This paper presents Cognitive Radio (CR), an emergent technology, as an alternative solution to the fixed allocation of frequency to licensed users. Indeed, CR Networks avoid wasting spectrum resources by allowing unlicensed users to access a band of frequencies. However, these users should not cause harmful interferences to the licensed users. To reach this goal, CR Networks' users have to exhibit a set of required features and to implement functions of cognitive radio systems. This paper focuses on CR sensing techniques. It derives a set of requirements, presents, criticizes spectrum sensing existing techniques and proposes a Radio Frequency Fingerprint detection framework.

This letter correspondence exposes results of a simple and appropriate technique for tracking a moving person in a stream captured and stored in a suitable memory. This method is based on research of similar block only in the next frame or on the range of frames in the video sequence in question. The proposed process of tracking people in a single view from one static camera starts like any video surveillance system with background subtraction. Then, a Minimal Boundary Rectangle is used to surround the moving people in each frame. A selected block of 8×8 sizes is used to calculate the values of their entire joint blocks component in the following frames of the used video sequence. Finally, we search the similarity measure: The minimal of the Optimized Sum of Squared Difference and the Fast Fourier Transform Correlation. The same blocks are correlated in the posterior frames corresponding to the minimum error.

Recommender systems are systems that filter information depending on users' profiles and suggest items that might match their preferences. While the majority of existing researches compute recommendation by considering only users and items, Context Aware Recommendation Systems (CARS) consider, in addition to users and items, others features related to the context. A first issue in CARS studies is to identify the contextual features. In this paper, we investigate the use of Text Classification techniques to extract contextual features from users' reviews. We conduct experiments to identify the best classification algorithm for our dataset. We evaluate our approach on hotel reviews. We focus on extracting the trip type, as contextual information, from these reviews. Results show that the Multinomial Naive Bayes performs best in our dataset, with a Fl score of 60.1 %. Since contextual information are not always provided in the reviews, we think that our results are promising. We conclude that this research area needs deeper studies.

In this paper, we present a dual audio watermarking system that ensures the double constraints robustness and high embedding capacity. The proposed technique tens to incorporate two different watermarks in a digital audio signal with a view to reinforce of the copyright protection and embed an important amount of information. To meet this end, we show how Spread Spectrum and Quantization-Based Watermarking techniques can be combined together. Then we evaluate the performances of this novel technique in terms of inaudibility, bit rate, and robustness.

In this paper, we propose a method for characterizing a musical signal by extracting a set of sinusoidal descriptors reflecting the maximum information contained in this signal. We focus our study on a signal of oriental music characterized by its richness in tone that can be extended to 1/4 tone, taking into account the frequency and time characteristics of this type of music. To do so, the descriptors are extracted from the original signal which is framed and analyzed on a window of short duration. This signal is viewed as the result of a combined modulation of amplitude and frequency. For this result, we apply short-term the non-stationary sinusoidal modeling technique. In each segment, the signal is represented by a set of sinusoids characterized by their intrinsic parameters: amplitudes, frequencies and phases. The extraction technique adopted is closely related to the slot window; therefore great importance is devoted to the study and the choice of the kind of the window and its width. It must be of variable length in order to get better results in the practical implementation of our method. For this purpose, evaluation tests were carried out by synthesizing the signal from the estimated parameters. Interesting results have been identified concerning the comparison of the synthesized signal with the original one.

The product life cycle management (PLM) system focuses on tracking and managing the information of whole product life cycle, with possible feedback of information to product life cycle phases. It provides opportunities to reduce the inefficiency of life cycle operations and gain in term of competitiveness. Our research consist of the effective management of product life cycle activities by using product data/information/knowledge which are accumulated in the closed-loops of product life cycle with the support of product embedded information devices (PIEDs), multi-agent systems (MAS) and product data & knowledge management (PDKM). In this article we propose an approach based on three organizations: physical product, product Agent, and PLM system. The product Agent can gather product life cycle information from each product with a mobile device such as a personal digital assistant (PDA) or a fixed reader with built-in antenna. He sends information gathered at each site (e.g retail sites, distribution sites ... ) to a PLM system. From the PLM's point of view, the product is allowing itself to manage information resources relevant layers to itself in a distributed manner is a logical and practical approach.

The aim of this paper is to look for efficient algorithms allowing to deal with taking into account the modelization and the cartography of the sea components. Through the analysis carried on the family of Growing Neural Gas with an evolutive (scalable) architecture and with non supervised competitive learning, some modifications and improvements (modified IGNG) have been brought in order to associate them with the neural network of modelization; this modification is essentially focused on the automation of parameters. So as to improve the results, we propose in our technique to widen the sphere of influence of the RBF by multiplying the Gaussian widths by a factor which is automatically sought for so as to minimize the error of modelization on the learning basis. A study on the type of Gaussian widths of the REF and their shapes has been carried. The developed methodology, the implemented procedures and the proposed networks all yielded satisfying results.

Over the past thirty years, considerable research has been invested in the development of computer systems for effectively teaching students. Among these systems, the adaptive web-based educational systems (AESs) were a promising research field. Designing and authoring such systems is not easy task. Thus, several tools were proposed in order to facilitate authors' jobs. However, in particular, authoring domain model still suffers the manual work. This paper presents an approach for minimizing effort of authoring process by allowing system being part of construction.

Systems become complex and no more restricted to one specific domain. So, it is impracticable to describe the whole system by one model. This leads to resolve the problem of composing the domain models described by the system. In this context, this article proposes a new approach for composing specific domain models. First, we analyze some related works. On the basis of the key findings and conclusions drawn from the analysis, we propose a multidimensional approach based on the composition of crosscutting concerns contained in the source domain models.

In this paper, we present a semi-fuzzy collaborative algorithm for detecting the optimal number of clusters in a given data set of unlabeled objects. This algorithm is based on a measure of inter-points similarity that allows the detection and creation of clusters, plus a measure of ambiguity that allows collaboration between clusters during their formation. The algorithm also provides a matrix of optimized prototypes representing all the detected clusters. The performance of the proposed method is demonstrated through three examples of test data.
