The UNESCO World Programme of Action on ESD suggests that universities bear a social responsibility by generating knowledge and innovations (BMBF 2022). Universities fulfill this task by supporting society in current issues, such as the sustainable structural change of their region, by offering so-called Third Mission activities (TMA). However, third mission is a term that at first meets with a lack of understanding, according to an unpublished survey from the Transfer Assessment Toolbox (TBT) project of the Transfer and Innovation Service Saxony-Anhalt (TransInno_LSA). Following on from this, the TBT project further explored whether a simplified designation of TMA as services could be considered.

Verifying the Elliptic Curve Verifiable Random Function Secp256r1 on Blockchain 在区块链上验证椭圆曲线可验证随机函数Secp256r1

Randomness is a critical issue in peer-to-peer networks because random numbers allow us to fairly select the candidates, resolve the lotteries, select block producers, etc. The difficulty is that each participant wants to verify that the random number was randomly generated, this led to the invention of verifiable random functions (VRF). The VRF is a pseudo-random function that provides a solution to blockchain-based random number generation.This paper focuses on the implementation of an elliptic curve-based VRF introduced by NIST called ECVRF-secp256r1 in Solidity. The algorithm verifies the randomness on-chain, tests the gas consumption at each stage, and compares it to the ECVRF-secp256k1.

Analysis of the Compression Behavior of Different Cardboard Materials During Embossing 不同纸板材料压花压缩性能分析

Embossing is an important design and functionality element. For instance, embossing is used to apply braille letters on medical products, or to enhance folding packages or brochures due to haptic effects. Usually, a multilayered cardboard material is used for such types of products. Up to now, high-quality and functional embossing has so far been associated with an extraordinarily large amount of experience-based know-how and with many cost-intense trial-and-error experiments due to the mechanical complexity of cardboard material. In the presented work it is shown how experimental investigations and numerical simulations based on Finite-Element-Analysis can contribute to a virtual prediction of the embossing process and, therefore, can help to reduce time-consuming and expensive experiments.

The following research synthesizes biopolymers with digital fabrication tools, such as robotic 3D printing, to complement existing research on reducing the amount of concrete used in buildings. It investigates bio-based and biodegradable polymers for concrete formworks. The climate crisis challenges architects and designers to explore alternative opportunities for sustainable fabrication processes. Biopolymers have emerged as a potential material to replace petroleum-based plastics used in the built environment. This research aims to rethink the materials used in the construction of buildings and suggests introducing bio-based and biodegradable materials in architecture.

The main focus of this work is to establish a protein synthesis pathway for T7 RNA polymerase (T7-RNAP) and Pumilio and fem3 mRNA binding factors 6 (Puf6) using the minimum necessary methods.The proteins can be cost-effectively expressed pure and highly active in prokaryotes and then effectively purified with a hexahistidine tag via nickel-NTA affinity chromatography. The proteins find application in the synthesis and folding of, for example, ribosomal RNA (rRNA). Evaluating the Influence of Agro-Environmental Measures on Honey Bees Based on Genetic Pollen Analysis With Nanopore Sequencing 基于遗传花粉纳米孔测序评价农业环境措施对蜜蜂的影响

Intensive land use is one of the main drivers contributing to the loss of pollinating insects due to the distribution of pesticides and the reduction of flower diversity. This work analyzes honey bee pollen samples taken from areas of different agricultural intensity. The aim is to classify the plant species contained in the pollen samples using DNA barcodes and nanopore sequencing in order to evaluate the influence of different agro-environmental measures on the foraging behavior of honey bees. First results concern the DNA extraction and the identification of universal primer sequences in preparation for sequencing with the MinION Mk1c from Oxford Nanopore Technologies.

At Laserinstitut Hochschule Mittweida (LHM), single molecule fluorescence microscopy is to be established for biophotonic RNA research. The aim of this work is to establish an objective-based total internal reflection fluorescence microscope (TIRFM) with alternating laser excitation (ALEX) in the millisecond range. We have designed a suitable detection beam path for color channel-selected imaging with a scientific CMOS camera. The two detection channels allow distance changes to be measured at the molecular level using Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET). In addition to the microscope setup, this work details the imaging and color channel selection of the fluorescently labeled samples and the modulated laser excitation.

Development and Evaluation of an Anonymity-Focused Feedback Tool Based on Ring Signatures 基于环签名的匿名反馈工具的开发与评估

A feedback system should be developed for the Blockchain Academy Mittweida, which can store the feedback for the courses offered anonymously and without duplication. It should be possible, without removing the anonymity of the users, to determine whether feedback has already been submitted by a user. For this purpose, the technology of linkable ring signatures was used. This technology allows users to be grouped into a ring and submit feedback anonymously. To determine the interest in and understanding of the solution and technology, a video was created introducing the process and presenting it to a group of subjects. The evaluation showed that there was interest in the presented solution and that the concept could be communicated.

Urban production in the sense of producing and processing material goods in densely populated areas (Brandt et al. 2017) has been gaining in importance again in recent years. Reasons for this include more resource-efficient and lower-emission manufacturing processes, shorter transport and work routes, or proximity to research and educational institutions. While many studies on urban production refer to agglomeration areas, there is a lack of knowledge on less densely populated regions and also on small and medium-sized cities. This article will take a look at this focus and present the initial findings of a research project that identifies framework conditions and networks together with companies in small and medium-sized towns in Saxony.

Reasons for this include more resource-efficient and lower-emission manufacturing processes, shorter transport and work routes, or proximity to research and educational institutions. While many studies on urban production refer to agglomeration areas, there is a lack of knowledge on less densely populated regions and also on small and medium-sized cities. Development and Evaluation of an FEM Model for the Simulation of Microstructured Milling Tools for the Machining of Highly Adhesive Aluminum Alloys 高粘接铝合金微结构铣刀仿真有限元模型的建立与评价

As part of a research project, an end mill for dry machining of adhesive aluminum alloys was developed and tested. To adapt the tribological conditions in the contact area between chip and tool, the chip surfaces are provided with microstructures parallel to the peripheral cutting edge. In addition, a new type of coating composite consisting of a hard and a soft material is applied to the carbide substrate. By eliminating the need for cooling lubricant, the new development results in reduced environmental and health impacts as well as financial advantages. This article deals with the development and evaluation of an FEM model for the dimensioning of the microstructures and provides insights into first experimental results.
