Here is shown that drawing blood for immunological tests represents an important stage that must be reached according to medical indications, in order to avoid errors, taking into account the large range of these tests. All along the report it is discussed the dividing of the immunological tests needed into usual ones, with a value of basis screening, and complementary tests, with a value of advanced screening and their detailing. With regards to the immunopathological substratum, it is always necessary that the immunological tests should be performed by medical staff specialized in this domain.

The cardiac stop as well as the severe despondency of the respiratory function in the recoverable patients is a major medical urgency which causes the immediate death of the patient if efficient measures of cardiorespiratory resuscitation are not correctly and rapidly taken. The authors describe in detail the measures to be taken in such situations, presenting the experience of the medical and nursing staff in the coronary intensive care unit of the Medical Clinic III, in the Clinical Hospital of Bucharest. It is underlined the fact that due to the nature of their tasks, the nursing staff have an essential contribution within the "team work" of the coronary intensive care units.

The author analyzes the 3 important factors of in-hospital infections--the source of infection, route of transmission and the receptive organism, with details regarding the measures of prevention and control. Emphasis is laid on the role of the hospital personal which have an effective contribution in the prevention of these diseases, namely: a) strict application of hygiene measures (hospitalization conditions, microclimate, food, water supply, removal of wastes and residues, sterilization, disinfection, cleaning, etc.); b) choice of procedures of investigations and therapy with minimum risk of infection, application of asepsis and antisepsis techniques, the judicious use of antibiotics; c) accurate, prompt evaluation of the infectious potential and receptivity of the patients; d) clinical surveillance of the patients and health of the personal; e) corresponding professional education of the entire personal of the hospital. Further indications are given regarding correct performance of disinfection and sterilization and the substances used.
