SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF A BIMETALLIC OXALATE BASED MAGNET: [(C4H9)4P][M(II)Cr(ox)3] M(II) =Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu [(C4H9)4P][M(II)Cr(ox)3] M(II) =Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu双金属草酸盐基磁体的合成与表征

The mixed-metal [(C4H9)4P][M(II)Cr(ox)3] M(II) = Mn(1), Fe(2), Co(3), Ni(4), Cu(5) and ox is oxalate, has been prepared. X-ray powder diffraction patterns and their Rietveld refinement show that all the compounds along the series are isostructural and siglephased. X-ray powder diffraction profiles are indexed in hexagonal and P63 space group. The magnetic susceptibility data obey Curie-Weiss law in temperature 300-5 K with a positive constans of 15,1 (1), 13.5 (2), 12.7 (3), 12.0 (4) and 11.0 K (5). The temperature dependence of the molar magnetizatior exhibits a magnetic phase transition at Tc = 12 K (1), 11 (2), 10 (3), 8(4), 7 K (5). At low temperature, the compounds complex exhibit long-range ordered magnetic behavior.

Synthesis and characterization of two series of non-symmetric liquid crystal dimer containing bisazobenzene moiety 含双偶氮苯片段的两系非对称液晶二聚体的合成与表征

Two series of calamitic non-symmetric liquid crystalline dimer compound containing bisazobenzene moiety and a rather short alkoxybiphenyl linked by flexible spacers 4-propyloxy-[4-biphenyloxyalkyl]-4`-(4-phenylazo)azobenzene has been synthesized and characterized by spectroscopic methods. The transition temperatures and phase behaviours were studied by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Polarizing Optical Microscopy (POM) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) study. The synthesized compounds exhibited enantiotropic liquid crystal phase with dimer (D1) containing pentyl flexible alkyl spacer showing smectic A and smectic C phases and dimer (D2) with hexyl spacer exhibitig SmA and nemetic phases respectively and the stability of the smectic layer depends on the spacer length for the compounds studied.
