Comparison of PID and EPID Controllers in Self Balancing Robot 自平衡机器人PID与EPID控制器的比较

Two wheeled Self balancing robots have become more popular in recent times and used in many applications, commonly used in transportation as these balancing robots are faster and apparently stable. Balancing is achieved by using controllers tuned for the system. Inverted pendulum principle is used in these robots. This paper proposes the use of two control methods, namely Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) and Extended PID (EPID), for maintaining the balance of two-wheeled and self-balancing robots, even when slightly tilted, thus preventing them from falling. PID control theory generally depends up on transfer functions, this paper extends the theory using EPID. EPID provides a new perspective on the working principle of PID control and its relationship with other control theories, such as tracking control and disturbance observer. This approach is illustrated using the fundamental principle of inverted pendulum technology. The key advantage of these robots over other mobile robots is their increased stability due to zero turning radius, which allows for smoother rotations during changes in direction.

Crime Forecasting using Interpretable Regression Techniques 使用可解释回归技术预测犯罪

Over the past years there has been an increase in crimes like theft and burglary, however, this is not evenly distributed because most criminals repeatedly commit crime in the same area until they are arrested. The Pareto principle or the principle of factor sparsity, helps to explain why so many crimes happen in specific places. Fortunately, the field of electronics and informatics has seen a significant advancement in recent times, particularly in the area of artificial intelligence (AI) and its applications. One such application is the use of AI in crime forecasting and analysis, which has the potential to facilitate smart living and smart city initiatives, as well as economic development. This paper presents a study on the use of regression techniques and predictive models, Linear regression, LASSO regression and ridge regression for crime prediction and magnitude estimation, with an average predictive accuracy of 94.0%. The most important features contributing to crime prediction were identified and analyzed using heatmaps thus providing insights for proactive action by crime prevention authorities. Additionally, Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanations (LIME) and SHapley Additive explanations (SHAP) were provided to enhance the interpretability and accountability of the developed models. The results of this study have very positive potential implications for smart living and smart city initiatives for developing economies.

High Gain Luo Converter for PV based Electric Vehicle Charging Station 基于光伏的电动汽车充电站高增益变换器

Due to various causes, including continual price reductions in PV modules, significant development in electric vehicles (EVs), and worries about greenhouse gas emissions, the incorporation of solar photovoltaic (PV) and the EV charging system is highly demanding. As these types of systems become more common in today's era, the improvement of updated technology, like highly efficacious batteries or solar panels, necessitates additional research. Henceforth the PV system is incorporated with Luo converter in this research which develops output voltage gain of the PV system. Maximum power point is monitored by a converter using a Proportional Integral (PI) controller and Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), which also improves overall device performance. A three phase Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) is adopted for inverting an input DC voltage along with a three phase induction motor and resulting harmonics are minimized by LC filter. Simulation is performed by Matlab and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) obtained is a minimal value of 2.56 %.

Kidney Cancer Detection using Deep Learning Models 使用深度学习模型检测肾癌

This study presents two types of Kidney cancer detection one is with the help of images and another one is with the help of blood test samples value. Kidney disease is condition caused either by renal disease of the kidneys. In the present study, Kidney cancer is one of the critical diseases for patient's diagnosis and classification. Early detection and good treatment can avoid or decrease the growth of cancer disease into the final stage where dialysis or renal transplantation is the only way of saving the life of the patient. And another way is with machine learning models with this model the disease at an early stage can be detected, is one of the important tasks in today's world. This research proposed kidney images detection through deep learning models like Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), and blood samples dataset values through Artificial Neural Network (ANN) models that can be helpful for the early diagnosis of cancer. The existing studies have mainly used only simple CNN models and have done another classification of kidney images. This research consists of CNN with more convolution layers for classifying images of cancer kidneys and normal kidneys and ANN is used for kidney cancer prediction using dataset values. This research will be helpful for early and accurate diagnosis of kidney cancer to save the lives of many patients. Lastly, there is an application page that contains a code in the backend that predicts whether a person is suffering from a kidney cancer or not.

In all institutions, keeping attendance is essential in order to monitor the student attendance percentage. Each institute takes a distinct stance in this regard. Others continue to manually record attendance for each hour using old-fashioned paper, uploading the data for each hour of a class to a server or utilizing a file-based approach. Some have adopted ways of automatic attendance using some biometric technologies. Unfortunately, employing these strategies requires people to spend hours waiting in line. Thus, the primary objective of this system is to create an automated system that uses artificial intelligence based student attendance monitoring system on an hourly basis using cameras that are already deployed in the classrooms. To mark attendance and save itin a database, AWS services will be used

Electrical devices have advanced and are employed in many different applications nowadays. Personal computers, arc furnaces, and non-linear loads like fluorescent lights emit harmonics alongside utility variable frequency drives (VFD). These are the main gadgets for power quality issues. As is well known, power quality is a significant problem for consumer and distribution systems. This study explores the harmonics induced by non-linear loads. An active power filter, which can enhance power quality and compensate for reactive power has been utilized. In the electrical system at low and medium voltage, Series Active Power Filters (SAPF) are primarily employed to reduce the harmonics, over and in compensation for voltage distortions like sags, flickers, and notches. Total harmonic distortion (THD) can be minimized by SAPF, which injects voltage into the line to mitigate the distortions.

