Bayesian Theory has been an elegant basis for the design of classifiers. There are several classifiers which do not adhere with the Bayesian principle strictly but motivated from the very theory, termed as naive Bayesian methods. The present work proposes a naive Bayesian Classification approach which limits the classification process to the basic operation of the key comparison. Moreover we are able to link the two notions of the probability — frequency in ensemble and idea of reasonable expectation by the means of ordinary algebra.

Reliability of a substation is probability to perform its function adequately for the intended period of time under specified condition with stability, security and ease of maintenance. Reliability is of prime importance for any Extra High Voltage substation. This paper has taken in consideration a 400/220/132 kV Asoj substation. In this paper, Main focus is on improvement in reliability of substation. Substation has been designed with bus schemes which improve the reliability of substation. Improvement in reliability is justified by designing substation with One and a half breaker scheme at 400 kV voltage level. 220 kV side of this substation has been designed with Two main and a transfer bus scheme. Reliability of substation is further improved by designing 132 kV side with Double bus single breaker bus scheme.

The World Wide Web has immense resources for all kind of people for their specific needs. Searching on the Web using search engines such as Google, Bing, Ask have become an extremely common way of locating information. Searches are factorized by using either term or keyword sequentially or through short sentences. The challenge for the user is to come up with a set of search terms/keywords/sentence which is neither too large (making the search too specific and resulting in many false negatives) nor too small (making the search too general and resulting in many false positives) to get the desired result. No matter, how the user specifies the search query, the results retrieved, organized and presented by the search engines are in terms of millions of linked pages of which many of them might not be useful to the user fully. In fact, the end user never knows which pages are exactly matching the query and which the pages are not, till one checks it individually by referring that page. Providing the accurate and precise result to the end users has become Holy Grail for the search engines like Google, Bing, Ask etc. This research proposes a meta-search engine called EGG that is intended to use power of the Google for more accurate and combinatorial search. This is achieved through simple manipulation and automation of Google functions that are accessible from EGG through the Google.

Content Based Image Retrieval is the method to retrieve stored image from database by supplying query image instead of text. This is achieved using proper feature extraction and matching process. Here we have implemented two methods of content based image retrieval using color and texture. In both of these method feature extraction of color is done using color moment. While feature extraction of texture is done using wavelet texture features and Gabor texture features. Finally we have retrieved top images using euclidean distance and chi-square distance and we have made comparative analysis.

These days the growth of multimedia applications (e.g. VOIP, teleconferencing etc) over Wireless Networks is on its peak and will further increase with the time. The available bandwidth for Wireless Networks fails to meet the requirements which result in high packet loss of multimedia data, delay in transmission and decreases the quality of multimedia applications. So many approaches are proposed for multimedia streams over Wireless Networks to deal with packet loss and delay over time varying bandwidth. Network Coding is one of the many proposed approaches. This approach works well for transmission of multimedia traffic in a distributed lossy environment where only partial or uncertain information is available for decision making. Network Coding technique allows an intermediate node to combine the data (packets) from different input links and sends encoded data on its output links. So, by employing appropriate variant of Network Coding scheme at each intermediate node (linear combination of input data with the concept of generation) can achieve the network capacity. This paper presents the survey of various papers in which a Network Coding technique is applied on multimedia transmission over Wireless Networks.

Increased demand of farm product due to population growth and limited resources of irrigation water has made the field irrigation management system as an important element of agricultural activity. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is the most preferred platform due to its low cost, small size, low power consumption, reduced maintenance, great flexibility, portability and scalability features. WSN based expert system is proposed to provide optimized water supply for various crops in the field. It uses on field soil moisture and temperature data to understand the actual need of water.

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have recently emerged as a new vital area in networking research. WSNs are deployed with large number of small sensor devices which are highly distributed and are able to organize flexibly into a network. Sensor nodes are able to sense physical data and transmit the gathered information to one or more base stations. When large number of nodes starts transmitting their data at the same time, congestion occurs at the nodes near to base station due to many-to-one nature of communication. Congestion in WSNs may lead to poor energy efficiency, higher packet loss, lower throughput and increased packet delay. Hence, congestion control is the major issue that should be considered while designing any transport protocol for WSNs. In this paper, we have discussed recently developed and proposed congestion control techniques for WSNs. Firstly, we emphasized on some unique characteristics of WSNs, then we discuss some guidelines for designing an effective congestion control scheme and then we have compared various congestion control techniques based on QoS parameters such as energy efficiency and fairness. Finally, we conclude our study by defining some future directions.

In this paper, various channel models like the lognormal, negative exponential, gamma-gamma, K distribution and I-K distribution for frees space optical (FSO) link are reviewed. It is observed that for non-turbulent and weak turbulent channels, the BER performance at short wavelength is better than that at long wavelength for M-PPM signaling scheme. Also, the average power requirement decreases steadily with increase in M. For moderate turbulent channel, there is no significant change in the power level as the value of M is increased. However, in strong turbulent channels, there is a slight increase in the power level with the increase in M.

The paper is mainly concerned on Liquid level control systems which are commonly used in many process control applications to control, for example, the level of liquid in a tank. Liquid enters the tank using a pump, and after some processing within the tank the liquid leaves from the bottom of the tank. The requirement in this system is to control the rate of liquid delivered by the pump so that the level of liquid within the tank is at the desired set point. IMC tuned PID algorithm is implemented in MICROC programming language and it is loaded into the PIC microcontroller. The controller generate the output according to the error signal and derives the system towered the zero error. It is also interfaced with PC through MAX232 and DB9 connector for system identification and the observation of output of the system.

Accurate load forecasting plays a key role in economical use of energy. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) models have been extensively implemented to produce accurate results for short-term load forecasting with time lead ranging from an hour to a week. In this paper daily peak load forecasting has been performed for the part of a town supplied by 19 distribution feeders on weekdays by taking into consideration the historical maximum load (Lmax) and maximum temperature (Tmax) data. Back-Propagation algorithm is verified for Momentum learning rule (MLR) and Delta-Bar-Delta learning rule (D-B-DLR). Optimization of the network parameters is performed for both learning rules. The optimized network performances are compared in terms of the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) and the network complexity.
