly common. The objective of this study was to determine the frequency of postpartum hemorrhage in parturients delivering at Saint-Vincent Hospital and to compare the effectiveness of misoprostol use versus oxytocin in preventing postpartum hemorrhage. Material and Methods: We conducted a comparative longitudinal study at the Saint Vincent Hospital comparing 10 units of intramuscular oxytocin with 600 micrograms of sublingual misoprostol. The study was conducted from 01 January 2017 to 31 December 2019, a period of 3 years. The study population consisted of 2161 consenting women. Of these, 1289 received 10 IU of intramuscular oxytocin and 872 received 600 micrograms of misoprostol. The collected data were entered using Microsoft Excel 2013 and analysed using SPSS version 21 software. Results: The frequency of administration of Misoprostol and oxytocin in parturients was 40.4% and 59.6% respectively in this study. One hundred and fourteen cases of

Introduction: Evacuation refers to the rapid transfer of a patient in an emergency, from one health center to another more equipped and better specialized. The objective of this study was to study maternal mortality in patients evacuated to the gynecology and obstetrics department at the Fousseyni Daou Hospital in Kayes over a period of 10 years. Materials and Methods: This was a descriptive, cross-sectional, retrospective study over nine years from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2019 and prospective over one year from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020 involving all patients or parturients evacuated for obstetrical causes and died in the gynecology-obstetrics department of the Fousseyni Daou Hospital. Confidentiality and anonymity were respected. The processing and analysis of the statistical data was carried out using SPSS

Background: Twin birth is considered a high-risk obstetrical situation. Despite the progress in obstetrical and pediatric care that has occurred in recent years, twin delivery is still associated with high maternal morbidity and peri-natal mortality. Few recent studies have focused on the complications and risk factors associated with complications of twin birth in our environment. The objective of our study was to identify the complications of twin birth and the factors associated with them. Methodology: We carried out a cross-sectional analytical study. Data collection was prospective, over a period of 4 months (January 1, 2022 to April 30, 2022), at the maternity units of the Gyneco-Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital of Yaoundé and the Central Hospital of Yaoundé. The study population included all pregnant women who gave birth to twins during our study period at these hospitals. Data analysis was done using the SPSS software (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) version 23.0. The Chi-square test was used to compare proportions and the student’s t test to compare
(Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 23.0版本。用卡方检验比较比例,用学生t检验比较

Introduction: Pregnancy is a physiological condition that can sometimes end in death. The death of a woman is a constant concern for the obstetrician and is considered a major public health problem in our developing countries. Objective: To identify the determinants that contribute to maternal morbidity and mortality in the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department of the University Community Hospital. Methodology: We conducted a retrospective study from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2019 (5 years) in the obstetrics and gynaecology department of the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Com-munautaire (CHUC). It focused on the determinants of maternal mortality. Our study population consisted of all women who died during the period and met the World Health Organization (WHO) definition of maternal mortality (MOMA). We used non-probability sampling with the exhaustive choice technique. Results: The study
