The necessity of conducting regional genetic monitoring (GM) is substantiated, an experience on its organization and the procedure of its carrying out with the help of computer technology is provided. The analysis of GM indicated that the incidence of developmental defects registered and listed is in the population limits. Proceeding from the example of anencephaly , the role of GM in the assessment of the effectiveness of comprehensive measures on prevention of birth of children with grave defects has been demonstrated.

The RIBS expert system was created by using the means and tools of the OBSES software complex (an expert system shell). RIBS is designed for determining the risk level in the occurrence of ischemic heart disease. The knowledge base is structured and is broken down into 13 hierarchical clusters. Three types of attributes are used for knowledge base cluster representation. To calculate the significance of facts and rules, the methods of polar and score ratings and others are used. A consultation fragment report with delivery of ischemic heart disease risk integral value is provided.

The paper describes the system of continuous post-graduate advanced training proceeding from the example of physicians who participated in the training course at the chair of child and teenage hygiene at the Central Institute for Advanced Medical Studies during correspondence and full-time training travelling cycles. The work was conducted with the group of physicians (153 persons), participants of the experimental group--15 physicians from the city of Yaroslavl and Yaroslavl region. The targeted training was carried out in the form of post-cycle training: subject studies, consultations and seminars conducted by the statt of the chair, performance of scientific and practical work, etc. during 2-5 years. As evidenced by the studies conducted the methods and methodology used for studying the efficiency of training can be recommended for other chairs and institutions engaged in advanced training of sanitary physicians.

The paper describes an experience gained in the work of the mixed team of district out-patient physicians and nurses for adult population. The necessity and importance of team contracts are substantiated as the first stage in the transition of health services to cost-accounting activities which are promoting a new economic thinking among medical workers. The conclusions made in the paper indicate that the team form of labour is a good way of solving numerous public health problems in the transition to the improved forms of performance.
