The effects of transient Tai Chi Yuttari-exercises on the oxidant stress and antioxidant capacity in the elderly 短暂太极拳对老年人氧化应激和抗氧化能力的影响

【Purpose】The Tai Chi Yuttari exercise program consists of calisthenics that incorporate elements of Tai Chi and was developed to allow frail elderly individuals to perform the exercise program continuously and safely. Continuous practice of Tai Chi Yuttari exercise has been shown to improve the vascular function;however, the mechanism underlying these improvements is not clear. We evaluated the oxidant stress and antioxidant capacity of elderly people before and after Tai Chi Yuttari exercise to obtain basic data on the effects of transient exercise on the oxidant stress and antioxidant capacity.
【目的】太极拳Yuttari是一种结合太极拳元素的健美操,旨在让体弱多病的老年人能够持续安全地进行这项运动。持续练习太极Yuttari已被证明可以改善血管功能,然而,这些改善的机制尚不清楚。通过对老年人太极拳运动前后的氧化应激和抗氧化能力进行评价,获得短暂性运动对氧化应激和抗氧化能力影响的基本数据。

Four patients with bilateral multidirectional instability of glenohumeral joint(eight shoulders)(DI)and four healthy adults (eight shoulders)(DS)participated in this study. All subjects were instructed to rotate their shoulders at the arm by side of the body with 15 cycles in one minute while scanning by a 0.4 T open MRI device(Aoerti Eterna, Hitachi Medical Corporation, Japan)and recording by a video camera, simultaneously.
