In this paper, a novel measurement data management system, based on cloud technology, is proposed. The system aims at maximizing the potential of the information assets of large electronic manufacturing companies through the collection, management and analysis of the so called Big Data generated by means of test processes, performed during the life-cycle of the products.

Dedicated apps for smartphone or tablet can enrich the experience of visitors in cultural heritage environment. Visitors could automatically receive multimedia information such as audio, hypertext photos and video supported by accurate indoor localization in the visited places. In this paper we propose an effective architecture for a low cost system providing indoor localization information. The system consists of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags deployed in the area to support indoor localization, the visitor equipment (e.g. the smartphone) provided by the developed app, a small portable RFID reader and a remote management centre able to retrieve the contextual information. A testbed has been setup to provide the effectiveness of the proposed system. Results show that the system requirements are respected enabling the visitor to enhance his/her experience.

The purpose of this paper is to describe the research activities and recognize the realization of a European virtual registry of underground infrastructure on cloud. In order to create a harmonized virtual registry of infrastructures at European level, the research intends to develop procedures for the preparation of maps and regulatory provisions as well as the main cloud registry. The infrastructure will be realized and deployed through a standard system for all users and for all European countries, in order to store, manage data in a unique place and create a registry on cloud of networks with related services. The registry will also be realized in several pilot areas, characterized by a high density of heterogeneous infrastructures and by factors that may be representative and compared to different types of areas characterized by a large number of utilities registered (electricity, gas and telecommunications). The detailed knowledge of existing underground infrastructures will allow a rapid economic of innovative organizations and the development of new ultra-broadband services for effective smart cities in EU.

This study examines whether a community-based physical activity intervention influenced movement in stages of change in physical activity in an adult population, whether any such effect was mediated by psychosocial influences, and whether any such mediations were moderated by socio-demographic or anthropometric factors. The three year long pseudoexperimental intervention (intervention; n= 616, mean age= 49.4 ± 9.9 years, control; n= 565, mean age= 49.1 ± 9.0 years) included physical activity, communication, environmental and participatory components. Stages of change in physical activity and potential psychosocial mediators were assessed by questionnaires. Regression analyses revealed a significant favourable intervention effect on stages of change, partially mediated by enhanced support from family, perceived control, and physical activity identity. No moderation effects by gender, age, ethnicity, education or BMI were observed. Support from family, perceived control, and identity might be important intervention target points for inducing forward movement in the stages of change in physical activity, regardless of socio-demographic and anthropometric background factors.
