Discovering New Tourist Attractions Through Social Media Data: A Case Study in Sabah Malaysia 通过社交媒体数据发现新的旅游景点:以马来西亚沙巴为例

Tourism sector plays an important role in ensuring that tourist attractions are well maintained and taken care of. Facilities such as trash bins, toilets and accessibility to the attraction area are also of importance so that tourists or locals are comfortable and at the same time ensure that the area are properly taken care of with the provided facilities. Nowadays you will rarely see a person without their smart phones and electronic gadgets brought together everywhere they go. They also like to share with friends and family members on what they are currently up to by text or photos shared through social media. Social Media such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram have been used widely throughout the world. In this research, tweets data from Twitter collected in Sabah, Malaysia have been used to analyze and see its pattern in discovering new tourist attractions. These geographically enabled tweets were retrieved and analyzed to see the current attracted area and to determine potentially new attraction spots. Results in this case study demonstrated encouraging results in revealing new potential tourism spots by examining its intensity and outliers done in spatial analysis using geographic information system from the collected Twitter data. Tourism sector or city council can further develop the targeted area and better facilitated it.

Assessment of Generated DTM Model Using UAV Sensors Toward Earthwork Calculation 利用无人机传感器生成的DTM模型对土方计算的评价

The used of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) seems to be the most appropriate tools to be used nowadays to fly over the dangerous area for monitoring or examining activities like volcanic, toxic spills, flooded area and so on which has less accessibility to the people. The potential of UAV in potraying small area with high resolution image can be achieved if it is fly nearby the object in low altitude and exposure. To relate it to this study, image data acquired by UAV was used to modelling ground profile in subsequent to estimate the volume of soil for earthwork calculation. The aim of this study is to apply UAV image data acquisition to generate Digital Terrain Model (DTM) for volume determination at quarry area. Thus, the objectives of this study were to explore UAV usage and its application, to perform image mosaicking and modelling of UAV imageries for DTM generation as well as to analyse generated DTM for volume calculation. Methodology of the studies highlighted the data acquisition and processing of UAV images with Ground Control Point (GCP) and without GCP using Agisoft Photoscan software The 3-D model of the quarry area was generated with assisted software as well as to perform volume calculation. The accuracy assessment in this study is based on the comparison between UAV DTM with GCP and without GCP. Result of this studies shows the comparison analysis being made between volume determination with and without GCPs based on their contour interval. In conclusion, this study has demonstrated the suitability of UAV DTM for volume determination at quarry area has successfully carried out.

Creating Database for Traditional Dance Categorization using CSV File Format 使用CSV文件格式创建传统舞蹈分类数据库

Categorizing dance requires an enormous amount of data storage which usually uses video as storage file. Joint position values from body movement mainly become base in categorizing dance. Author proposes an offline database system for traditional dance categorization system which utilizes CSV file format storing those numerical values. The method provides an easily accessible and sufficient database system that serves as training dataset and avatar reconstruction data. Meanwhile, the dance categorization system utilizes hidden Markov model. Recorded file consumes 40% less storage space compared to Brekel Pro Body v2 CSV outputs and differentiates two sequence correctly.

Estimation of Communication Link on Ground Sensor Terminal (GST) System for Nanosatellite (UiTMSAT-1) Store-and-Forward Mission 纳米卫星(UiTMSAT-1)存储转发任务地面传感器终端(GST)系统通信链路估计

This paper presents the estimated communication link budget for the developed Ground Sensor Terminal (GST) to support the BIRDS-2 cubesat’s Store-and-Forward (S&F) demonstration. The communication link is between a ground terminal and nanosatellites that are situated at LEO orbit. The proposed link budget calculates the attenuation parameters such as FSPL, satellite slant distance, antenna mismatch and others to ensure the communication link can be established properly. As to conclude the estimation on communication link, the Uplink margin and Downlink margin per two elevation angle values are presented.

Design of Obstacle Avoidance System on Hexacopter Using Vector Field Histogram-Plus 基于矢量场直方图的六旋翼飞行器避障系统设计

Contaminated areas of hazardous chemicals, radioactive and nuclear (CRN) can be known through the survey process with the help of operators so that technology solutions are offered to replace the operator’s task, namely the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. One type of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle is Hexacopter which is designed with an autonomous control system. Hexacopter requires the ability to obstacle avoidance in conducting survey missions in contaminated areas. The algorithm is used to obstacle avoidance is the vector field histogram-plus (VFH+). The VFH+ algorithm processes data input from distance measurement to the steering angle. The steering angles resulting from the calculation of the VFH+ algorithm is used to obstacle avoidance. Measurement of distance between object and Hexacopter using lidar sensor. In this research, the design of the obstacle avoidance system is tested in the gazebo environment running on the ROS system. The VFH+ algorithm test is done by placing obstacles on the path to be passed by the Hexacopter, so VFH+ will produce a steering angle to obstacle avoidance in accordance with the specification of the safe distance that can be passed and headed to the desired position.

