Anatolichthys marassantensis widely distributed in Kızılırmak drainage, and few records also available from Yeşilırmak drainage. However, the existing literature has not provided a morphological comparison between Kızılırmak and Yeşilırmak populations in a systematic approach. The present study examines, for the first time, the morphology/morphometry of A. marassantensis from both of the drainages based on additional material from Simenlik-Akgöl Lagoon Lake in Yeşilırmak drainage and published data (type materials) from Kızılırmak River. A total of 40 specimens from Simenlik-Akgöl Lagoon were compared for morphometric and morphological characters with the type measurements. According to the results of this study, morphological characters largely overlapped between selected populations of Yeşilırmak and Kızılırmak Rivers. The results obtained from this study clearly demonstrate the presence of A. marassantensis in a new location in the Yeşilırmak drainage with consistent morphological data.

In recent years, maritime-related organizations and companies have moved to a risk-based approach. To determine the risks, it is necessary to understand comprehensively why accidents occur and how it develops. The most effective measures need to be identified to implement the accident prevention measures successfully. According to the results of scientific studies conducted in the past, 80% of human factors risks were effective in marine accidents. Nowadays, maritime technologies are the most effective method for reducing the risks of human factors. However, the use of electronic navigation devices has not eliminated accidents. In this study, the accident reports for collision and grounding due to the electronic navigation devices' risk was evaluated using Human Factors Analysis and Classification System (HFACS) method. As a result of the study, more than half of the visible (active) causes of accidents have been identified as operating failure factors in electronic navigation equipment. Recommendations to prevent the occurrence of accident factors have been made.

In this study, the compliance of domestic wastewater discharges to the sea from the urban coastal settlements of Ordu Province with the criteria specified in the regulations was investigated. For this purpose, in 2018, samples were taken from the wastewater inlet and wastewater outlet at 8 different domestic wastewater treatment stations located in urban coastal settlements, twice a month, every month 2018. BOD5 (Biological Oxygen Demand), COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), TP (Total Phosphorus), TN (Total Nitrogen), TSS (Suspended Solids), and pH analysis were performed in the wastewater samp-les. In the evaluation of the data obtained, the parameters and upper limit values are given in the Urban Wastewater Treatment Regulation and in the Water Pollution Control Regulation were taken as a basis. In the research, it was determined that they were able to function smoothly in Altınordu-Durugöl, Altınordu-Kumbaşı, Gülyalı, Ünye-Doğu and Ünye-Batı treatment stations. At the domestic wastewater treatment stations in Fatsa District, wastewater is discharged into the sea after physical pretreatment. It has been determined that there is no significant difference between the wastewater inlet and wastewater outlet parameter values at the treatment stations in this district. This shows that domestic wastewater is discharged into the sea without being treated sufficiently at the treatment stations in Fatsa District. In Persembe District, domestic wastewater is directly discharged into the receiving environment. As a result, wastewater treatment plants with the capacity and characteristics to meet the needs should be established and put into operation in the districts of Perşembe and Fatsa. In addition, it is beneficial to establish pre-treatment facilities in the indust-rial zones in order to prevent the wastewater from small and large industrial sites operating in the province of Ordu and Organized Industrial Zones from mixing with domestic wastewater. Domestic wastewater and stormwater networks operating in the adjacent system throughout the province of Ordu should be converted into separate network lines.
本研究调查了奥尔都省沿海城市住区向海洋排放的生活污水是否符合条例规定的标准。为此,2018年每个月从位于城市沿海住区的8个不同生活污水处理站的污水入口和污水出口采集样本,每月两次。对废水样品进行BOD5(生物需氧量)、COD(化学需氧量)、TP(总磷)、TN(总氮)、TSS(悬浮物)和pH分析。

The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has affected seafarers worldwide. This paper demonstrates the measures taken to prevent the spread of the corona-virus on merchant ships and evaluates them in terms of importance and applicability. Contamination reducing measures were determined through expert opinion and literature review. While their importance values were calculated using the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process method in which the total integral value with optimism index was applied, the applicability levels were revealed using a fivepoint Likert scale. The imbalance in rest and working hours was clearly seen in the re-sults. Immune system pro-tective measures were the most critical measures; however, two of them have the lowest applicability val-ue among all criteria. They were followed by the measures taken through training, the measures to be applied in case of personnel showing disease symptoms, and the temperature measurement. In terms of the ship locations and ship operations, maintaining physical distance on deck at the port was found more critical. Its applicability level was slightly below average. This paper is the first study in the literature in which the measures taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic on merchant ships were demonstrated in detail and evaluated with scientific methods in terms of importance and applicability. The research findings will help companies in the risk assessment process and contribute to the enhancement of the preparedness of the maritime industry for such situations by helping to protect the seafarers’ health and safety.

