Effects of Auricular Acupuncture Therapy at Adult Men on Smoking Cessation 耳针疗法对成年男性戒烟的影响

Objectives : This study was performed to examine the effectiveness of auricular acupuncture to adult men on smoking cessation. Methods : 47 smoking people was divided two groups : experimental group(treated with auricular acupuncture therapy, n=22) and control group(not treated with auricular acupuncture therapy, n=25). We used Lung point, Shenmen point and Endocrine point twice a week for 4 weeks to experimental group. We assessed the changes in amount of daily smoking, desire of smoking, taste of smoking and nicotine dependence as well as subjective symptoms were studied. Results : The experimental group showed significant decrease in amount of daily smoking, desire of smoking, taste of smoking and nicotine dependence. Subjective symptoms also showed improvement comparing to control group. Conclusions : Acupuncturing lung, shenmen, and endocrine point showed effectiveness on decreasing smoking rates and subjective symptoms. Therefore the auricular acupuncture therapy is expected to helpful to smoking cessation and improve the health of smokers.
目的:本研究旨在探讨耳穴针灸对成年男性戒烟的效果。方法:将47例吸烟人群分为实验组(耳针治疗组,n=22)和对照组(未耳针治疗组,n=25)。实验组采用肺穴、肾门穴、内分泌穴,每周2次,治疗4周。我们评估了每日吸烟量、吸烟欲望、吸烟味道和尼古丁依赖的变化,并研究了主观症状。结果:实验组患者日吸烟量、吸烟欲望、吸烟滋味、尼古丁依赖均明显降低。与对照组相比,主观症状也有所改善。结论:针刺肺穴、肾门穴、内分泌穴对降低吸烟率和主观症状有明显疗效。因此,耳针疗法有望有助于戒烟和改善吸烟者的健康状况。

A Case Study of 13 Patients with Lateral Epicondylitis of Elbow Using Deep Thermo-conductive Acupuncture Therapy 深部热导针治疗肘关节外上髁炎13例临床分析

Objectives : The Purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of the deep thermo-conductive acupuncture therapy for the patients with lateral epicondylitis of the elbow. Methods : Thirteen patients with lateral epicondylitis were included from April 2011 to December 2012 and all the patients were treated with the deep thermo-conductive acupuncture therapy. Then we checked visual analog scale(VAS) scores of the patients at every hospital visit, and compared the differences for before and after treatment. We also divided them into 3 age groups(in 40s, 50s, 60s) and 4 groups of the duration of illness(~ 1 week, ~ 1month, ~ 6 months, 6 months ~), and compared the effects for 3 age groups as well as 4 groups of duration of illness. Results : 1. VAS scores had been changed significantly from 6.0769±1.5390 to 3.3077± 1.9207(p=0.005). 2. No significant differences were found between 3 age groups(p=0.968) as well as 4 groups of the duration of illness(p=0.724). Conclusions : This study suggests that deep thermo-conductive acupuncture therapy is effective for healing of the lateral epicondylitis of elbow. But the age and the duration of illness seem to have no influence on results.
目的:探讨深部热传导性针刺治疗肘关节外上髁炎的疗效。方法:选取2011年4月~ 2012年12月收治的13例外上髁炎患者,均采用深部热传导性针刺治疗。检查患者每次就诊时的视觉模拟评分(VAS),比较治疗前后的差异。我们还将他们分为3个年龄组(40岁、50岁、60岁)和4个病程组(~ 1周、~ 1个月、~ 6个月、~ 6个月),比较3个年龄组和4个病程组的效果。结果:1;VAS评分由6.0769±1.5390提高至3.3077±1.9207,差异有统计学意义(p=0.005)。2. 3个年龄组间差异无统计学意义(p=0.968), 4个组间差异无统计学意义(p=0.724)。结论:深热传导性针刺治疗肘关节外上髁炎疗效显著。但是年龄和疾病的持续时间似乎对结果没有影响。

Inhibitory Effects of Bee Venom on Growth of A549 Lung Cancer Cells via Induction of Death Receptors 蜂毒通过诱导死亡受体抑制A549肺癌细胞生长的作用

This study was to investigated the effects of the bee venom on inhibition of cell growth via upregulation of death receptor expression in the A549 human lung cancer cells. Bee venom(1-5 μg/ml) inhibited the growth of A549 lung cancer cells by the induction of apoptotic cell death in a dose dependent manner. Consistent with apoptotic cell death, expression of TNFR1, Fas, death receptors(DR) 3, 4 and 6 was increased in the cells. Expression of DR downstream pro-apoptotic proteins including caspase-3, -9 and Bax was concomitantly increased, but the expression of Bcl-2, NF-kB were inhibited by treatment with bee venom in A549 cells. Moreover, deletion of DR3, DR4 by small interfering RNA significantly reversed bee venom-induced cell growth inhibitory effect, whereas Apo3L strengthened anti-proliferative effect of bee venom through enhancement of DR3 expression. These results suggest that bee venom should exert anti-tumor effect through induction of apoptotic cell death in lung cancer cells via enhancement of death receptor expression, and that bee venom could be a promising agent for preventing and treating lung cancer.