Studies on Robustness of Trajectory Adaptive ZPETC with Application to Electro-Hydraulic Actuator 轨迹自适应ZPETC在电液执行器中的鲁棒性研究

Mostly modern mechanical systems have becoming an expanding field in industrial applications which require the support of precision motion control strategies. This paper is on the studies of robustness of trajectory adaptive ZPETC to discrete-time plant model that having a non-minimum phase zero very near to unity circle. This model was obtained from open-loop experiment of Electro-Hydraulic actuator using 50 ms sampling-time. This would contribute significant challenges in designing suitable feedforward controller since this model is very difficult to control. This is due to the non-minimum phase zero of this kind is producing slow decaying transient response. The ZPETC controller that does not require the factorization of zeros polynomial was used in the studies. Simulation results of the studies had shown better tracking and controls as compare to the conventional ZPETC. The simulation works were also validated via real-time control of hydraulic actuator.

Mapping the 3D Distribution of Shorea Tree Species Based Upon Information Extracted from Worldview-2 and LiDAR Data 基于Worldview-2和LiDAR数据提取的杉树树种三维分布制图

Mapping and monitoring trees in tropical forest is deemed necessary especially for forest personnel. Unfortunately, acquisition of tree parameters for mapping purposes are tedious due to labour intensive, timely and cost-consuming. Thus, the advancement of remote sensing technology which provides tree parameters economically in term of cost and time saving over large forest area is in demand. The intent of this study is to map the distribution of Shorea tree species in the Ampang Forest Reserve using information extracted from Worldview-2 and LiDAR datasets. The pan-sharpening Worldview-2 imagery was used to classify the tropical trees using the support vector machine (SVM) image classification method. The overall classification accuracy for SVM method was 90.28% and the individual accuracy for Shorea and mixed tree species ranges from 68.25% to 82.86%. Finally, the classified result was overlaid with tree height information extracted from LiDAR data and forming the 3D distribution of Shorea tree species in the dense tropical forest area.

Comparison of Segmentation Algorithm for Urban Tree Delineation using Aerial Imagery 基于航空影像的城市树木分割算法比较

The accurate tree delineation in urban environment is important for the efficient updating of urban planning, management as well as in the study of Urban Heat Island (UHI). In this study, trees in a selected urban area in the Terendak, Melaka are detected from aerial images by using multiresolution and feature extraction segmentation algorithm. Both segmentation results are classified using rule-based classification technique. The derived results demonstrate the ability of both object-based algorithms in delineating the tree crown in urban environment from aerial images. However, multiresolution segmentation with rule-based image classification produced a better result as compared to feature extraction’s result with 86% classification accuracy.

Implementation of Model Predictive Control on The Pitch Motion of Train Simulator Platform with Load Torque Uncertain 负载转矩不确定时列车模拟器平台俯仰运动模型预测控制的实现

This paper presents an analysis of the non-linearity of the torque load on the pitch platform movement of train simulator. Angle modelling of pitch available in many researches. However, for the changes of torque loads in the train simulator there has been no research that examines it. Then, this is one of the novelty we provided in this research. Beside that, we simulate Model Predictive Control (MPC) with a plant that contains non-linearity using simulation tool. In order to show the performance, we analyze its data and make a conclusion. As a Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR), MPC produces an optimal control signal that can overcome constraints such as saturation. In MPC implementation, we determine the number of horizons (N), weighting Q and R based on the desired specifications.. The simulation results showed that the MPC design can handle non-linearity well. However, it is merely a simulation. We have not applied it to a actual plant yet.

The project described in this paper is a combination of energy monitoring system and Internet of Things (IoT). A server is used to upload all the data gathered and to be monitored remotely. The emergence of Internet of Things based projects and ideas have positive impacts on the present way of life. With IoT, accessing and managing all the data is easier and can be done remotely. The proposed system will not involve a dedicated online server but will use an open source IoT platform to store and retrieve data. The uploaded data can then be used to perform an analysis on the usage of power whenever required. With this new approach, the application will help a user to be aware of electrical usage and cost at all times.
