Abstract:An unnamed speaker confronts the tyranny of their own obsessive, bullying brain -- a force which can neither be tricked or denied, no matter your wisdom/age.Abstract:An unnamed speaker muses over the seemingly endless journey of life, which retracts as it lengthens, returning us all in the end back to/from where we came.

Abstract:I'm working on a sequence of poems in which I address Audre Lorde in response to her book The Cancer Journals and also in response to my mother's Stage 4 de novo breast cancer diagnosis during the pandemic. I've always felt so self-conscious of my own body as a model for my children, and I've written about its failures in my book Nestuary. But it's also this fantastically wonderful, safe place for my children.

Abstract:This essay is a summer-long study of decomposition. It is made up of four sections (yard, mattress, compost, cat) that interweave observations of domestic space and capitalistic contracts as they relate to decay and waste.

Abstract:"Golden Hour" is a poem about transition—from daylight to darkness, childhood to maturity, outdoor space to the confines of the home. It suggests that, in becoming a parent, one not only crosses from the realm of freedom to responsibility, but also becomes an enforcer of that boundary.

Abstract:This poem began as an abecedarian, but quickly abandoned that form, while keeping some of the momentum. It's concerned with things that are lost: an object on a beach, a relationship. The speaker is conflicted with the two-fold desire to move forward and return.
