Bio-Management of root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) in tomato (Lycopersicon esculeutum L.) 番茄根结线虫的生物治理

Tomato (Lycopersicon esculeutum L.) is one of the most important vegetables grown in India. It is grown for the domestic market under both rains fed and irrigated conditions. Due to the high demand for tomato in the domestic market and for processing, farmers have extensively adopted high yielding varieties and modern technologies like greenhouse production to ensure year round production and increase production. Intensive tomato cultivation in India has resulted in build-up of soil borne diseases, especially root knot nematodes. Various bio-control agents’ viz. Trichoderma virde Paecilomyces lilacinus and Beauvaria bassiana were used for experimental purpose. The result showed that Trichoderma virde was very effective for the management of rootknot namatode followed by Paecilomyces lilacinus and Beauvaria bassiana respectively. Maximum growth parameters {shoot length (58.25cm), root-length (19.75cm), fresh shoot weight (15.37g), fresh root weight (2.37g) and number of fruits (2.25)} were observed in Trichoderma virde followed by P.lilacinus {shoot length (53.00cm), root-length (13.00cm), fresh shoot weight (11.75g), fresh root weight (2.12g) and number of fruits (1.7)} and Beauvaria bassiana {shoot length (49.75cm), root length (8.75cm), fresh shoot weight (9.25g), fresh root weight (1.25g) and number of root-knot was noted in T. viride (17.25), P. lilacinus (18.50) and B. bassiana (24.50) respectively). Water Scarcity in India: A Threat to Sustainable Management of Water 印度水资源短缺:对水资源可持续管理的威胁

Water is life for all the living organisms which is present on earth. Water is needed to ensure food security, feed livestock, and take up industrial production and to conserve the environment. Water scarcity involves water stress, water shortage or deficits, and water crisis. This may be due to both nature and humans. Main factors that contribute to this issue include poor management of resources, lack of government attention, awareness and anthropogenic waste. The increased value of solid wastes and other hazardous waste in water systems such as rivers, ponds, lakes and canals also heavily pollute the water quality. Government has to take stringent steps for the protection of natural resources because human being is dependent on environment for every basic needs and life is beyond imagination without natural resource like water.

Importance and Improvements in Teaching-Learning process through Effective Evaluation Methodologies 有效评价方法在教学过程中的重要性与改进

With the advancement of technologies, methods of teaching, learning and evaluation in higher education need modification from the current scenario. Teaching is key component in educational planning, which is one of the most important factor in steering educational plans. Despite the importance of good teaching, the outcomes are far from ideal. This paper deals to investigate effective teaching, learning and evaluation for higher education. Rapid changes in the modern world has caused the Higher Education System to face overabundance of challenges. Therefore, the training of more eager and thoughtful individuals in interdisciplinary fields is vital. Research and exploration to figure out effective teaching and learning methods are one of the most important necessities in the modern educational systems. Professors have a determining role in training eager and thoughtful individuals. Universities and colleges are the places where new ideas sprout; roots strike deep and grows tall and sturdy. These places embrace the entire universe of knowledge. These are the spaces where creative minds converge, interact with each other and construct visions for noble realities. Established notions of truth are challenged in the pursuit of knowledge.

An Introduction to water quality analysis 水质分析概论

Though the surface of the earth is mostly consists of water, only a small part of it is usable, which makes this resource very limited. This precious and limited resource, therefore, must be used with prudence. As water is required for different purposes, the suitability of it must be checked before use. Also, sources of water must be monitored regularly to determine whether they are in sound health or not. Poor condition of water bodies are not only the indictor of environmental degradation, it is also a threat to the ecosystem. In industries, improper quality of water may cause hazards and severe economic loss. Thus, the quality of water is very important in both environmental and economic aspects. Thus, water quality analysis is essential for using it in any purpose. After years of research, water quality analysis is now consists of some standard protocols. There are guidelines for sampling, preservation and analysis of the samples. Here the standard chain of action is discussed briefly so that it may be useful to the analysts and researchers.

Nano-emulsion of methylmetacrylate / butyl acrylate crosslinked an application in acrylic emulsion paints 甲基丙烯酸酯/丙烯酸丁酯交联纳米乳液在丙烯酸乳液涂料中的应用

This work proposes self-crosslinked nano-emulsion synthesized by emulsion polymerization of butyl acrylate (BA), methyl methacrylate (MMA), methacrylic acid (MAA) and mixed emulsifier via pre-emulsified and semi-continuous seeded emulsion polymerization technology in the presence of N-methylolacryamide and glycedyl methyl acrylate. Emulsions used as pigment binders have to deal with the challenge to assure an outstanding film configuration and exterior as well as good mechanical properties. The influence of the mass ratio of BA to MMA, the amount of N-methylolacryamide and glycedyl methyl acrylate on the paint's properties of the self-crosslinked emulsion was examined. And the relationship between emulsion viscosity and particle size was investigated. The results show that the self crosslinked acrylate emulsion with high viscosity can be synthesized with 50:50 monomer composition of BA: MMA and added amount of N-methylolacryamide is 0.3%−1.0% and added amount of solidum persulphate is 0.5%−1.5%. The particle size of emulsion in the range of 200 to 470 nm. The self-crosslinkage process of N-methylolacryamide involves two steps. . Emulsions used as pigment binders have to deal with the challenge to assure an outstanding film configuration and exterior as well as good mechanical properties. The influence of the mass ratio of BA to MMA, the amount of N-methylolacryamide and glycedyl methyl acrylate on the paint's properties of the self-crosslinked emulsion was examined. And the relationship between emulsion viscosity and particle size was investigated. Mutagenic Studies of male meiosis in chromium treated accessions of Eleusine coracana 铬处理锦鲤雄性减数分裂的诱变研究

The mutagenic effect of heavy doses of Cr on male gametophyte development were investigated in two accessions of genus Eleusine coracana (E1 and E2) by using parameters like chromosome configuration at metaphase I/diakinesis, chiasmata/chromosome frequency, number of spores/tetrad, pollen size and pollen sterility. Both the accessions had 2n=18. The frequency of chiasmata/chromosome was found to be >0.7 and <0.8 in the treated plants. The meiotic course was found to be abnormal in all the treatments and their frequency of anomalies increased with the increase in Cr concentration. Abnormalities noticed were restitution nucleus, clumping, chromatin bridges at telophase I/II, micronuclei at telophase I and II, etc. The spore arrangement was found to be tetrahedral. Triads and polyads were also found along with tetrads. The pollen sterility in E1 treatment were found to be 32 to 34 % and in E2 from 33 to 34%. The pollen/anther in E1 different treatments varied from 251 to 309 and in E2 from 285 to 311. The pollen diameter in E1 was found to be 27 to 35 μm and in E2 from 31 to 38 μm . Ecological studies on benthic community of Asigaga River, Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, India 印度北阿坎德邦Uttarkashi Asigaga河底栖生物群落生态学研究

The Benthos characteristics of the Asiganga River were analyzed during November 2008-October 2009. The samples were collected from Sangamchatti (Site—S1) and Gangori (Site—S2) at Uttarkashi. A total of 20 benthic genera were recorded in present study belonging to six major groups viz. Ephemeroptera (4), diptera (6), trichoptera (5), coleoptera (2), lepidoptera(1), plecoptera (1) and neuroptera (1). The present study revealed that the water quality of river Asiganga was fairly good for the growth and survival of benthos, and as a result it sustains the higher benthic diversity of Asiganga River.
