The influence of slope exposure and altitude on the height of trees in the stands of the Carpathian beech forest Dentario glandulosae-Fagetum in the lower montane zone in the Bieszczady National Park. The aim of the study was to investigate the influence of slope exposure and elevation above sea level on the average height of trees in the stands of the Carpathian beech forest Dentario Glandulosae-Fagetum in the lower montane zone of the Bieszczady National Park. The research material consisted of measurements made as part of a grid of permanent research plots of the Bieszczady National Park with a size of 4 ares, arranged in a grid of squares with a spacing of 500 x 500 m. Using a two-factor analysis of variance, the average height of beech trees in two height zones (600-800 and 800-1000 m above sea level) and at two slope exposures (north and south) were compared. The influence of the interaction between the two factors was also studied. The height of beech stands was mainly determined by the altitude and the interaction between the exposure of the slope and the altitude. It was not found that the exposure of the slope significantly differentiated the average heights of beech trees in the lower montane zone in the Bieszczady National Park.

Influence of the content of recycled artificial leather waste particles in particleboards on their selected properties. Artificial leather is a layered fabric-plastic composite that resembles natural leather in appearance. Due to its wide range of advantages, artificial leather is widely used as an upholstery material in the renovation and production of furniture or even car upholstery. The aim of the research was to manage upholstery leather waste by adding previously shredded particles of artificial leather of different contents (5, 10, 25 and 50% by weight) to particleboard. Tests of selected mechanical properties (bending strength and modulus of elasticity and resistance to screw withdrawal) and physical properties (density profile, thickness swelling after immersion in water) were completed. It can be concluded that, depending on the further use of the board, there is a possibility of using the recovered artificial leather particles as a reasonable addition to wood fibres in the production of particleboard.

Influence of UV radiation on the color of furfurylated wood protected with refining coatings. Furfurylation is a method of chemical modification of wood, with significant effects on its strength parameters, resistance to degradation and color. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the color changes of furfurylated wood under UV radiation in an accelerated aging test. The wood was refined with selected protection agents -polyurethane varnish, linseed oil and wax; in addition, the stabilizing agent Tinuvin 292 was used as an additive to the wax and polyurethane varnish. The most favorable results in terms of UV light protection of furfurylated wood were obtained with polyurethane varnish, while among the two natural coatings, linseed oil showed significantly more favorable properties than wax. The UV light stabilizing agent was much more effective in protecting the color of unmodified wood than furfurylated wood.

Analysis of the efficiency of wood pellet production in 2018-2022, on the example of a small capacity company located in southern Poland. This paper is devoted to analyzing the efficiency of wood pellet production in 2018-2022, on the example of a small production facility located in the southern part of Poland. The first part includes definitions of key terms, i.e. answers to the questions of what a pellet is, what it is used for and what is the main idea of biomass pelletization. In addition to clarifying the most relevant terms, the section also indicates the current importance of the form of fuel under discussion and predictions for its future. The next section presents a description of the pellet production line and production efficiency data. The conclusion, in turn, presents the results of the above analyses, and also indicates the most important problems in the biomass market, which - especially in the last two years - have significantly affected the production market and, consequently, the level of sales.
