Educational regarding proper tooth brushing procedures needs to be carried out since preschool, because this is a golden time to build a habit. However, the proportion of correct brushing behavior based on RISKESDAS 2019 is only 2.8%. To overcome this behavior, it is necessary to provide treatment that attracts children's attention, such as providing educational games. The educational game that designed by researchers is about Tooth brushing Simulation using the Doctor Toys Set Educational Game Tool and video for how to play. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of educational games to improve toothbrushing skills in Atikan Kindergarten, Bandung City. This research method uses a pre-experimental one group pre-test – post-test design which was carried out in April 2022 with a total sampling of 20 children. Toothbrushing skills were observed 2 times, before treatment (pre-test) and after treatment with educational games (post-test). Data analysis used paired-T test. The average score of the correct brushing movement before and after doing the Educational Game on Simulation of Brushing Teeth was 6.65 and 11.85 and there was a significant difference based on the mean score (p<0.05). The conclusion is that an Educational Game about Simulation of Brushing Teeth with Doctor Toys Set and a video of how to play the tool can be used to improve tooth brushing skills in pre-school children.

Data from the 2018 Riskesdas reported that 96.5% of the 10-14 years old group had good tooth brushing behavior, namely brushing their teeth every day. However, from this percentage, only 2.1% brushed their teeth at the right time. Plaque cannot be removed be simply rinsing and sprying water. Plaque can only be completely removed by mechanical means. Herbal toothpaste is toothpaste that contains natural ingredients such as extracts (betel leaf, lime and salt). The addition of herbs to toothpaste is expected to inhibit plaque growth. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of herbal toothpaste with betel leaf extract, lime juice and salt to reduce plaque in grade IV children at Pudak Payung 01 Elementary School. The type of research used was descriptive quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. Namely by examining the plaque directly into the oral cavity of children who are research respondents. The results showed that the herbal extract paste (betel leaf, lime, and salt) was more effective and most significant in reducing the dental plaque score, which decreased by 22.2 with an average decrease in score of 1.2. It is hoped that children at Pudak Payung 01 Elementary School can always maintain healthy teeth and mouth by using herbal extract tooth paste (betel leaf, lime and salt).

Dental health education in children is an effort that can emotionally eliminate fear, want to observe, and foster curiosity so that children physically perform activities that are demonstrated for their health. The selection of dental health education media must be considered in detail and carefully so that the media displayed can have an effect on increasing children's behavior in maintaining oral health. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the effectiveness of dental health education with dental health education video media and animated videos on improving the oral health maintenance behavior of 4-5 grade students of Brebes 14 State Elementary School. Research Methods Quasi experimental with pre and post-test design with Two Group Design. The sample used in this study was 60 students of Brebes 14 State Elementary School with purposive sampling technique. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis, namely the Wilcoxon test to prove whether there is a change in oral health maintenance behavior before and after being given dental health education and the Mann-Whitney test to determine the effectiveness of the two dental health education media. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed that the average value of dental health maintenance behavior with dental health education video media was 47.3. Dental health maintenance behavior with animated video media is 43.9. And the Mann-Whitney test results show significant results p-value = 0.000 <0.05. It can be concluded that dental health education with dental health education video media is more effective in improving oral health maintenance behavior compared to using animated video media with a p-value <0.05.
