Two-dimensional Benes network 二维贝尼斯网络

The Benes network is extended in two dimensions. The control algorithm for the 2-D network is described, and the complexities of the 1-D and 2-D architectures are compared. It is shown that the 2-D Benes network has some advantages over the 1-D Benes network. The number of stages in the 2-D network is smaller than the corresponding number in the 1-D network. Also, the 2-D network requires fewer switching modules than the 1-D network.<>

Electric field simulation in a non-uniform field dielectric system 非均匀场介质系统的电场模拟

The charge simulation method (CSM) is used to compute potential and electric field distribution in a 'hyperboloid-plane' electrode system. Electric field enhancement along the axis of the hyperboloid and within the dielectric is calculated at various interelectrode spacings and with various tip radii. Results are consistent with geometrical configurations and within +or-1% accuracy.<>

Modeling and identification of human musculoskeletal walking system 人体肌肉骨骼行走系统建模与辨识

Several methods are tested to identify the human musculoskeletal system both as a linear and nonlinear system. For the linear system approach, a MIMO (multiinput, multioutput) ARX (autoregressive with exogeneous inputs) model is first tested to get a rough estimation of the system structure and parameters. A general linear input-output MIMO model is then developed, and parameters are estimated by means of the prediction error identification method. Since the complex human musculoskeletal system is almost certainly a nonlinear system, nonlinear system identification is applied and polynomials are used to approximate the nonlinear system functions. For such a MIMO nonlinear system, the parameters to be estimated will number in the thousands or even millions, depending on the polynomial degrees used and the maximum orders of delays. To overcome such numerical difficulties, a forward-regression orthogonal method is used to select only the most significant terms and estimate the corresponding parameters.<>

Bearing estimation using Hopfield neural network 基于Hopfield神经网络的方位估计

A neural network algorithm for bearing estimation is introduced. It utilizes a basic and proven property of Hopfield neural networks, i.e. the guaranteed convergence to a local minimum of the Lyapunov energy function. Unlike the previous methods, the new method estimates the in-phase and quadratic components separately and in a parallel manner and combines them to estimate the bearings of plane waves to an array. The connection parameters of the neural networks are calculated for both components with a significant reduction in computation in comparison with the previous methods. Furthermore, the new method is able to estimate the actual magnitude of each bearing component, rather than just its presence. This is accomplished by using the 1984 Hopfield model rather than the 1982 model, as opposed to the previous methods.<>

An angle independent pattern recognition algorithm for ultrasound image blood flow estimation 一种不依赖角度的超声图像血流估计模式识别算法

The authors present a new algorithm for determining the blood flow in arteries based upon consecutive speckle pattern images from an ultrasound array device. The algorithm is composed of two parts: (i) an object recognition phase in which the speckle patterns of platelets, red blood cells, and white blood cells are identified as contiguous objects: and (ii) a tracking phase in which the maximum likelihood direction is chosen as the best candidate for the velocity vector. The algorithm is able to detect 2-D motion from B-mode images taken at 2 MHz. When 3-D array techniques become available, the algorithm can be easily adapted to detecting 3-D motion. The advantages of this algorithm over existing ones are discussed, with emphasis on accuracy, robustness to background noise, and low computational needs. Both simulated and real data tests and results are presented. Using real data, the algorithm was able to measure the blood flow velocity to 1-pixel/frame accuracy.<>

Transmission line behavior of the hardness surveillance illuminator 硬度监测照明器传输线性能

A certain rhombic illuminator used to test the hardness of aircraft systems is studied with regard to its low-frequency behavior. The upper frequency limit on the validity of the two-wire transmission line model for the rhombic illuminator is determined by using a simple numerical model. The magnitudes of the transverse field components determined by using the numerical model are found to differ significantly from those of the two-wire line model at frequencies as low as 2 MHz.<>

The problem of estimating the power spectral density of stationary time series when the measurements are not contiguous is discussed. Two autoregressive (AR) modeling methods are proposed to handle are spectral estimation of the segmented time signals and show the statistical efficiency in numerical examples. The performance of the proposed AR method is illustrated by simulation examples. The examples indicate that the method performs satisfactorily.<>

Effective strategies for generating tests for microprocessors are presented. Modular block, comprehensive instruction set, and microinstruction set approaches are proposed. These practical approaches are viable alternatives to the exhaustive testing which aims at considering all possible instructions, addressing modes and data patterns. The proposed approaches are versatile and effective, especially in the user environment.<>

The use of a bipolar retrieval key has the effect of doubling the length of the probe vector and making the number of +1's equal to the number of -1's in the stored vectors, even if the original stored vectors have an unequal number of +1's and -1's. The threshold conditions suggested by Hopfield and many others are examined, and certain proposed modifications to these functions are shown to be contradictory and nonunique. The concept of Hamming distance is discussed in the context of neural network computing, and a new measure of distance dependent on the contributory bits of +1's or -1's present in a pair of vectors of equal length defined over the field of real numbers is described.<>

A mathematical model is developed for the direct representation of multiple mutual inductances in a power electronic circuit. The development of the model and its implementation are illustrated by an example. The power electronic analysis software ATOSEC5 is modified to include the analysis of circuits with mutual inductance. Analysis of an inverter shows the importance of the mutual coupling in the actual behavior of the circuit.<>

The development of the model and its implementation are illustrated by an example. The power electronic analysis software ATOSEC5 is modified to include the analysis of circuits with mutual inductance.
