Intracavity laser spectroscopy 腔内激光光谱学

The main features of broadband intracavity laser spectroscopy (ILS), the most sensitive technique of absorption-spectrum measurements, is investigated. The factors that limit the sensitivity of the ILS method are studied, and the conditions for reaching its maximum sensitivity are formulated. The main practical applications of the ILS method are described, such as detection of weak absorption spectra and measurements of low gas concentrations, registration of amplification spectra and of the spectral distribution of external radiation, measurement of the cross sections for nonlinear processes, investigation of transient processes in an electric discharge, and investigation of the kinetics of multistage chemical reactions.

High-power neodymium-glass waveguide laser 高功率钕玻璃波导激光器

Results are presented of an investigation of the lasing characteristics of a high-power neodymium silicate glass spoke-waveguide laser. The influence of short-lived color centers on the lasing properties is investigated. It is shown that short-lived color centers lead to generation of regular giant pulses with repetition frequency up to 30 kHz, to a substantial lengthening of the decay time of the neodymium-ion metastable level (via a decrease of the superluminescence background) and by the same token to an increase of the lasing efficiency. A high-power technological waveguide laser with spokelike active elements, emitting a train of regular giant pulses with total emission energy up to 20 J and high homogeneity of the emission-field distribution is developed on the basis of the reported investigations.

Many aspects of it have not been treated due to lack of space, e. g., the defects associated with the laser irradiation and the technological implication of the method, which may be found in recent literature [64].
