Background: This study aimed to assess eventual disturbances of spatio-temporal end contextual memory in patient with stroke in order to better grasp these patient’s attitudes so as to track their neuropsychological accompaniments. Method: fifty-five (55) patients with stroke, after having traveled a loop, had to recognize among 27 pictures of the CHU of Cocody (Cote d’Ivoire) those belonging to the previously traveled path in the company of the experimenter. The pictures were presented to the participants. The participants had to say if "yes" or "no" the pictures presented belongs to the previously traveled path in the company of the experimenter. Then the photographs are presented by pair to the subject who is required to give the exact order of the photographs as seen on the route traveled. Results: When recognizing pictures with order effect, we found a significant difference (F (46) = 12.45, p = 0.0010) between the number of exact responses given by patients with stroke and that given by healthy controls subjects. Conclusion: patients with stroke were deficient in establishing the chronological order of succession of views

The mobile radiation seems to be severe among children than the adults because their skulls are tiny and thinner. Mobile phones emit radiations and RF-EMF is considered as a Group 2B (carcinogen) and the survey suggests that 10-year latency period is practically enough for the development of tumors. The studies from various groups involve cases of 35487 and controls about 82609. The results for meta- analysis of glioma gave an odd ratio OR=1.10, 95% CI=0.79-1.54 and for the latency period ≥10 years, OR=1.38, 95% CI=0.70-2.73. The highest risk was found in the age group below 20 years from the Hardell Group.

Background: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is one of the most widely spread developmental disorders that has raised an urgent public health concern. Regardless of advances in modern technology and research studies there is more to the disorder to be considered in the endeavor of finding the cause and treatment. This study focuses on the caregiver’s aspect of the problem. The quality of life for caregivers of children with an ASD is very crucial for developing their children’s full potential. Method: Forty-five participants (n=45) were recruited from the Southeastern Pennsylvania Autism Resource Center (SPARC), the Autism Society of America – Greater Philadelphia Chapter, and Autism Alliances to voluntarily contribute to an online survey assessing the social and financial difficulties/burdens that are facing caregivers of children with an ASD Results: Caregivers of children with ASD are facing tremendous financial and social burdens. No statistical difference in financial (U=24.0, z=-0.1, p=.340) or social burden (U=26.5, z=-0.8, p=.420) between caregivers having one vs. one or more children diagnosed with an ASD. No statistical difference in financial (t=-1.1, p=.270) or social burden (t=-0.3, p=.764) among caregivers who had one child vs. more than one child Conclusion: Findings suggest an urgent need for health administrators to advocate to find solutions to the financial and social difficulties facing caregivers who have children with autism.

The relationship among self, mind and brain is not clearly known. Self's subjective experience of perception and cognition of words, feeling, thoughts etc. is supported by the integrity of human brain. The relationship between the self and human brain activity is not explicitly understood. Recent experimental evidence suggests that the neural correlate of consciousness is located in certain parts of the cortico-thalamic system. However, it is not clearly known specifically which parts of the human brain are involved in the human cognitive activity. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG) have been used in the study of normalcy, psychiatric disorders and brain injuries. FMRI and qEEG are applied in diagnosis and clinical drug treatment of psychiatric disorders and brain injuries. In this study, the author analyzed results of published articles related to the above descried fields to find the relationship among self, mind and brain, and proposed the mechanism involved in the self, mind and brain in normalcy, psychiatric disorders and brain injuries, and further the interaction between self and brain. Results of analysis reveal remarkable parallels between the author's tree-pattern architecture of brain and mind activity in the ultron-logotoron theory (ULT) and the operational architectonics (OA) of brain-mind relation in qEEG study reported by Fingelkurts and his coworkers.

Background: Restoration of independent gait in stroke patients is an essential part of the rehabilitation process, and is crucial for successful social and vocational reintegration. Gait restoration requires different techniques, and often demands considerable assistance from the therapist to help the subject support body weight and control balance. Considering that ground level is the most common locomotion surface, and that there is little information about individuals with stroke walking with body weight support treadmill training (BWSTT), it is important to investigate the use of BWSTT on ground level in these individuals to improve gait recovery. Methods: Sixty-nine subjects were assigned to this experiment, of which twenty-six were normal subjects and forty-three were stroke subjects, who were randomly divided into two groups; twenty-one subjects for the control group, and twenty-two subjects for the experimental group. The control group underwent regular rehabilitation care plus conventional gait training, while the experimental group underwent regular rehabilitation care plus BWSTT. Measurements were recorded for mean sagittal kinematics values, spatial-temporal values, and FIM™ locomotion Results: BWSTT proved superior to conventional gait training in sub-acute stroke subjects, resulting in better locomotor abilities. The use of BWSTT leads to significant improvements for most sagittal kinematics, spatial-temporal and all FIM™ locomotion measurements. Conclusion: The BWSTT system enabled individuals with stroke to walk safely and without physical assistance. The positive results of training by the use of body weight support on a treadmill could be due to a task-oriented type of training.

The aim of this study is to measure the concentration level of health care resources such as the doctors, nurses with midwives, outpatient entities and general hospital beds in Poland. It will also allow to identify inequities to access to these resources and thus also to health care services. The Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI) was employed to measure the concentration level of the health care resources in Poland. The data for these health care resources spanning all Poland for the period of 2013-2017 were collected. The concentration of health care resources was measured in each of the 16 voivodeships in Poland based on the aggregated data at the powiat level. This approach arises from the limitation in the availability of data, which was collected from the public statistical system. The HHI indices support the assertion that in the period of analysis the entire general hospital beds, doctors and nurses with midwives sectors in Poland have been at average moderately concentrated and thus moderately competitive with the growing tendency to higher concentration and less competitive. The sector of outpatient’s entities appeared to be mainly unconcentrated. Moreover, the concentration of all health care resources is diversified across the voivodeships of Poland and it is quite uneven, which can limit the access to health care services.

We report a case of a 14 year old male who presented with lower abdominal pain and passing grossly red urine intermittently for 20 days, having no history of sore throat, skin lesions, blurring of vision, hearing loss and similar family history.A full serology and urology workup was negative for any abnormality. Kidney biopsy revealed uniform thin and slender appearing GBM without any other structural abnormality.Though Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and genetic analysis were not done, a diagnosis of thin basement membrane nephropathy (TBMN), a genetically benign hematuria without kidney failure progression is made. Skin biopsy histopathological examination also revealed finding of thin basement membrane this needs to be differentiated from Alport’s syndrome (AS) which has worse prognosis. Probably this is the first case reported from India with descriptive investigations and findings. Due to rarity of this disease and non-availability of laboratory facility especially for kidney biopsy examination, diagnosis is often missed or delayed at primary health care centers especially when no associated proteinuria has yet developed.
