Whispering: Joint Service Offloading and Computation Reuse in Cloud-Edge Networks. 窃窃私语:云边缘网络中的联合服务卸载和计算重用。

Due to the proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) and application/user demands that challenge communication and computation, edge computing has emerged as the paradigm to bring computing resources closer to users. In this paper, we present Whispering, an analytical model for the migration of services (service offloading) from the cloud to the edge, in order to minimize the completion time of computational tasks offloaded by user devices and improve the utilization of resources. We also empirically investigate the impact of reusing the results of previously executed tasks for the execution of newly received tasks (computation reuse) and propose an adaptive task offloading scheme between edge and cloud. Our evaluation results show that Whispering achieves up to 35% and 97% (when coupled with computation reuse) lower task completion times than cases where tasks are executed exclusively at the edge or the cloud.

A Comparative Study of Alamouti and Golden Space-Time Block Codes Alamouti空时分组码与Golden空时分组码的比较研究

In this conference paper, we study the BER and FER performance of the best-known space-time block codes: the Alamouti scheme and the Golden code. By way of computer simulations using a channel simulator based on the geometrical one-ring scattering model, we show that, for equal quantity of information transmitted per channel use, the performance of the Alamouti code is clearly superior to that of the Golden code for a distance between collocated antennas that is equal to and smaller than the wavelength of the carrier. The performances become comparable for an antenna separation equal to and larger than the double of the carrier wavelength. This important result was not known from the open literature.

A geocast architecture for mobile cellular networks 移动蜂窝网络的地理广播架构

In this paper, we address the geocasting problem for cellular mobile networks. The crucial components to support geocasting services are, the geolocation mechanism, dispersion of the geolocation information, and geocast message routing and delivery. We present a cellular architecture to support geocasting with minimal overhead signaling, subject to the quality of service requirements of the particular geocast applications.
