THREE-PHASE TO SINGLE-PHASE GENERATION SYSTEM BASED ON DOUBLY-FED INDUCTION GENERATOR 基于双馈感应发电机的三相到单相发电系统

– This paper presents a three-phase to single-phase six-leg converter for a wind energy conversion system based on Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG). The converter is composed of six legs and is divided in three parts: the grid-side converter (GSC), which is responsible for power factor and DC-link voltage controls, the stator-side converter (SSC), which guarantees the control of the stator voltage, and the rotor-side converter (RSC), which is responsible for vector control of the generator. One of the converter’s legs is shared by grid-side and stator-side converters. The main advantages of the proposed configuration compared to other topologies presented in the literature are providing balanced three-phase voltages to the DFIG, simple control system and not having any limitation with respect to synchronization between grid and stator voltages and DC-link voltage. The system model, pulse-width modulation (PWM) and control strategies are discussed and simulation and experimental results are presented in order to prove the feasibility of the system.

BIDIRECTIONAL DOUBLE-CONVERSION UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY FOR INTEGRATION OF PHOTOVOLTAIC PANELS AND MPPT 光伏板与MPPT集成的双向双转换不间断电源

Resumo – Este trabalho propõe uma topologia de UPS de dupla conversão para a integração com painéis fotovoltaicos que permite o rastreamento do ponto de máxima potência sem a adição do usual conversor CC-CC para interface entre painéis e barramento CC. Os painéis são conectados diretamente ao barramento CC, e o MPPT é realizado pelo circuito de entrada. Através deste sistema, é possível alimentar cargas com uma tensão de saída regulada, independentemente dos distúrbios da tensão da rede pública, enquanto gerando energia fotovoltaica. Em caso de energia excedente, pode-se injetar corrente na rede, vez que o circuito de entrada possui característica bidirecional. O desempenho do sistema é validado através de resultados Hardware-in-the-Loop , os quais demonstram a funcionalidade da topologia proposta. Abstract – This work proposes a double-conversion UPS topology for the integration with photovoltaic panels that allows the maximum power point tracking without the addition of the usual DC-DC converter for interface between panels and DC-link. The panel arrangement is connected directly to the DC-link, and the MPPT is performed by the input circuit. Through this system it is possible to feed loads with a regulated output voltage regardless of mains voltage disturbances while generating PV energy. In case of power excess, current can be injected into the mains since the input circuit has a bidirectional characteristic. The system performance is validated through Hardware-in-the-Loop results, which demonstrate the functionality of the proposed topology.

Design and Development of a Grid-tied Transformerless Single-stage Multistring Photovoltaic CSI Inverter 无变压器并网单级多串光伏CSI逆变器的设计与研制

– This paper brings the design and development of a transformerless single-stage multistring photovoltaic current-source inverter (CSI), aiming exclusively the grid-tied operation. Due to the behavior as CSI, within the contributions of the present work there is the expansion of the literature of this type of topology through the implementation of control techniques and power operation usual in other topological structures. In addition, the proposed system was simulated in PSIM® and the computational and experimental results obtained showed a satisfactory behavior of the structure in favor of the injection of current in the grid with low harmonic distortion and high power factor, meeting national and international standards.

MODELING AND DESIGN OF A FAST-DYNAMIC RESPONSE PHASE-LOCKED LOOP BASED ON MOVING AVERAGE FILTER 基于移动平均滤波器的快速动态响应锁相环的建模与设计

Phase Locked Loops (PLLs) with in-loop Moving Average Filter (MAF) and a Proportional Integral (PI) controller are effective methods to achieve synchronization in grid-connected converters, since they have simple implementation, low computational burden and excellent filtering capability. However, they are known to be slow. The reasons are the MAF time delay and the PI controller tuning method, which makes the design of a fast control loop challenging. This paper demonstrates that the second-order Padé approximation is enough to achieve an accurate model for the MAF, and presents a controller design technique that results in the minimum settling times achievable for a MAF-PLL with a PI controller. Simulation and experimental results validate the proposed approach. 

OVERVOLTAGE PROTECTION FOR HIGH FREQUENCY HIGH VOLTAGE POWER TRANSFORMERS 高频高压电力变压器过电压保护

– Transformers with high-voltage operation may have undesired behavior due to the effects of their parasitic elements. In power electronics applications, if the primary voltage has harmonics, transformer resonances may be excited, causing high primary currents and secondary voltage stress, compromising the device isolation. This behavior is quite dangerous if the transformer operates without load, what means, without damping, because in this situation, the secondary voltage peak can reach more than two times the expected (rated) value. To protect the high frequency high voltage transformer against this dangerous operation, the overvoltage problem in open load condition is carefully explored and explained in this paper, with the proposition of different protection strategies to mitigate its effect, depending on the transformer parasitic elements values. The different strategies are analytically explained and validated by experimental results, showing their criteria design and effectiveness for the protection of high frequency high voltage transformers through the analysis of a 1 kVA, 311V, 20 kHz, 42/512 ferrite core transformer, showing its dynamics working alone and with each protection strategy.