This study was conducted to evaluate the potential of sweet potato Ipomoea bata-tas powder (IbSPP), hot-water extracts (IbSPHWE) and crude ethanolic extracts (IbSPCEE) as growth pro-moter and immunoenhancer for tilapia cultured in hapa nets. Fish were divided ran-domly into four Treatments: T1 (control group) was fed a practical diet (PD) while T2, T3 and T4 were fed PD + IbSP powder (P), PD + IbSP hot-water extract (HWE), PD + IbSP Crude Ethanol Extracts (CCE), respective-ly. The growth indices and haematological profile of cultured fish were recorded after four months of feeding experiment. The final weight, weight gain, specific growth rate, condition factor, FCR, PER, FER were significantly higher in fishes that re-ceived PD +IbSPHWE than those that received either PD, PD + IbSPCEE or PD+ IbSPP only. The same trend was observed with the RBC, Hb, HCT, WBC and the PLT and its indices. The study has demonstrated that in-corporation of the hot-water extracts of I. batatas could improve the growth perfor-mance and increase immu-nocompetence of O. nilot-icus as evidenced by im-proved haematological pro-file.

This study evaluated the antibacterial effects of different red seaweed (Kappaphycus striatus, Eucheuma denticulatum, Hydropuntia edulis) against Salmonella arizonae that caused disease in goldfish Carassius auratus. In vitro antibacterial susceptibility was determined using a standard disc diffusion assay. Further in vivo experiments were conducted on seaweeds with the highest zone of inhibition. Results showed that K. striatus had the highest zone of inhibition with 30.9 ±0.62 mm followed by H. edulis (29.6 ±1.61 mm), and E. denticulatum (27.6 ±0.51 mm). Promisingly, the antibacterial activity of seaweeds tested was comparable with that of cefixime, trimethoprim, and novobiocin and was significantly higher than the other seven antibiotics tested in this study. Moreover, the in vivo treatment of K. striatus to S. arizonae challenged C. auratus significantly decreased the mortality; the positive control group attained 100% mortality while the treated group had 40% mortality after 10 days of post-infection. This study showed the potential use of K. striatus to control S. arizonae infection in aquarium fishes.

Some Cyprinid fish species: Cyprinion macrostomum (Heckel, 1843), Capoeta umbla (Heckel, 1843), Chondrostoma regium (Heckel, 1843), and Squalius cephalus (Linnaeus, 1758) living naturally in the Murat River, were investigated for Protozoan and Crustacean parasite fauna and their distribution. Fish samples were collected from different stations between July 2017 - June 2019, examined in the Bingöl University Zoology Research Laboratory, and the data were explained with various variables. The normality test revealed that the data were not normally distributed (p< 0.05), as with large samples, so non-parametric tests explained the data. A total of 365 fish were examined, and 100 fish (27.4%) were infected with at least one Protozoan or Crustacean parasite. Four different parasite species were recorded on the examined fish, namely Ichthyophthirius multifiliis and Trichodina sp. belonging to the phylum Ciliophora (Protozoan), Ergasilus sieboldi, and Lamproglena pulchella belonging to the phylum Arthropoda (Crustacean). As a result of this study, for the first time, Protozoan and Crustacean parasites of different cyprinid fish were examined according to the host species, seasonal distribution, host size, and new host records were reported for three parasites.

In this study, the isolation of green algae were collected from two different stations of Aegean Sea and Seyfe Lake. The molecular identification of Dunaliella species using their 18S ribosomal DNA genes were sequenced and investigated with the BLAST program in the NCBI database. After the morphological and molecular identification, two different Dunaliella species were deposited in Ege University Microalgae Culture Collection. D. salina and D. polymorpha cells were firstly produce in both bubble column to monitor the growth profiles and then the species were cultivated in bubble column and stirred column photobioreactors (PBRs) under both high light intensity and different mixing conditions to investigate the total protein, carbohydrate, lipids and carotenoid concentrations. Moreover, this study aims to evaluate the production of β-carotene using two different PBRs. As a result of this study, D. salina in stirred PBR obtained the highest lipid (334.79 ±0.02 mg/L), total carotenoid (96.7 ±0.02 mg/L), and β-carotene content (21.18 ±0.03 µg/mL), while the maximum dry cell mass of 0.906 g/L was reached by D. polymorpha in bubble column PBR. The aim of this study was to investigate the nutritional values and β-carotene content of Dunaliella salina and D. polymorpha isolated from Turkey.

In this study, the population parameters, recruitment period, exploitation rate, and stock status of deepwater pink shrimp (Parapenaeus longirostris Lucas, 1846) in the eastern Sea of Marmara were investigated. Growth showed negative allometry, and, b-values were signifi-cantly lower than 3 for females′ and males′ (p < 0.05). Females and males' growth performance indexes (φ) of P. longirostris were determined as 2.91 and 2.89, respectively. Asymptotic carapace lengths (CL∞), growth coefficients (K), and theoretical birth ages (t0) of females and males were calculated as 32.55, 28.67 mm, and 0.760, 0.950, and –0.233, –0769, respectively. The maximum exploitation rates (Emax) were calculated as 0.82 for females and as 0.90 for males. The first capture lengths (CL50) for females and males were estimated to be 18.78 and 18.07 mm, respectively. Two recruitment periods were determined for P. longirostris for females and males. The recruitment period was estimated to be between February and April, July and November. The yield perrecruit (YPR) analysis for females and males revealed that E0.1 = 0.72 and 0.80 approached the maximum exploitation rate (Emax = 0.82 and 0.90), respectively, indicating that exploitation for P. longirostris was in quadrant category "C" in the Eastern Marmara Sea. This status demonstrated active fishing, according to the quadrant rule.
