Leprosy is considerd to be a very severe degenerative and communicable disease since long. This disease is caused by bacillus Mycobacterium leprae or Mycobacterium leprometosis or Mycobacterium leprimurium, which is expressed as nodes on the body or degeneration of body parts especially of hand and legs. There is a detailed description of symptoms and treatment of leprosy in ancient Ayurvedic medical litrature. In morden medical system multi drug therapy treatment is used, combining Rifampcin, Ofloxcin and Minocycline antibiotics which are very effective. Inspite of that in Indian sub continent very effective results were not found due to lack of awareness and education, although improvement is visible now.

Development is indicator of splendid change. Today India has become sixth economic giant in the world. Although GDP of our country is increasing by adapting globalization patterns, still at 131st place with the result public in general is devoid of benefits of economic reforms. Owing to gender inequality in a male dominated mindset of Indian society our country is at 125th place eliciting direct effects on social, health and education status of female population.

Stevia has been used throughout the world since ancient times as a bio sweetener and as medicine in lower blood sugar. The leaves of Stevia plants have functional and sensory properties superior to those of many other high-potency sugars, Stevia is likely to become a major source of high-potency sweetener for the growing natural food market in the future. Although Stevia can be helpful to anyone, there are certain groups example- diabetic patients who are more likely to benefit from its remarkable sweetening potential. Its white crystalline compound (stevioside) is the natural herbal sweetener with no calories and is over 100-300 times sweeter than table sugar.

A bird’s humerus has been recovered from a microvertebrate subfossil accumulation bearing sand layer from a fluvial-lacustrine section exposed near the village Shachukul, Tangtse Valley, Ladakh. This is the first report of this kind of material from Trans-Himalaya. The specimen bone is identified as humerus bone of Coturnix coturnix(common quail), dated to 3400±40yr BP. The finding of such a high degree of preservation of bones with soft tissues indicates a sudden burial of the whole assemblage, including this bone might have caused by a flash-flood like event. This could be a roosting site for any carnivore mammal or a bird or a communal roosting site for any kind of a bird community. The ratio of skeletal and dental elements, preservation of scats/droppings with remains of bones and hair, the absence of long-distance fluvial transport features on the bones, supports an accumulation and burial of the scatological material at the site of origin.

Japanese encephalitis (JE) is neurological infection which is caused by Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV), a flavivirus, and is closely related to St. Louis encephalitis and West Nile encephalitis. It is predominant in rural areas of Asia, which spread through bites of culicine mosquitoes, most often Culex tritaeniorhynchus. JE has broad range of manifestations. It can range from subtle changes in behavior to serious problems, including blindness, ataxia, weakness, and movement disorders.Japanese encephalitis virus is endemic in 24 countries in Southeast Asia and Western Pacific regions with more than 3 billion people at risk of infection. JE is the main cause of viral encephalitis in people in many countries of Asia amounting almost 68,000 clinical cases per year. Children are at greatest risk, with adults in endemic areas having protective immunity as a consequence of childhood infection. This disease is of particular importance in Gorakhpur, eastern belt of UP, the state with the largest population in India, where a large number of children have been dying in the past several years with alarming frequency since 1978.

Boron is an essential micronutrient for normal growth and development of plants. Deficiency of B in plants produces several visual symptoms and affects the crop yield. Uptake of B by plants is closely related to the availability of B in soils which is ultimately controlled by many soil properties like soil texture, organic matter content, pH, presence of Fe and Al oxides etc. Boron deficiency in soils is very common in eastern and north-eastern parts of India. The management of B in soils is very important for correcting B deficiency in plants. All the soil and plant parameters must be considered for precise fertilizer recommendation of B, as the range of B deficiency and its toxicity is very narrow in soil and plants.

Climate change has emerged as a problem that has not only affected the economy of the world, but its impact should be seen on the present generation as well as on the coming generation of human beings. It is a universal problem that has its impact on all living beings in some form or another. Currently the whole world is concerned about the effects of climate change. Awareness is being credited not only by organizing seminars and programs around the world, but also on some important agreements are being signed to take effective steps in this regard. As we all know, agriculture is the prime place in areas affected due to climate change whose most vivid example can be seen as a serious economic loss to India's coffee and tea growers. To overcome this problem a number of plans, policies and conferences are being undertaken so that future generations could be awared and protected from the serious consequences of climate change.
