24 Versuchspersonen wurde das schriftliche Wortprotokoll einer fingierten Entscheidungsdiskussion zwischen drei Sprechern vorgelegt, zur Halfte mit, zur Halfte ohne aggressive Bemerkungen eines Sprechers. Die Versuchspersonen hatten nach jedem Argument auf einer Skala ihre Handlungspraferenz anzugeben. Entgegen der Erwartung beeintrachtigt die Aggressivitat der Argumentationsweise nicht den Einflus des Sprechers (Einflus = Summe der Praferenzanderungen infolge aller Argumente eines Sprechers), es zeigte sich sogar eine gegenlaufige Tendenz zu einem verstarkten Einflus des aggressiven Sprechers auf Leser mit ahnlicher Einstellung. 24 Subjects, reading the written record of an alleged group discussion among 3 persons about a topic of common interest, rated their preferences for the alternative way of action supported by one of the persons, following each argument. One half of the records contained aggressive remarks of that person, the other half did not. Contrary to expectations verbal aggression did bot diminish the influence (influence = total number of changes in preference following all arguments posed by one participant in the discussion) of the aggressive Speaker. There was even a tendency towards greater influence on the part of the aggressive Speaker on those Subjects, who held a similar position to him, on account of his verbal aggression.
