With the advent of the development of biosensor devices, scientists are more focused on emerging new biosensor technologies and tools. The existing application of these devices in fields of biomedicine, drug discovery, food safety, and environmental monitoring get remarkable importance. Till today diagnostic tests especially for early detection and monitoring of cancer and anticancer chemotherapeutic agents bearing major challenges despite their simplicity. This review aims to highlight the use of biosensors as diagnostic means along with their future applicability. In the past various achievement in the development of biosensors opened a new gateway for researchers to further modify biosensing elements to enhance their detection ability particularly in cancer that requires continued development and validation of biomarkers and development of ligands for those biomarkers, as well as continued development of sample preparation methods and multi-channel biosensors able to analyze many cancer markers simultaneously. The future for biosensor is promising and bright however require a determined, cost-effective and multi-disciplinary approach to bring out biosensor system from research and development laboratory to market place.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of the lumbar spine with the standard protocol can be useful in the diagnosis of incidental extraspinal lesions. The study aims to find the frequency and types of incidental findings (IF)of lumbosacral spine MRI in adult patients with suspected discopathy. It was a prospective analytical study involving MRI scans performed on a group of 50 patients (22 males and 28 females) in the age range of 25-85 years old reporting clinically chronic back pain without a history of acute trauma. The data was collected in Yastabshiroon Medical Centre, Khartoum, Sudan between February 2018 and February 2019. The relationship between incidental findings (IF) and patients’ age and gender was assessed using a chi’ squared test. The age ranges of patients less than 35, 36-45 years, 46-55 years, 56-65 years, and more than 65 years comprised 10.0%,18.0%, 22.0%, 20.0%, and 30% accordingly. All patients had incidental findings, and hemangioma was the most frequent finding (18 patients, 36%) followed by an abscess (15 patients, 30%). There was no significant association between gender and type of diagnosed incidental finding (IF), most frequently IF Lumber reported finding in MRI hemangioma, abscess, and collapse.

Self Medication in Today's Generation without Knowledge as Self Inflicted Harm
IF 0.6 Pub Date : 2022-01-01 DOI: 10.51847/pxygs4x42h
J. Kavitha, S. Sivakrishnan, Nagarajan Srinivasan
The simplest definition of self-medication is the use of drugs (medications) without a doctor's prescription. These drugs are sold in pharmacies and other shops and are referred to as 'Over the counter' or 'Non-prescription.' This phenomenon is rapidly evolving. People take medicines without a doctor's permission for many different reasons. During clinical consultations, some people want to cut down on the time and money they spend. Other people don't bother to see a doctor at all and self-medicate. Other things to think about could be personal issues, such as the fear of losing a job because of a diagnosed condition, mental illness, pain relief, sadness, or ignorance. Self-medication may seem like a good idea at first, but it's important to think about the risks. Self-medication can lead to drug addiction, allergies, habituation, disease worsening, the wrong diagnosis and dose, incapacity, and even death, so it's important not to do it. This is why you should never try to take your own medicine. In this study, the "seriousness" of self-medication is talked about. This review will help everyone who wants to avoid taking their own medicine.
