This paper is focused on comparing selected SPICE models of TiO2 memristors with respect to time- and memory requirements in the simulation of very large artificial neural networks, which are most likely the first real-world applications of memristors as analog memories. All models were implemented as HSPICE macros and simulated in a Multilayer Perceptron artificial neural network with variable configuration. The results show that after applying modifications to the models in order to prevent numerical overflows it is possible to simulate networks with tens of thousands of memristors.

Recently, there is a high interest for appropriate systems and methods to localize the position of people and their devices in indoor environments (e.g. home, office, hospital). From technical and economical points of view, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is one of the promising technologies in this field. This paper deals with the study of performances of this technology for these purposes. For the indoor localization, a received signal strength indication (RSSI) method is used. It was tested in ideal (anechoic chamber) and real (in the office) environment conditions. For the measurement campaign and evaluation of the obtained results a generic framework is proposed. Experimental results (simulation vs. measurement) show similar behaviour of the BLE technology in ideal (no signal reflection) and real (multipath propagation) transmission environments.

This article focuses on the creation of a four-channel WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) system using SOA (Semiconductor Optical Amplifier) at the speed of 10 Gbps and the spacing of 1nm. In creating an optical network it is necessary to utilise software tools simulating a real optical network under the given conditions. Evaluation of the optical line quality for the respective channel is performed on the basis of BER (Bit Error Rate). The result of the article is a WDM system in a simulated environment evaluating BER at particular stream in SOA. The wavelengths compared were of 1549 nm and 1550 nm at pump current in the SOA: 0.05 A, 0.1 A and 0.2 A.

The composite vector stochastic processes model is usable in many signal processing areas. Advantages of the model utilization, in task of electric motors acoustic signals parametric estimations, are shown in this paper. Models' results are compared with the traditional statistical methods for the signal analysis, in the two samples classes recognition task. The expressions for correlation function, autoregressive models' parameters calculation, and parametric power spectral density estimation in autoregressive composite vector stochastic processes representation, are shown in the paper. The proposed method for signals analysis, presented in this paper, enables to obtain information, which is difficult to gain by using traditional methods of statistical analysis.

This paper is focused on proposal of image steganographic method that is able to embedding of encoded secret message using Quick Response Code (QR) code into image data. Discrete Wavelet Transformation (DWT) domain is used for the embedding of QR code, while embedding process is additionally protected by Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) cipher algorithm. In addition, typical characteristics of QR code was broken using the encryption, therefore it makes the method more secure. The aim of this paper is design of image steganographic method with high secure level and high non-perceptibility level. The relation between security and capacity of the method was improved by special compression of QR code before the embedding process. Efficiency of the proposed method was measured by Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) and achieved results were compared with other steganographic tools.

This paper describes a simple method for the relative permittivity estimation of the wall by an UWB (ultra wideband) impulse radar system. It is non-invasive reflected free space method for data gathering just from the single side of the wall. There is just one condition also by which we can achieve the best possible accuracy. It is a short time window of monitored signal, while there is an undesired reflection from the other side of the wall. Frequency dependence of the relative permittivity is then obtained from the reflection coefficient of the transmitted TEM (transverse electromagnetic) wave. The paper describes two demonstrative measurements and verification of the measured data by the transmission method.

This paper proposed about comparison of the animal recognition processed on the real world objects and the modeled 3D objects. The object classification consists of the three main steps - feature extraction, training classifier and image evaluation. Feature description is based on locale visual descriptors like SIFT or SURF. Support Vector Machine (SVM) in combination with the bags of visual keypoints (BOW) is used to classify descriptors. The 3D models were created using photogrammetry and 3D modeling for ideal 3D models of mammals. This method of 3D model creation is described in details.

The interest for ultra-low power integrated circuits in the recent past has guided the research community to establish the proposal of several adiabatic logic circuits in which the energy stored can be efficiently recycled. Many of these architectures suffer from problems like glitch & huge number of transistors as compared to conventional CMOS, which stop them to be used in practical scenario. As a consequence, we tried to come up with a new circuit that could address the above said limitations. In this work, we have proposed a new adiabatic logic where glitches are reduced drastically such that Logic 0 & Logic 1 level looks almost like what we generally have in conventional CMOS circuit output. The new logic is applied to design NOT, NAND & NOR gate as these are the fundamental building blocks of any digital system. The simulation of the circuits is done in 180 nm Technology and a significant savings in power and energy has been achieved after comparing with the conventional CMOS and a few previous well known adiabatic logics.

The paper deals with comparing the reliability and continuity of supply to traction power systems and compare it with the level of deliveries to all other customers in the distribution area of ČEZ Distribuce. It examines the causes of the disruption of clarity and also shows to the map. The present electric rail transport is very dependent on the continual electrical energy supply both for transport infrastructure and also for electric vehicles and units. In the case of traction energy supply faults the transport of electric drive vehicles will be stopped and the diesel rail vehicles have to be used for rail transport. This situation is incomparable with road transport due to many aspects. These traction power supply systems are highly dependent on the properties of distribution systems. For this reason, the stricter conditions in comparison with industrial systems are required. The characteristic consumptions and their variabilities during tens of seconds at traction systems, which is given by transport technology and management, are represented completely different sources of interference for other devices and systems.