Virtual Mouse Input Control using Hand Gestures 使用手势的虚拟鼠标输入控制

Input control using hand gestures is a growing area of research in the field of human-computer interaction (HCI), In this paper, we present the working of the virtual mouse by using hand recognition and its use of only a simple finger gap with no additional hardware requirements to control the cursor of the system. We had the webcam act as an input device that tracked the hand to perform an action. This paper needs a camera-based vision control system that uses finger gestures to control the system and also uses the color tracking technique. The virtual mouse will allow the user to move or navigate the system cursor using finger and hand gestures, and left clicking, right clicking, and dragging can be done using various finger and hand gestures. It will also help transfer files between two systems over the internet. The system uses a low-resolution in-built web camera that works as a sensor and is able to recognize or track the user's hand with colored caps in 2-D (dimensions). Hand gestures are one of the simplest and most interactive ways to perform communication with the user. The output from the in-built camera or webcam is displayed on the screen, and after that, it will track the reference point of the hand and perform movements of the hand to perform the activities. This paper needs a camera-based vision control system that uses finger gestures to control the system and also uses the color tracking technique. The virtual mouse will allow the user to move or navigate the system cursor using finger and hand gestures, and left clicking, right clicking, and dragging can be done using various finger and hand gestures. It will also help transfer files between two systems over the internet. The system uses a low-resolution in-built web camera that works as a sensor and is able to recognize or track the user's hand with colored caps in 2-D (dimensions). Hand gestures are one of the simplest and most interactive ways to perform communication with the user. The output from the in-built camera or webcam is displayed on the screen, and after that, it will track the reference point of the hand and perform movements of the hand to perform the activities. The method of recognizing and finding a human by their face in an image is called Human Face Detection and Recognition (HFDR). Application of Biometric method in detecting a human's Identity is called as HFD system. HFDR is a verification system designed to determine one's identity. Innovation in science and technology is rapidly achieving the peak level day by day. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are the two such innovative inventions that kicked it up a notch and have turned the world to the next phase. This research is intended to detect and recognize faces using HFDR using ML. The consequences of the simulation experiment clearly show that the HFDR using ML method is best known for its accuracy in HFDR compared to the other algorithms used for Human Face Detection (HFD). The exactness of the proposed HFDR using ML method is illustrated through the experimental outcomes.

Map-Reduce Task Scheduling Optimization Techniques: A Comparative Study Map-Reduce任务调度优化技术的比较研究

Cloud computing is becoming popular because it offers the pay-as-per-use model with business benefits of enhanced scalability, flexibility, mobility and reliability with cost reduction in use of required resources. Multiple map-reduce sub-tasks from different users use the cloud resources simultaneously. Scheduling these multiple tasks to the available resources is quite challenging. Without optimized scheduling, desired quality of service cannot be achieved. With effective scheduling of map-reduce sub-tasks other parameters of interest like cost, energy consumption and resource usage can be optimized as well. It is obvious that task scheduling optimization on cloud attracted a lot of researchers. Many heuristics, meta-heuristic and their hybridizations were used for scheduling the multiple tasks to available and limited resources of cloud. Use of metaheuristic algorithms in map-reduce task scheduling on cloud showed better results than only heuristic algorithms. Researchers were well realized that by combining the useful features of two or more algorithms, best scheduling solutions can be achieved. Different available hybrid algorithms are reviewed in this study. It will classify the available hybrid algorithms on different parameters for business benefits. it provides the future directions for hybridization of meta-heuristic algorithms for map-reduce task scheduling optimization. In this review different existing models for map-reduce task scheduling optimization in terms of make-span have been explored.

An If This Then That (IFTTT) applet was used to illustrate the process followed here. This work connects two separate application services. In this case, these two apps were selected to pilot a new Internet of Things-based infrastructure. There was the “Trigger” service, which was the ubiquitous “Google Assistant,” and the “Action” service, which was the “AdafruitIO” Message Query Telemetry Transport (MQTT) broker. Both the active state of a multi-sensor network and a relay may be monitored remotely using an MQTT broker service, and numerous electrical appliances could be controlled remotely using a Virtual Personal Assistant (VPA). The second goal was to facilitate communication between the two services by integrating and connecting them using an “If This Then That” Applet. The AdafruitIO dashboard allowed the sensor readings and relay status to be monitored remotely from a computer or mobile device.
