Agricultural life from time to time in Turkey has experienced very serious transformation with administrative developments. Products such as poppy, sugar beet and tobacco are a few examples of products that have heavily occupied the public opinion with the political developments from time to time. Hemp is an agricultural product that is not only in Turkey but all over the world is on the agenda and closely related to public order. Hemp ( Cannabis sativa L.), also known by the names of cannabis and hemp among the people, was in fact one of the main fiber plants that were widely used in weaving in the past. In fact, archaeological findings suggest that the oldest weaving samples were obtained from hemp fibers. On contrast to this, it is a plant that is used in the production of drugs that have harmful effects on human life and public order in the process. Although there is also a deeply rooted agricultural history, sowing of it was banned in Turkey within the framework of international relations in 1949. This ban has had remarkable consequences in agricultural as well as industrial terms. In the following process, the positive aspects of hemp that emerged with good intentions in economic life were further understood but when it comes to 2016, hemp cultivation was permitted in some provinces with the condition of being controlled. In this study, the development of hemp in Turkish agricultural life from past to present and the point reached today are discussed in the focus of Agricultural Geography. In this context, the first practices in Sinop and Amasya, one of the 19 provinces where hemp cultivation is permitted, were examined on-site and interviews were made with the producers about the developments that may arise for the decision taken.

Concepts of culture, religion and language in common are among those parameters of fundamental significance for economic, social and political relationships. Although Central Asia and Turkey have these things in common, bilateral relations are not as much as desired. Among the underlying reasons are, particularly, deliberate design of these countries by Russia, failure of these nations to establish their own political identities after their independence and Turkey’s own issues and its restricted economic structure. Considered as a whole, the region has a great economic potential with its vast mineral deposit reserves, especially oil and natural gas. Common use of this economic potential should be reconsidered in terms of both region in general and countries in particular. Increase of joint academic publication and site studies quantitatively and qualitatively would make it easy to establish partnerships. From this point of view, publications made in the framework of graduate studies in Turkey should be examined and this field should be supported with incentives.

Canal İstanbul is a waterway project designed as an alternative to the Bosphorus, reaching from the Küçükçekmece Lake to the Black Sea, including Sazlıdere to the north. The boundaries of the study area were drawn with a 3 km buffer zone that was passed to the east and west of this line, and it was named as the “Canal İstanbul environment”. The area consists mainly of Tertiary units and has a flat topography surface. In this respect, it is essential that the site is examined in detail and that the relief characteristics of the site are expressed together with the quantitative results. In this context, absolute relief, slope, relative area, basin relief, relative elevation, hypsometric curve, hypsometric integral, degree of erosion and fragmentation intensity, valley density analysis were used to reveal the general character of the relief, and then the field profiles were provided with a complete view of the field. Accordingly, approximately half of the area with a maximum elevation of 187 m is below 70 m. When the slope values are evaluated, it is seen that half of the surrounding is below the slope value of 15%. The hypsometric curve showing the stage of the geomorphological evolution of the study area shows a slightly concave structure with relatively mature topography conditions. The hypsometric integral, which is the quantitative expression of this curve, was found to be 0.34, thus confirming the maturity of the field. On the other hand, 1x1 km grid based topographic amplitude varies 7–155 m. So, erosion is more effective in the valleys. The valley density obtained by the ratio of total valley length to total area was determined as 2.98 km/km2. In addition, superimposed, projected and composite profiles with five transverse one longitudinal profiles taken from the field show that the high effect of Sazlıdere on general geomorphologic view.

The educational reform, which is being implemented step-by-step in Bulgaria during the last three school years, is a projection of the vision of the necessity to change at all levels: normative (state educational standards, curricula and school programs, training kits), institutional and didactic-methodical. In particular, a procedural - regulatory framework determines the school geographic education in Bulgaria. The starting point of the study is the situational analysis of the regulated learning of knowledge and the formation of skills and competences in geography and economics’s training. Expected empirical results link sustained traditional models with innovative didactic solutions to school geography training. Essentially, reforming processes determine new educational practices as they create objective conditions for adapted to the modernity geographical training. The situational analysis of the normative documentation regulates the assimilation of knowledges, skills and competences in geography and economics training that is constructed and conformed to the European reference framework of education. Education in the country is a national priority and as such is realized in accordance with the principles of right and access to quality school education, the interest and motivation of the students towards their age and social changes in life but also with the possibility to apply the acquired competencies in practice. The new realities require the preservation and development of the Bulgarian educational tradition, the validation of innovation and efficiency in pedagogical practices and the organization of the educational process on the basis of scientific substantiation and prognosis of the results of the innovations.
