Birth preparedness enables families to prepare for pregnancy thus increasing the uptake of antenatal care, skilled birthing, and postnatal care, enhancing readiness to handle pregnancy complications and first delays experienced in seeking obstetric care. Male partners influence maternal health outcomes due to their financial power and cultural endowment. Health facility community dialogue through maternity open days provides a platform for pregnant mothers, and their families/ community to interact with health care providers, visit maternity units, demystify birthing practices, and mitigate any fears/misconceptions/ myths about the birthing process thus empowering them on their reproductive health rights. Kenya has limited data on male involvement in birth preparedness through health facility community dialogue/maternity open days. The study objectives were to explore health system factors and nomadic cultural community factors that influence male involvement in birth preparedness through health facility community dialogue. Data was collected through structured guided interviews for focused group discussions on eighteen participants and two community health volunteers as key information informants. Health system factors that influence birth preparedness were; infrastructure: space, confidentiality, privacy, adequacy of beds/beddings, cleanliness, hot beverage/showers after birth, waiting time, and health care provider attitude. Nomadic cultural community factors were value-belief. The study showed the above factors hindered male involvement in birth preparedness. The county government of Kajiado to come up with health facility community dialogue forums on birth preparedness through open maternity days by having an annual budget.

Studies have shown that EG students have decreased anthropometric parameters when calibrating the subscapular and abdominal skin folds, decreased body weight, and shoulder circumference at rest. There is a significant increase (33.9%) in the parameters of flexibility when tilting the torso forward which is explained by the fact that in the complexes of exercises of the program was used a significant number of exercises that are associated with mobility not only in large but also, especially in small joints. The application of techniques for the development of dynamic force in various areas of strength aerobics has also increased the force in bending and unbending the arms in the supine position, as well as lifting in the saddle for 1 minute. Indicators of a long jump from a place and shuttle running in both groups do not differ essentially because, in the program of employment, there were no exercises of speed and power orientation. However, the measurement of aerobic cyclic movements (running 100 m) showed that in EG the indicator increased by 7.48%, and in CG - only by 2.49%. Indicators of aerobic capacity (running 2000 m) increased by 12.59%, while in EG, and in CG, this figure has not changed significantly - only 3.7%. Research has confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed rhythmic gymnastics and aerobics program, aimed at imp

Age-related changes in the deformability of erythrocyte membranes against the background of heart and respiratory failure exacerbate disorders of the blood supply to tissues and organs at the microcirculatory level, which is an important factor in worsening the prognosis of the disease, especially in people over 60 years of age. The purpose of the work is to investigate the patterns of changes in the deformability of erythrocyte membranes against the background of heart and respiratory failure in older people. In older patients against the background of COPD and CHF, a decrease in the deformability of erythrocyte membranes and associated microcirculation disorders against the background of hypoxia are detected. Age-related physiological changes in the morpho-functional state of erythrocyte membranes and changes in the deformability of their membranes against the background of somatic pathology (heart, respiratory failure, fever) lead to a syndrome of mutual weighting, exacerbate disorders of the blood supply to tissues and organs at the microcirculatory level, which is an important factor in worsening the prognosis diseases, especially in people over 65 years of age.

Background: Fatigue is one of the common complications of hemodialysis. The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of Tai-chi (TC) and stretching exercises (SE)on fatigue in patients receiving hemodialysis. Methods: A double-blind randomized clinical trial was undertaken with42 eligible patients receiving unit hemodialysis in Iran. Patients were randomly assigned to the first intervention (I1) (n=14), second intervention (I2) (n=14) and control (C) (n=14) group. The standard Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory (MFI) was completed at baseline and after 6 weeks else. In the I1group, SE was performed for 6 weeks and included 18 sessions for 40 to 60 minutes. In the I2group, TC was offered over 6 weeks and 18 sessions (40 to 60 minutes) were performed. During this period, the control group did not receive any training. Finally, the data were analyzed with SPSS Ver. 16 using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: At baseline, there was no significant difference in fatigue score between the three groups (P>0.05). Post-intervention the fatigue score in the intervention groups was significantly lower than the control group. (P<0.05). Although the fatigue score decreased in both intervention groups, this decrease was more significant in I1 than I2 (p=0.01). Conclusions: SE and TC reduced fatigue in patients receiving hemodialysis in this study. Therefore, considering the simplicity, safety, and cost-effectiveness of these methods, it is suggested they are implemented for use in hemodialysis units. Trial registration: The present study was registered on 06/04/2019 in the Iranian registry of clinical trials (IRCT20161223031522N10).

The English National Health Service (NHS) is one of the largest employers in the world with a global reputation of being at the forefront of medical research and high standards of treatment. Despite this, it is currently in a state of crisis with nurses going on strike for the first time in its history, paramedics also striking, and junior doctors experiencing burnout like never before. Working as a tutor, lecturer, and mentor on healthcare leadership programs in the UK, the author is hearing first-hand how exhausted so many of the English NHS workforce are and they have had enough of not being heard by the leaders of the organization. This critical review explores some of the serious considerations as to why this world-renowned health service is shattered – both in the metaphorical sense, but also physically.

The aim of this paper is to present the results of research analysing the incorporation of virtual or augmented reality into a programme based on physical and cognitive stimulation in older adults and to evaluate its effects following its application. The specific objectives were to verify whether the intervention had a positive effect on the cognitive deterioration of older adults as far as their mobility and fall risk were concerned and whether it was possible to observe any significant differences. A total of 18 people over the age of 65, all of whom were users of a day centre for the elderly, participated in this research. In terms of methodology, the study employed a quasi-experimental approach with two groups and both a pretest and a posttest to analyse the data quantitatively and descriptively. Three scales adapted to a Spanish population were used to measure cognitive deterioration, mobility and fall risk and to evaluate mental disorders in old age. As far as the results are concerned, although no statistically significant data have been found, it has been possible to appreciate slight improvements which suggest that virtual or augmented reality is a tool which can be used to complement physical and cognitive intervention programmes and activities in day centres for the elderly, incorporating aspects of an interactive nature which allow people to exercise and recover basic abilities in their everyday life, particularly in the area of cognition.

The system of co-management and co-administration of public services known as governance has been extensively addressed in terms of its dimensions, but an analysis of the process has not been established so far. The objective of this work has been to confirm the factorial structure reported in the literature. Two studies were carried out, one exploratory and the other confirmatory to the factorial structure of the Expected Governance Scale of Carreón (2021), establishing three factors: expected resolution, perceptions of agreements and expectations of responsibilities, although the research design limited the findings to the sample of analysis, suggesting the extension of the model to other moderating factors such as leadership.
