This study aimed to develop and apply an mobile app-based knee osteoarthritis prevention program based on the IMB (InformationMotivation-Behavioral Skills) model to prevent knee osteoarthritis in obese middle-aged women. This is a quasi-experimental study of unequal control group repeated measures design to verify the effect on knee osteoarthritis prevention knowledge, health attitude, social support, self-efficacy, knee osteoarthritis prevention behavior, body mass index, lower extremity muscle strength, and health-related quality of life in obese middle-aged women. The subjects of this study were a total of 67 obese middle-aged women aged 45 to 60 (experimental group: 32, control group: 35). Data were analyzed using a SPSS 22.0 program with frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, χ2 -test, Fisher's Exact test, Independent t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, Two-way Repeated measure ANOVA, Friedman test, and Wilcoxon signed-rank test. As a result of the study, obese middle-aged women in the experimental group had higher knee arthritis prevention knowledge (p <.001), health attitude (p =.008), and social support (p =.007) compared to the control group), self-efficacy (p <.001), knee osteoarthritis prevention behavior (p =.002), body mass index (p <.001) and lower extremity muscle strength (p =.001) were significantly improved. Through this, this study proved that the app-based knee osteoarthritis prevention program developed based on the IMB model is an effective and appropriate program for preventing knee osteoarthritis in obese middle-aged women who develop degeneratively with aging. In particular, its utilization and practical value of this app-based program is high in everyday life.

The purpose of this research is to This study examines the relationship between factors affecting the Post-Traumatic Growth of the abused elderly through a structural equation model. The purpose of this study was to examine how the self-exposure, Deliberate rumination and social support of abused elderly affects the post-traumatic growth directly or indirectly based on the post-traumatic growth theory of Tedeschi and Calhoun(2004). This study was conducted nation-widely surveying 303 victims aged 65 years or older through National Protection Agencies for Elderly established in 17 metropolitan and provincial cities. As a data analysis method, descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation model were used. For this purpose, SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 statistical programs were used. The results of this study are as follows. Five of the six hypotheses about the direct effect were accepted, one hypothesis was rejected, and all three of the three hypotheses about the indirect effect were supported. Looking at the adopted direct effect, it was found that post-traumatic growth was high when the social support and Deliberate rumination of the abused elderly were high. And when self-exposure and social support were high, Deliberate rumination was high. In addition, high self-exposure showed high social support. On the other hand, self-exposure did not have a significant direct effect on post-traumatic growth. Looking at the indirect effect, Deliberate rumination was found to mediate the effects between self-exposure and social support and post-traumatic growth. In addition, it was found that social support and Deliberate rumination mediate self-exposure and post-traumatic growth. Based on the results of this study, the need f or improvement of programs and practices, laws and systems that can improve Deliberate rumination, social support, and self-exposure to promote post-traumatic growth of the abused elderly was suggested.

Focusing on the elderly living in Seoul, this study aims to analyze empirically the effects of the local medical resources on the needs for community medical environment based on the number of medical institutions, total number of doctors, total number of beds in the district as a representative of local medical resources. Multi-level logistic regression model was used. 2018 Seoul Elderly Survey was used for the data of the level one and Seoul Statistics 2018 were used for the data of the level 2. As a result, as the total number of doctors and beds increase, the elderly's needs for community medical environment significantly decreased. It exhibits that the total number of doctors and beds are critical rather than the total number of medical institutions in the district. Based on the above results, it is hospitals that affect the needs for community medical environment of the elderly. The results of this study suggest in order to provide the pro-aging social ecological system it is necessary to examine the elderly's needs for community medical environment for the higher medical institutions in preparation for the super aging society

The importance of productive activities and roles in society of older adults has been recognized in the contemporary aging societies. Although existing studies have revealed that individual human capital is an important factor in the productive participation of the elderly, the influence of the family has not been systematically considered. Using data from the 2th to 6th wave of Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing(KLoSA), this study examined the effect of the individual and family characteristics on economic activities among older adults. The results are as follows. First, as a result of analyzing all the elderly, only individual human capital characteristics had a significant effect on participation in economic activities. Second, as a result of analyzing male and female older adults separately, it was confirmed that individual characteristics and family characteristics had a significant effect on participation in economic activities. In particular, children's participation in the labor market related to the life changes of family members was an important factor influencing the economic activities of the elderly. Third, when transitioning from a state with some or all children not participating in the labor market to a state with all children participating in the labor market, it was found that male seniors are less likely to participate in economic activities while female seniors are more likely to participate in economic activities. Based on these research results, academic and policy implications were discussed.

This study aims to focus on social capital as a primary preventive intervention in the community for healthy old age, and to understand the influence and path of social capital in old age on physical health. This study used data from the Korean Frailty and Aging Cohort Study(KFACS) surveyed from 2018 to 2019, and analyzed the elderly aged 65 years or older who responded to all variables. And the mediating effect of depression in the effect of social capital on frailty was analyzed using SPSS MACRO PRCESS v3.5. As a result of the analysis, social capital had a significant effect on frailty in the first stage, and social capital in the second stage had a significant effect on depression. In the last three stages, depression showed a full mediating effect on the effect of social capital on frailty, and showed a significant result as a mediating variable. Based on the results of this study, the meaning of social capital as a primary community intervention for healthy old age and successful aging was examined, and based on this, discussions and suggestions related to the creation of an environment to increase social capital in the community were presented.

Based on the results of this study, the meaning of social capital as a primary community intervention for healthy old age and successful aging was examined, and based on this, discussions and suggestions related to the creation of an environment to increase social capital in the community were presented.","PeriodicalId":90513,"journal":{"name":"Han'guk nonyonhak = Journal of Korea Gerontological Society","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46255730","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the intergenerational solidarity as the theoretical background, this study attempted to investigate the effect of trust on responsibility for older and future generations and to confirm whether perception of age-integration plays a mediating role in these relationships. Data from an online survey of 1,000 adult men and women aged 20 to 79 nationwide were used, and the data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. As a result of the analyses, it was found that trust had a significant effect on both responsibility for the older generations and responsibility for future generations. In addition, perception of age-integration had a partial mediating role in these relationships. Practical and policy recommendations were proposed for the sustainable era of low fertility and population aging.
