Mothers in the perinatal stage and infants should be identified and evaluated for the risk of dental caries. Early childhood caries can lead to detrimental consequences in the primary dentition. This entails that oral health care advice regarding oral hygiene, diet, fluoride and dental management be provided to minimize the risk factors and optimize the protective factors to improve the longterm oral health outcomes for both the mother and her infant.

The medical terms such as magical and lightening quick are used to represent lasers [1]. Theodore H. Maiman in 1960 coined the term laser, which was initially termed as maser which stands for “microwave amplification by stimulated emission of radiation”. However, the term LASER is an acronym for light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation [2,3]. Three types of lasers used for surgical therapy in the oral cavity are neodymium lasers YAG (Nd: YAG), of argon (Ar) and carbon dioxide (CO2) [3]. Lasers have largely replaced scalpels and other instruments in the field of medicine because of its advantages [4-6]. Different laser wavelengths have different absorption coefficients wherein laser energy can be absorbed or transmitted based on the structure of the target tissue. The presence of water, which is an essential component of all biologic tissues, is important for the use of lasers [2,6]. For hard tissues, Er lasers are used whereas any laser can be used for soft tissue components [2,6,7].

Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection that causes squamous papilloma is common in the oral cavity of adults but not in children. Although benign, the slow progressive growth is a concern to clinicians and parents as the lesion may clinically appear as an exophytic verrucous carcinoma or squamous carcinoma. This case report describes a squamous papilloma arising on the tongue of a 12-year old child.

Internal root resorption (IRR) is a particular category of pulp disease characterized by the loss of dentine as a result of the action of clastic cells stimulated by pulpal inflammation. The objective of this case report was to account for the diagnosis and management of an internal root resorption without perforation. The patient, a 26-year-old male, came to Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Sciences and Research, West Bengal, without having symptoms in the tooth. Endodontic treatment was performed using the following methods: irrigation of the root canal with 2.5% of sodium hypochlorite, then calcium hydroxide (CH) was applied as intracanal medicament for one month. Complete instrumentation was done with Hyflex One File (Coltene) and obturation with corresponding guta-percha and Roeko Gutta flow Bio seal sealer (Coltene). Strictly as per the compliance and regulations of: The patient was checked after one week and then after six months. He did not have any symptoms and IOPA radiograph did not show any further progression of the lesion.

Management of Mesiodens In Mixed Dentition- Molariform and Tuberculate: A Case Report

Timely intervention is the key to any setback in the mixed dentition. Teeth which are supplemental to the normal dentition are supernumeraries, the most common being mesiodens, present in the premaxillary region. Certain pathological consequences may arise due to mesiodens like unaesthetic midline diastema, rotation, displacement, root resorption and cyst formation. The current case report presents the management of developing malocclusion in the anterior region due to the presence of mesiodentesa molariform and a tuberculate. The molariform mesiodens was impeding the eruption of the maxillary right central incisor, thus the surgical removal of both mesiodentes was planned and executed. In addition to this soft tissue uncovering was done for the unerupted maxillary central incisor. On follow up, uneventful healing was observed successfully.

Background: In recent dentistry scientific research, it has been observed that worker ́s mental health has been an object of investigation. Due to several implication both in functional performance and quality of life affiliates by some people with this disorder. This paper reports the prevalence and risk associated with burnout syndrome (BS) in children and adolescent’s health care professionals. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study with descriptive and analytical statistics (based on margin of error 5.0%). The study area includes the city of Campina Grande, Paraiba State, Northeastern Brazilian. The instruments for data collection were interview with structured questionnaires The Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS) and a demographic questionnaire were used (n=87). For data analysis we used Student’s t-test and ANOVA. Results: The final sample was composed of 63 professionals (72.4 % of the universe). According to the data, 90.5 % of participants were female, mean age 41 years ± 12.33. The prevalence of scores related to BS occurred in 49.2% of investigated; 46.0% in the initial phase for this disease and 3.2% with Burnout installed. These patients presented predominantly low level of emotional exhaustion (57.1%) and moderate levels of depersonalization. All had a high professional achievement. Variables, marital status and family incomes were positively associated with depersonalization. Conclusion: Approximately half of professionals of health care for children and adolescents reported symptoms related to BS scores, making necessary a more focused approach to the diagnosis and intervention methods to be adopted for the target population discriminated.