Proposal, Analysis and Experimental Verification of Nonisolated DC-DC Converters Conceived from an Active Switched-Capacitor Commutation Cell 基于有源开关电容整流单元的非隔离DC-DC变换器的设计、分析和实验验证

This paper introduces a new family of nonisolated dc-dc converters that are generated by the integration of the active switched-capacitor (ASCC) and the conventional commutation cell (CCC). Based on the commutation cell concept, the new conceived hybrid active commutation cell (HACC) provides three different types of hybrid converters: buck, boost and buck-boost. All three converters are investigated in this study through the following approaches: topological stages, static gain analysis considering the switched capacitor features, generalization of the HACC and gain for M cells and steady-state analysis. The buck version presents a high conversion rate, which demonstrates that it has potential for step-down applications. To verify the proposed topologies, a prototype was built with the following specifications: 600 V input voltage, 150 V output voltage, 70 kHz switching frequency and 1 kW rated power. Efficiency close to 95% was obtained at 1 kW for the buck topology, which demonstrates that the proposed HACC can provide gain and high efficiency at the same time.

High Voltage Gain Isolated DC-DC Converter for Integration in Photovoltaic Modules 用于光伏组件集成的高电压增益隔离DC-DC变换器

Significant cost reduction of photovoltaic system components has changed the perspective of future application of these systems. Many installation sites currently discarded due to non-optimal orientations and partial shading conditions may become economically viable. In this approach all MICs operate independently of each other providing modularity and simplicity of installation and operation. In this work is proposed using a MIC topology based on a soft-switching high-gain isolated half-bridge dc-dc boost converter for this application. This converter is analyzed in detail and is proposed a new equation to determine the static gain of this topology considering the loss of cyclic ratio caused by the presence of the auxiliary switching inductance, a methodology for designing the auxiliary inductance aiming at guaranteeing the ZVS of all switches over a wide operating range, as well as the introduction of a cascaded control scheme for parallel operation of the MIC converters. – The use of series connected IGBTs is still a current subject in literature, despite such discussion having started in the 1990s. Though countless academic studies, there are currently no available commercial products on the market for medium voltage inverters (up to 4.16kV) and lower power (up to 1MW) using this technology. This is related to the difficulty of ensuring the dynamic and static voltage sharing between IGBTs, giving rise to relatively expensive complex firing circuits, when compared to the components they intend to control. Therefore, this article aims to present a simple and low-cost alternative, still effective for driving low voltage series-connected IGBTs, specifically for the encapsulation TO-247 type. Experimental results are presented showing the behavior of the solution under several operating conditions.

This work presents the development of an electronic wind emulator (EWEm), which involves the dynamic models of the wind turbine, the permanent magnet synchronous generator and the mechanical coupling turbine-generator. These models are used to generate the EWEm voltage references, which are synthesized by a three-phase three-wire voltage source inverter, so that a real wind turbine can be emulated at different wind speeds. As advantages, the proposed EWEm presents low cost of implementation and versatility in the emulation of different models of Artigo submetido em 25/04/2019. Primeira revisão em 13/06/2019. Both mathematical models of the inverter and the input rectifier are represented in the synchronous reference frame dq. In order to validate the study, as well as to evaluate the static and dynamic performances of the proposed EWEm, experimental results are presented considering the system subjected to different types of load and wind profiles.

Single-Stage AC-DC Cascaded Converter for Applications in Solid State Transformers 用于固态变压器的单级交-直流级联变换器

– This paper proposes the study and development of a single-stage multilevel AC-DC converter for application in Solid-State Transformers (SST). The proposed topology is based on the dual active bridge (DAB) converter associated with the three-state switching cell (3SSC). The converter’s structure is able to be scalled-up, by basic modules, and then be applied at high voltages, as well as operate as rectifier or inverter. In order to validate the entire study, a prototype was assembled with two 1 kW modules, with 110 V AC input voltage, 400 V primary and secondary bus voltage, and 20 kHz switching frequency. The experimental results clearly and consistently show the correct operation of the converter. The bi-directionality was demonstrated by the experimentals tests. The topology is capable of operating with high power factor and low THD, as well.
