The experimental-industrial study results of the process of sorption of rare-earth elements on sulfonic cation-exchange resin KU-2-8 from nitrate solutions of loparite concentrate development are presented. Values of different obtained elements are discussed. Different changes in processes are described. Reprocessing loparine raw materials in the close cycle without hydrochloric and sulfuric acid, and excess of normative sodium content in productional concentrate is possible. Keywords: ionite, sorption, loparite concentrate, rare-earth element, thorium.

The results of experiments for the study of behavior of lead and selenium during the leaching process of slurry by a solution of trylon B depending on parameters typical for hydrometallurgical processes and their ranges are presented. It has been found out that trylon B practically completely extracts lead into the solution, selenium is concentrated in cake. However, the process is accompanied by precipitation of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (C10H16N2O8). Selenium-containing substances were determined in slurry and cakes.

The process of producing tungsten powders with a highly developed surface by reducing its oxide compounds with magnesium vapor in the temperature range 600—750 °C under dynamic vacuum (0.01 kPa) and with a residual argon pressure in the reactor 0.5—10 kPa has been studied. During the reduction of magnesium and calcium tungstates, tungsten powders were obtained with a specific surface area of 40 m2·g–1, characterized by a mesoporous structure.

The possibility of producing high-quality high-capacity tantalum powder from certain types of tantalum wastes by their oxidation and subsequent magnesium thermal reduction is discussed. Capacitor powders with a specific charge of 100000—150000 µC·g–1 and leakage current less than 0.001 μA·μC–1 were obtained.

A new approach to Ni removal from simulators of dump waste product of the industrial waste purification of the wet gas-cleaning plant and the copper electrolysis workshop at the Copper Plant (Polar branch PJSC MMC «Norilsk Nickel») is proposed. The method is based on gas-phase treatment of waste product with NOХ, HNO3, or NH3 vapors, followed by dissolution of Ni salt in water. It has been found out that using nitrating media, containing HNO3 (vapor), NOX and H2O (vapor), allowed us to perform the effective leaching of nickel from the pulp simulator volume. A possible disadvantage of the method is a simultaneous leaching of considerable amounts of calcium and sulfur.

A separation method of ions of cobalt (II) and iron (III) has been proposed and studied for the case of their simultaneous presence in a solution. This method includes preliminary separation of an iron portion by alkaline precipitation with pH = 2.3, obtaining the product of simultaneous precipitation of iron and cobalt and extraction of cobalt from it by the method of cation-exchange leaching with the use of nonselective sulfonic cation resin KU-2-8.

Ceramic pigments based on spinel CoAl2O4 have been synthesized with use the anion resin exchange precipitation method, where the strong base anion exchange resin AV-17-8 in the OH-form are used as a precipitate agent. The effect of the amount of cobalt in the pigment on its structure, color and optical properties ise shown.
