A new type of lock detector for phase locked loops 一种新型锁相环锁相检测器

A new type of phase locked loop (PLL) lock detector is described. The new detector is substantially more robust in its ability to distinguish between phase lock and false lock than the classical phase quadrature lock detector. The theory is applied to a second-order loop with imperfect integrator, and it is shown that the classical phase quadrature lock detector is actually a first-order approximation of the new lock detector. The abilities of the new lock detector and the simple phase quadrature lock detector to differentiate between phase lock and false lock are compared and results are given.<>

A computer analysis of a load system driven by two induction motors connected in parallel both electrically and mechanically is presented. The generalized equations in the d-q coordinate system of two three-phase induction motors have been produced from those of a single three-phase induction motor. The dynamic analysis of the system was done for the cases in which both equal and unequal motors have been used. Transient and steady-state responses were observed by solving system model equations. The solutions were obtained using the Runge-Kutta method, and the results were plotted for conclusions.<>

Time domain solutions for faulted power systems using detailed synchronous machine models 故障电力系统的时域解决方案使用详细的同步电机模型

An algorithm for analyzing a synchronous machine under faulted conditions is presented. The results obtained using the algorithm are contrasted with results obtained using symmetrical component analysis. The results show that the solutions obtained using two different approaches may differ considerably depending on both the type of fault and the prefault loading of the machine. If the results obtained using the sixth-order state model are taken to be accurate, then the symmetrical component approach is in error 'on the high side' in every case, which is, of course, desirable. Discrepancies do, however, mandate further consideration.<>

Multi-dimensional uniformity of portable pseudo-random number generators 便携式伪随机数发生器的多维均匀性

Multipliers used with portable multiplicative pseudorandom number generators for 16-b computers are considered. Certain multipliers that are able to produce uniform random variables with good one-dimensional statistical properties have already been found. The tests implemented were the chi-square goodness-of-fit test and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and modified Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests. These tests have been adapted for the multidimensional case in order for statistical tests to be performed on two- and three-dimensional uniform random vectors generated by these same multipliers. These tests show statistical independence between samples, as well as uniformity.<>

Deterministic identification of linear multivariable systems 线性多变量系统的确定性辨识

A simple computational algorithm for determining a state-space model of a MIMO (multiinput, multioutput) discrete system from input-output data is presented. The obtained state-space model is in a pseudoobservable canonical form. Unlike all other deterministic identification procedures, the approach suggested does not require structural identification, i.e., determination of a unique set of observability indices. Instead, a MIMO system can be represented in pseudoobservable canonical form on the basis of a set of admissible pseudoobservability indices.<>

Real-time image processing has been achieved by using an optical scanning system in conjunction with electronic hardware. A report of experimental results on edge extraction and image thresholding for transmissive objects is presented. Advantages and limitations of the techniques are identified. The results indicate that real-time edge extraction and image thresholding can be satisfactorily achieved.<>

The authors present details of the design considerations for two candidate precision pointing and tracking control subsystems proposed for use in an optical intersatellite communication system. In addition, disturbance effects are identified, and appropriate models for the disturbances are developed. Simulations of the control system are performed. Preliminary simulation results indicate superior disturbance rejection of a complementary filter-based precision pointing and tracking subsystem when compared with a rate-integrating-gyro- (G-) based system. However, both systems fail to meet the 0.5- mu murad (r.m.s.) pointing constraint imposed by optical intersatellite communication links.<>

The system design of an adaptive vector quantizer (AVQ) for waveform coding is presented. The goal of this work is the development of a 16-kb/s AVQ coder prototype system which can be used as an alternative to 32-kb/s adaptive delta pulse code modulation (ADPCM). The major components of the board are an application-specific integrated-circuit (ASIC) AVQ chip, a 1 M*8 RAM, a 64-kb/s PCM codec, a 16-kb/s universal synchronous/asynchronous receiver/transmitter (USART), and clock circuitry. The system-level CAD tools are presented for an Apollo/Mentor graphics platform. The integration of ASIC chip design with system hardware/software description is discussed. Both chip- and board-level simulation, routing, library functionality, and fabrication turnaround are presented.<>

Finite-element methods (FEMs) and extraction from experimental data are the most widely used methods for developing models of flexible structures for the analysis, design, and simulation of control systems. However, these methods produce models with modes that do not contribute significantly to the fidelity of the model. Eliminating these modes is the major focus of this work. Particular attention is paid to MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) systems. Control system model development, using finite-element methods and experimental data, is briefly discussed. The problems associated with models, including unnecessary and/or residual modes, are delineated. SISO (single-input, single-output) and MIMO techniques for reducing the order of models are presented, and example modal reduction is illustrated using modal data from the proposed NASA Shuttle-C.<>

Generalized step sifting theorems (GSSTs) that can be used to sift unfolded and folded step functions through the summation sign are presented. The theorems are shown to result in an unsegmented answer that contains step function multipliers that turn the terms on or off at the proper times. The simplified step sifting theorem for unfolded functions (SSST-UF), together with the step sifting theorem for convolution (SST-C) and the identity delta /sub 1/(-n)=1- delta /sub 1/(n-1), can be used to solve all piecewise convolution problems easily without the need for sketches.
