In a very industrialized world, where humans only eat transgenic food, some plates make for surprising dishes... This story is a thought about our epoch, an ironic and critical vision of the food-processing industry. The agribusiness uses the scientific progress to make a profit, to the detriment of the public health. The story finds a place in a world polluted and denatured by experiments, where all men eat only giant snails. In this context, a man explores a giant empty shell which becomes the gate of hell.

Fantasista Utamaro, Shane Lester, Bruce Ikeda, Kana Wakabayashi, San Takashima
Hanabeam is the lead track and video from Hifana's album 24H, released July 28, 2010. With the sound of fireworks at the core, this explosive single was composed by Hifana and is a fresh sonic expression of a Japanese summer matsuri (festival), filtered through Hifana's signature Tokyo-born Japanese hybrid breakbeats. The video, co-directed by Fantasista Utama-ro and Shane Lester, is another potent expression of Hifana's unique mixing of the old and new of Japanese aesthetics, updating and hybridizing the rich cultural traditions of matsuri and hanabi (fireworks). Hifana are represented by two Hanabi-shi (fireworks craftsmen) in this video, as they gradually re-energize a depressed city through the power of their beats, arriving at an enchanted temple where they unleash their final ultimate hanabi, triggering a colorful climax of explosive energy.

An exploration through a mysterious underwater world inspired by the forms and movement of sea life and micro organisms. Hybrid organic and synthetic creatures undulate and wander through heavy waters in concert with the cinematic soundtrack. Pororoca was created using a blend of processes and techniques fusing traditional 3D and 2D work with an experimental approach based around procedural animation. Combining audio analysis with dynamic systems designed for traditional visual effects work, the piece strives to enhance its surreal abstraction with extremely fluid organic movement.

This work is produced independently by the CG production room which belongs to the TV commercial production company to send the individuality and to improve the animation skill. In this piece, the transparent cloth generated from the 3dsMax's Cloth Simulation gives preformance in a space representing the ocean. The work gives priority to Cloth Simulation, and attempt to unify those simulation result and direction in the setting of microgravity world. The most challenging part was giving "transparent, thin vinyl-like abject pealing from the space and dance in the air" a pleasant feeling to the viewer's first impression by its movement and the structure of cuts. Another challenge was 'How much fantastical and exquisite visual you can construct with the control of the texture of inflection and the light.' I gave an artistic quality to this work so that it could appeal to people's instinct."

Exodus is my Graduation film. I started this project in 2006 and finished it in 2010 as my graduation film. It was my goal to create a shortfilm based on music. I wanted to perfectly adjust picture and music so it would conceal what was first, the sound or the vision to inextricably melt the two together.

Wave, splash, bubble and all fluid movement were created by our original fluid simulator to bling realistic and correct expression. In the beautiful ocean, dolphins, whale sharks, great white sharks, humpback whales and other beautiful animals appear one after another and show their life in the great water world.
