Radio frequency system design is based on the simulation accuracy and require precise prototype. Simulation software has been widely used in a view to enhance experimental investigation. This powerful software assists users by providing them with highly accurate and reliable results. Indeed, a precise modeling is necessary to determine the adequate correction to increase the accuracy results. The aim of this paper is to treat in detail the famous electromagnetic solvers such as High Frequency Structural Simulator, Computer Simulation Technology (transient and frequency analysis) and Advanced Design System (momentum and schematic) software. The simulated results of the S-parameters for the considered power coupler from three different simulators (HFSS, ADS, CST) are discussed and are compared according to their magnitudes and phase factors; A comparative study on the performance of these simulators performances is presented. The obtained results are discussed showing that the good choice of the simulator type improves the accuracy of the design process.

This work treat the optimization of a three-phase high voltage power supply for microwaves generators with one magnetron by phase under MATLAB SIMULINK code. The design of this power supply is composed of three π quadruple models equivalents of three-phase high voltage transformer with magnetic shunt, each one powering o cell doublers composed of capacitor and a diode and one magnetron at the output of each cell. Each π equivalent model of the transformer is composed of three inductive elements; each element is characterized by a non linear relation between flux and current. This model was tested with the help of MATLAB SIMULINK code. Following that, we will apply an optimization strategy that aims to reduce the volume of the transformer while respecting the conditions recommended by the manufacturer of magnetron: Ipeak<;1.2 A, Imean≈ 300 mA. This leads to reduce the transformer cost, and, therefore, that of all the installation and make it more economical.

Delay Tolerant Network is a network where there is either no end to end connection between the source and the destination or the connections are infrequent and very short in terms of delay. To ensure the messages delivery in such network, a new mechanism called store-carry and forward has been implemented, which enables DTN nodes to store received messages in their buffer and wait for an opportunity to deliver them to their final destination or to another hop in order to carry them closer to their destinations. The intermittent connections make traditional routing protocols that are based on the principle of end-to-end unadaptable in this type of environment. Different routing protocols have been proposed for the DTN environment as routings; Epidemic, Spray and Wait, ProPHET, etc. In this paper, we propose a routing strategy called BeeAntDTN adaptable to DTN networks to increase the messages delivery ratio with a minimal overhead. BeeAntDTN is inspired by the foraging behavior of insects; collecting information on the food source by the bees colony and the search for the shortest path from a food source to the nest in Ants colony. THE ONE simulator is used to check the performance of the BeeAntDTN protocol compared to the standard protocols, namely Epidemic, Spray and Wait, ProPHET. Simulation results show that the proposed approach BeeAntDTN improves the messages delivery ratio and generates a very low overhead compared to other routing protocols.

An asymmetric transmission device based on sub-wavelength stacked hole arrays (SHA) backed with a dielectric grating is presented. The combination of diffraction modes with the dispersion characteristics of the SHA leads to very interesting electromagnetic properties such as unidirectionality, tunability and sign-switching of the outgoing wave deflection angle with just varying the angle of incidence of the impinging wave and/or changing the frequency of operation. A brief theoretical discussion, numerical results and experimental results in the V band of the millimetre-waves are provided for demonstration of the performance.

In this work, an alternative formulation of the Shift Operator Finite-Difference Time-Domain method is proposed for the analysis of general dispersive media; in this formulation, the expression of the time derivative depends on the order of the dispersive material. This method is applied then to magnetized ferrite and simple efficient equations were obtained. The dispersion characteristic of a fineline with a composite ferrite-dielectric substrate is calculated to validate the proposed formulation.

This paper presents a chain of frequency multiplier by 4 based on 0.15 μm pHEMT from UMS foundry. This frequency multiplier will be used to generate carrier frequencies in the range of [56-64 GHz] in order to perform the RF signal demodulation of wireless communication link in the mm-wave band. The multiplier consists of a quadrupler stage followed by a two-pole highpass filter and a buffer amplifier. The multiplier chain can deliver 2.78 dBm of output power with 4 dBm input power. The signal at the fundamental frequency is rejected with a rate greater than 40 dB compared to the desired signal.

Here we perform numerical and experimental investigation of plano-concave all-metallic ε-near-zero (ENZ) lens with operational frequency f = 144 GHz. The ENZ lens is achieved by stacking an array of narrow hollow rectangular waveguides working near cut-off frequency. Focusing and radiation properties are numerically analyzed and measured. The enhancement of 5.61 dB and directivity of 17.6 dBi are shown. Good agreement between experimental and numerical results is demonstrated.

In this paper, a planar near field magnetoinductive lens operating in the microwave range is presented. The proposed structure consists of two parallel planar arrays of metallic resonators, which are, once scaled in term of size as well as the array periodicity, the frequency of operation can be tuned over a wide frequency range. Thus the proposed design is potentially useful for many applications.

A new approach to the design of a very broadband magic-T network focused on a single-layer realization has been proposed. In order to obtain wide bandwidth, a recently developed technique of bandwidth enhancement of tandem connected loosely coupled directional couplers has been employed. It has been shown that utilizing single-section coupled-line couplers one can realize a planar tandem coupler featuring frequency characteristics similar to these of a two-section coupled-line couplers. The proposed approach has been verified by the design and measurement of a 3-dB tandem coupler operating within 0.6-2.0 GHz frequency range with amplitude imbalance of ±0.45 dB, and the theoretical analysis of differential phase shaping to obtain magic-T properties.

Radio Frequency Identification RFID is increasingly used in various applications because of their high quality as well as their low costs, however there are some limitations that can hinder the proper functioning of this technology, for example, if several tags are located in the interrogation zone of the same reader, they might collide with each other during the process of identification and thus their time slots will be canceled, thereby causing a waste in slots. In this sense several algorithms have been proposed to solve the problem of collision. In this paper we propose an improved tree-based algorithm using Manchester coding. This improvement consists in building the query for searching the tags in a different way. Simulated results show that the proposed algorithm reduces the number of iterations required to identify a set of tags compared to other existing algorithms.
